Kristin looked at Jenson, her mind racing non-stop, for she thought the man had some ulterior motive. "What do you want?"
"Marry me," He smiled.
Kristin was stunned the moment she heard that. She lifted her eyes and stared at the man in front of her in shock. "President Swayer, w-what did you say?"
Kristin thought she was hearing things.
"I said, marry me," Jenson repeated himself impatiently. His handsome face looked very serious, and he didn't seem to be joking.
After a long time, Kristin finally regained her senses. She carefully glanced at the man. "President Swayer, I don't have the time to play with you."
"No, I am not playing any game with you" Jenson replied in a straight voice.
"You will get the title of Mrs. Sawyer after the marriage. You can take advantage of the title and do anything you want. I won't stand in your way."
"Sorry, President Swayer" Kristin answered.
"Why?" Jenson cocked his brows.
This guy is mad! He must be mad!
"Because I don't know you, and I don't love you"
"Who do you love then? Tyler? Well, he's your brother-in-law now." Jenson exposed the truth mercilessly. "You aren't thinking of getting with him again, are you?"
"President Swayer, if there's nothing else…"
"I'll take care of your mother's medical fees if you marry me," Jenson spoke out.
Kristin clenched her fists. Three years ago, her mother ran into a car accident and has been in a vegetative state ever since then. She had been living frugally these years to pay the medical bills.
"I can hire the best medical team for your mother."
Kristin wavered. Her eyes glistened as if she changed her mind.
Jenson was a perfect man, but Kristin knew they were people from two parallel universes.
"Why? We don't even know each other, and you know my situation here. Why would you marry a persona non grata like me?"
Jenson looked outside the window and explained to her coldly, "My grandmother is old. Her greatest wish now is to see me get married. There's no reason in particular. It just so happened that you appeared at the right time and place, and that makes you the right person."
Kristin stared into Jenson's eyes, as though trying to find something within them.
"You don't have to give me an answer right now, Miss Kristin. I'll give you time to think about it."

Janice caught a glimpse of Kristin standing not too far away from her. She was exiting the detention centre with another man. As Janice watched, they entered a car and sped away.
Her phone rang at that moment and it disrupted her thoughts. She glanced at it and saw that it was a call from Rachel. She frowned as she picked up the call while Rachel's nervous voice flooded the other line. "Director Cooper, someone has bailed your sister out."
Meanwhile, somewhere else, Eve had also been informed of Janice's release from the detention centre. Unfortunately, they had no idea who had bailed Kristin out.
"Could it be Cameron?" Eve muttered as she scowled. While it was a logical guess, she could not help but feel uneasy about it.
Kristin arrived at Hilliside cooperation. The moment she stepped out of the elevator, Eve's secretary ran toward her and stopped her. "Director Cooper is in a meeting right now. You can talk to her when the meeting is over" The secretary strung all of her words together and avoided making then brushed the secretary off.
Kristin then brushed the secretary off. "Why are you stopping...."
"Shh!"
The secretary narrowed her eyes and grabbed Kristin by the hand. Before she could even react, the secretary placed her index finger on her lips, telling her to remain quiet.
"Didn't you say you'd make sure that Kristin will be locked up for three days until Father came back?"
"Don't worry. Mommy has it all planned out." Eve continued. "I already talk about her marriage with the Hart family."
Bang! The door slammed open. A furious Kristin stormed in and viciously slapped Janice across the face. "You bitch!"
"What are you doing?" Eve pushed Kristin. She staggered two steps back and fell onto the chair. "What have I done to you?" She snapped.
"Kristin, This is all for you." Eve gritted her teeth. "Your father recently scored a huge deal. The other party promised that as long as you marry into their family, he'd inject two hundred million worth of assets into Hillside. I'm sure you're aware that your father is expanding the business, so you should know how important this sum is to the company."
Kristin became misty-eyed. "So, you sold me!"
