Chapter 12 : The Northernmost.

we're home my lord Yuki said to itachi.

it's about time, the human realm is tiring itachi replied.

Itachi stepped out of the carriage, greeted by a shower of flowers and the triumphant blare of trumpets. The people of the demon world erupted into joyful cheers.

Yuki bowed gracefully before Itachi and said, "Welcome home, my lord." A warm smile graced Itachi's lips as he replied, "It's wonderful to be back."

The capital's jubilant celebrations continued for a week without pause. However, as the festivities came to an end, life returned to its usual rhythm.

The farmers, now blessed with a bountiful lake to irrigate their lands and the demon beasts that inhabited the region, had met their unfortunate end. Inter-nation trade resumed.

Itachi lean back in his chair, engrossed in his reading, when Yuki quietly entered his office.

"My lord," she whispered. "We have a pressing matter. We must journey north to the lands of the Duke."

Itachi set aside his book, a hint of disappointment in his eyes. "What's the issue now, Yuki?" he asked.

"We need to visit the Duke of the North," Yuki replied.

Itachi sighed and rose to his feet. "Isn't that where the snowfall is heavy?" he asked.

"Yes, my lord," Yuki replied.

"Is it possible to send an envoy, Yuki?" Itachi asked.

Yuki hesitated briefly before responding, "Under normal circumstances, that would be our approach. However, this situation is urgent, my lord."

"From what I remember, the journey to the Northern lands takes at least three days," Itachi recalled.

Yuki affirmed, "Indeed, it does. That's why the Dark Priestess will be teleporting us, my lord."

As the Dark Priestess entered the room and began her incantation, Yuki tightly held onto Itachi's hand. In an instant, they found themselves teleported.

Itachi looked around in confusion, his frustration evident. "I thought she was going to teleport us to the Duke's house or something, not in the middle of nowhere," he complained.

Yuki chuckled and explained, "We're actually inside the garden of the Northern Duke."

Itachi looked around in surprise and remarked, "This is a garden?"

Suddenly, the Duke's knights appeared and escorted Itachi and Yuki to the palace.

Upon arriving at the grand palace, Itachi and Yuki were warmly welcomed by the head maid and the butler.

Butler Waltz gracefully spoke, "Allow me to escort you to the Duke's office, my lord."

Yuki, with a hint of disappointment, muttered, "I find it rather insulting that the Duke didn't greet us himself."

Itachi let out a sigh, his tone growing firm. "Instead of us going to the Duke, I would prefer if you bring him to me."

Waltz, trembling with fear, quickly complied, "Yes, my lord."

He quickly heads to inform the Duke, while Head Maid Lashy went to inform the Duchess.

Yuki summoned a throne with her ice magic, which exuded a chilling elegance throughout the mansion. However, as Itachi sat on it, he found it too cold. "Can you make it less cold, Yuki?" he requested.

Yuki adjusted the throne to a more comfortable temperature. Shortly after, Waltz and Lashy returned with the Duke and the Duchess of the North.

The Duke, the Duchess, and their helpers were shocked to see Itachi seated on an ice throne at the front of the mansion.

The Duke bowed respectfully and said, "I'm sorry, Great Demon King. It was rude of me."

Itachi's piercing gaze sent a shiver throughout the Duke's entire body as he replied, "What was so important that you summoned me to your estate, Duke?"

"As you may know, my lord, the demon realm is split into five parts: NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, WEST, and the CAPITAL," the Duke explained.

Itachi nodded and gestured for him to continue, saying, "Go on."

The Duke continued, "Each part of the lands is also split into more regions, except for the Demon Capital."

"I see, so the North isn't just the North; you also have a North East," Itachi noted with an air of intimidation.

"Yes," the Duke replied. "My lord, let me explain it to you," Yuki interjected confidently. "The Northern land that the Duke rules over is split into four:"

"North East - Shadowreach Abyss

North West - Infernal Peaks

North South - Abyssal Glade

North North - Voidstorm Plains"

"We are currently in the Voidstorm Plains, the northern most region," Yuki clarified.

Itachi understood and asked, "But why did you call and say it was an emergency, Duke?"

The Duchess spoke up, "Both the North West and North South are rebelling against us. They even kidnapped our daughter. If we don't do something, the entire Northern lands will be destroyed."

Suddenly, a masked man appears Itachi glared at him, and he fumbled.

"It's okay, he's my right hand, his name is Fritz." The Duke said to Itachi.

Fritz then conveyed the urgency of the situation, "This is bad, My Duke. The North East has joined forces with the others, and the mayors are leading an army toward the mansion as we speak."

Itachi let out a sigh and stood up.

"Tell everyone to get ready to fight," he said, clearly annoyed.

A few hours passed, and it was now the dead of night. The mayors led a small army to the Duke's mansion.

Mayor Chow: Duke, surrender, and you won't die."

A bright light flashed, and Itachi appeared in front of the mayors. One of the mayors nervously asked, "Who are you?"

Itachi activated his Sharingan and replied, "They call me the Demon King." A sinister grin crossed his face as he uttered those words.
