Chapter 17: Bandits
Itachi was gently awakened by Leona, who shook him to let him know it was morning.
Stretching his arms, Itachi got out of bed. After having breakfast, he and Leona headed to the garden. Upon their arrival, they found Yuki and her younger brother, Allen.
"Good morning, Yuki," Itachi greeted.
"Good morning to you too," Yuki replied.
At the same time, Leona tugged at Itachi's jacket and looked up at him with a cute expression. "Papa, can I feed the ponies?" she asked.
Itachi told her she could but reminded her to be careful.
Leona chased the ponies around the garden, full of enthusiasm, until she tripped and fell. Seeing his daughter fall, Itachi's concern flared up, and he quickly picked her up and sternly told her to sit down to prevent any further mishaps.
"Would it be okay if I went shopping with Leona?" Allen asked.
Itachi agreed, saying, "Yes, but bring Henry with you."
Curious, Allen asked, "Who's Henry?"
Itachi snapped his fingers, and Henry appeared.
"Henry is my personal bodyguard, but today he will be protecting Leona," Itachi explained.
As Allen lifted Leona and headed towards one of the carriages, Itachi gave a signal to Henry to follow them, ensuring their safety during their outing.
Yuki and Itachi sat together, enjoying their tea in the quiet garden.
"Now it's just the two of us," Yuki remarked.
Itachi took a sip of his tea and put the cup down. "It seems so. Would this be considered a date?"
Yuki blushed slightly and replied, "Maybe."
"Yuki, have you ever dated anyone before?" Itachi asked.
Yuki hesitated before answering, "Well, there was this guy, but we only talked."
"I see," Itachi acknowledged.
Yuki continued, "Well, you see, I'm actually in an arranged engagement."
"With me, right?" Itachi asked.
Yuki corrected him, "Leona Shibuya, son of the Grand Duke of the West."
Itachi looked at Yuki in shock and asked, "Why didn't you tell me this?"
"Because I told him many times that I don't want to marry him, but my grandfather and his grandfather made a promise to each other that their grandkids will get married," Yuki explained.
"This is getting confusing," Itachi admitted. "It doesn't matter because you will be marrying me, and if this Leon person thinks he can intervene, he will most likely face dire consequences."
"My parents have sent letters to the Grand Duke about ending my engagement with Leon." Yuki informed Itachi.
"That's a good idea," Itachi responded.
They continued their conversation until noon, enjoying the tranquility of the garden. But their peaceful moment was suddenly disrupted when Henry appeared, looking concerned.
"My lord," Henry said urgently, "I can't find Allen or Leona anywhere."
Itachi's face hardened with worry as he turned to Yuki. "We need to find them, now."
Itachi questioned Henry, anger evident in his voice, "What happened?"
"I was following them as you ordered, my lord, and then they just disappeared," Henry explained.
Itachi clenched his jaw and stood up. "Let's go, Yuki. Henry, have all the guards search Narnia for my daughter and my soon-to-be brother-in-law."
Henry responded, "Yes, my lord," and promptly went to inform the guards about the situation.
Itachi fumed, asking angrily, "Who in their right mind would kidnap Leona?"
"Someone who wants money, of course." Yuki replied.
All the guards scoured Narnia in search of Leona and Allen, but they were nowhere to be found. The situation grew increasingly dire.
Henry returned to Itachi with the grim report. "My lord, we can't find them anywhere."
Itachi, his anger and frustration reaching a boiling point, angrily threw a rock, knocking down a few trees. "What!" he shouted out, deeply upset.
Yuki tried to calm him down, saying, "They will be fine, Itachi. Allen can protect her." Despite her own concern, she sought to reassure him.
Meanwhile, in the midst of their dire situation, Allen asked Leona, "Leona, are you alright?"
Leona responded, "Yes, but where are we, Unkie?" Her use of the term "unkie" made Allen blush, but he quickly refocused on their predicament.
The bandits, feeling victorious and discussing the potential fortune they'd make, laughed and joked around.
Allen managed to free his hands, which had been tied behind him, and then untied Leona's. Just as the bandits turned around to see the two children escaping, one of the bandits shouted, "Find them!" Their pursuit of Leona and Allen had begun.
As they attempted to flee, Leona stumbled and cut her knee. Without hesitation, Allen swiftly picked her up and began to run.
"You're father is going to kill me," Allen worriedly remarked to Leona as they continued to escape into the woods.
The bandits eventually caught up to the two children. Exhausted and out of breath, Allen couldn't put up much of a fight.
Bandit1 sneered, "You two gave us a hard time, so we will be giving you two a hard life." He kicked Allen in the chest, sending him flying into a tree log.
As the other bandit menacingly approached Leona, a deep voice suddenly cut through the tension, "Touch her, and you're dead."
Leona looked around and saw Henry standing behind her.
"Sir Henry," she exclaimed.
"I have come to rescue you, my princess," Henry said.
Bandit3 seemed confused, "Princess?"
"This young girl that you have kidnapped is the daughter of the Demon King." Henry clarified.
Upon hearing this, panic overtook the bandits as they realized the grave mistake they had made.
The bandits, realizing the dire consequences of their actions, began to beg for mercy.
Henry, however, had no intention of sparing them. He summoned his dark magic and, with a chilling incantation, created a black void that enveloped the bandits, killing them.
