Chapter 8: Shocking news

Yuki approached Itachi with a sense of urgency, saying, "My lord, we have a problem."

Itachi sighed, "Oh no, I just got back."

Yuki urged him, "Please follow me to the assembly room."

Itachi and Yuki swiftly made their way to the assembly, where all the ministers and generals stood as Itachi entered.

"You may all be seated." Itachi instructed.

Minister Henry: "We have a problem, my lord. Demonic beasts are blocking our trade routes. If we don't deal with them soon, our economy may suffer."

"We shall send a general to investigate, Minister." Yuki responded.

Minister Tyler then shared more concerns,

Minister Tyler: "The citizens are struggling this year due to a drought. All the lands are drying up, and the farmers fear their crops might wither before harvest."

"We will find a way to assist the farmers. Is that all?" Yuki assured them.

Minister Figber raised another matter,

Minister figber: "The citizens are curious about when the Demon King will get married and produce an heir to the throne."

Yuki glanced at Itachi, who stood up, walked to the window, and then turned to address the ministers.

"General Atoka, I will send you to deal with the demonic beasts." Itachi said.

General Atoka responded with a salute, "Yes, my lord."

Itachi continued, "We shall construct a lake for the farmers and fill it with water using magical crystals."

Minister Tyler expressed concern,

Minister Tyler: "But magical crystals capable of containing elements are rare."

"Then it's your job to find them or create them. This meeting is dismissed." Itachi replied.

Itachi exited the assembly, and Yuki hurriedly followed him. Some of the generals expressed their frustration, but others acknowledged Itachi's authority.

In another kingdom located within the human territory, Secretary Riley approached King Alexander with urgent news.

Secretary Riley: "My king, a merchant has informed me that the demon nation has a new king."

King Alexander's face turned serious. He responded, "A new demon king? This is bad news. Please inform the generals and ministers immediately."

Riley nodded and said, "Yes, your majesty."

Later that day, word about the new demon king spread throughout the human lands like wildfire. Citizens whispered among themselves, cautiously sharing the news while keeping it secret.

One man whispered to another, "Demon king... shhh, don't let anyone know that I told you."

Suddenly, the door to the throne room burst open, and a beautiful young girl approached the king.

???: "Father, I've been hearing rumors about a new demon king."

King Alexander turned to his daughter, Isabella, and asked, "Isabella, my daughter, how have you been?"

Isabella, not to be deterred, responded, "So, it's true."

Another voice chimed in, "Little sister, what are you doing here?"

Isabella turned to her older brother, Alex, who had just arrived.

"Big brother Alex, I thought you were at Duke Richardson's." She asked.

"I was, but my guard informed me about the news, so I had to come ask father if it was true." Alex explained.

Together, they turned to their father, King Alexander, with the same question: "So, father, is it true?"

Secretary Riley, who had been observing the exchange, replied, "Yes, it's true, but we don't know anything about him or how he looks."

King Alexander contemplated the situation and then made a decision, "Send an envoy to the elves and one to the demon king."

Riley, curious about the king's reasoning, asked, "Why, my king?"

"We usually have the Grand Peace Talk every ten years, but we haven't had one since the past three hundred years. Also, send an envoy to the other three great kings." King Alexander replied.

Riley nodded and said, "Yes, my lord."

Later that same day, Princess Isabella encountered one of her friends.

Isabella: "Amy, how are you?"

Amy: "I'm good, Princess. My brother has been asking about you."

Isabella: "Amy, please tell Omar that I don't want to be with him."

Amy: "But you're already engaged to him, remember?"

Isabella: "I know, but it was my Dad's idea, not mine."

Suddenly, Omar appeared. "Isabella, my love, I've missed you." Omar kissed her on the back of her hand.

Isabella: "Omar, I will never marry you."

Omar responded firmly, "You'll be turning 18 two weeks from now, and on your birthday celebration, your father will announce our wedding day."

Isabella, frustrated and determined, grabbed her hand and ran off.
