Chapter 47 - Chapter 47 - Entrance Party [2]

'I don't wanna spend too much time here, once I've spent some time relaxing here. I'll head to the library, and begin my research on the Sun Tribe. I know a few things about them, for example, the heart of their progenitor lies with me. And, that progenitor is the God of the Sun, who has authority over fire. Though, now that I think about it, that's pretty much all I know...'

Then, I remembered one more thing about Dragons. They had a power that almost defied logic.

That power was named Spirit Speech, Word Magic, Soul Speech or Dragon's Tongue depending on what you wanted to call it. Regardless of it's name, it was the Dragon race's most powerful ability.

It was the ability to manifest phenomena with words. If Magic was defined as 'The power to manifest phenomena based upon one's Attributes, Mana Capacity and Output.'

Then, Spirit Speech, which was defined as 'The power to manifest phenomena, irrespective of attributes' could be argued to be Magic in it's ultimate and truest form. Of course, Spirit Speech wasn't something that all members of the Sun Tribe had.

Though they're were few Dragons in this world, even fewer had Spirit Speech, and none of them were proficient with it.

Races such as Giants, Dragons and whatnot were extremely rare. Many of these ancient races had gone extinct, and in a desperate effort to continue their species they procreated humans.

This was because humanity was the most adaptable race. In fact it's because of that, that humans were the race with the most bloodline abilities. After all, a bloodline ability was really just a mutation. It also had to do with birth rates.

Humanity had the fewest Awakened when percentages were taken into account, and thus had a lower average life expectancy. Naturally, this meant that we had a higher birth rate. And so, mutations occurred more frequently, thus resulting in bloodline abilities being more frequent among our kind.

The Elves, Dwarves and other races all have similar life spans to us when we compare the non Awakened. But, since they had so many Awakened, the average life span is insanely high. Now, Awakened from all races had similar life spans.

In other words, I was gonna live for a really long time unless someone killed me. And, considering there's a group of maniacs out there who will either bring me under their control or will kill me and extract my heart, and considering the invasive species known as the Demon Race, unless I get strong I will not be living a life anywhere near long as I could.

As I thought to myself, I began having some of the food that had been laid out. I wasn't too bothered about talking to anyone, to be honest I had just come here to unwind. But, I felt quite a few gazes on me. It was mainly humans, to be honest, it was a bit uncomfortable.

So, I decided to leave. Being stared at wouldn't exactly help me relax.

After a little while, I managed to arrive at the school library. After a little bit of browsing, I managed to find a book on the Dragon race. And so, I began to read.

The first few pages covered the more known facts about Dragons. They were four legged, reptilian creatures that had tails, wings and could breathe fire. They had enormous Mana Capacities, they possessed extremely durable bodies due to the scales that covered their body.

In terms of Magic, they followed the same system that all other races did. They had affinities toward certain elements and could manipulate said elements. However, all Dragon's could control and create flames. However, I saw nothing about the flames being white in colour.

The book detailed a few theories on what caused their population to decrease in size, but none of them seemed very plausible. As I kept reading through the book, I found a section detailing their rankings. And, how to distinguish different ranks of Dragons.

Dragons were differentiated by the number of eyes one eyeball had. The lowest rank of Dragon had a singular eye in each eye ball, a Dragon's eye could be just about any colour. But, their pupils were all slots instead of circular.

A High ranked Dragon would have two eyes in one eye ball, resembling the almost mythical medical condition known as pupula duplex, where one eyeball had two eyes.

The highest rank of Dragon, the Dragon God, had 3 pupils in one eye. Though, the book stated that it was mere speculation that had no proof.

The book detailed that a Dragon's eyes could see much more than any other race could, they had X-Ray vision, immunity to illusions and more.

'I guess I have some experimenting to do, my body has gotten stronger. So perhaps Ignition will do more for me?"
