When Kristin left the Hillside Corporation, she was unsteady on her feet. The faster she walked, the more in a rush she became. It almost felt like a predator was chasing her from behind, causing her to break into a wild run ahead in the end.
She had already crossed two streets when she felt a shooting pain in her heels. Finally, she sat on one of the benches on the roadside as she started to sob.
The weather at the end of summer had brought along a heatwave, but Kristin's heart was as cold. She sat in silence for the longest time. Finally, when she started to feel pins and needles in her limbs, she stood up from the bench. However, she almost fell onto the ground due to the prolonged period of poor circulation. She immediately reached out to support herself against the bench.
A shadow suddenly loomed over her and Kristin raised her head to see Jenson standing in front of her.
He was standing tall and straight while his black western suit, which was custom-made by a famous Italian fashion designer, accentuated his height. He had handsome facial features, but he had an air of coldness to him. He merely stood quietly on the spot while maintaining a calm and steady aura as his forcefulness attracted the attention of countless passersby.
"Why are you following me? Don't you have anything good to do?" She eyed him before turning decisively to walk in the opposite direction.
"Do you have an answer now?"
She slowed down for less than a second, but she swiftly continued moving forward. Soon, she covered another 5 to 6 meters from Jenson without turning back.
"You already know it. My position in the Cooper household doesn't give me access to any of the family's shares, nor do I have a place in the Cooper family's business. You're aware of this, right?" She gritted her teeth while she turned to look at the man who had somehow stopped right behind her.
Jenson said while maintaining a cold and distant expression. "A worthless man would depend on his woman like this."
"But what's what a lot of men do," Her burning throat was hoarse and painful.
"Do you have any more questions, Miss Kristin?" Jenson seemed very patient. He had always been patient when it came to work, but he had never had this much patience for a woman.
"President Swayer, Do you mean it?" Jenson was taller than her by more than a foot, so she had to look up to gaze into his eye.
"I'm a person who keeps my word and doesn't joke around." He said while maintaining his cold and distant expression.
For some reason, Kristin felt a moment of fear, although that feeling disappeared shortly after.
Jenson looked at the fair, small face in front of him gazed at her face and he noticed that her eyelashes were quivering like a pair of butterflies that were about to take off.

When Kristin entered the house, both Eve and Justin looked at her. Kristin pursed her lips, watching Eve leave before turning to look at Justin. "When did you come Dad? "
Justin looked up at Kristin then pointed to the chair next to him. "Have a seat. Your mother made you some tea – it's made with fresh tea leaves from this year. It's been a year since you left home. Your sister…"
"Father, if you intend to talk about my sister, then save it. You should know that I've have been in a relationship with Tyler long ago and even nearly got engaged, but to think that Janice actually…"
Kristin smiled bitterly. "Have you ever considered me? If any of you had thought about me even once, then none of that would have happened."
"Kristin" Justin interrupted. "It's not like your sister wanted this, but when it comes to love…"
"That's enough. You're my father and she's my sister, so there's nothing I can do. But that doesn't mean I will forgive her or approve of their marriage."
"Kristin...…" Justin looked at Kristin. A hint of disappointment flashed across his eyes as he shook his head in distress. "I've told you so many times – why are you still being so stubborn? How has your sister treated you since young? Even when you were kidnapped back then, she was the one who rescued you! How could you be so ungrateful? Why do you have to fight with your sister over everything? You disappoint me!"
Kristin suddenly got up, trembling lightly as she stared at Justin with a pale face.
"I hope they spend the rest of their lives together forever."
