Chereads / Desert Wolf (La Loba) / Chapter 8 - Ch. 8

Chapter 8 - Ch. 8

Damn it!

Clenching his fist tight while grinding his teeth, Ryan's thoughts were filled with the events of last night. He was careless enough for her to slip from him continuously and last night was his first meeting face to face with the legendary desert Wolf, although he couldn't see her face. But from her demeanor and the aura regenerating from her, there was no way she could be fake. With a noble aura of a Queen and an Alpha among wolves she stood her grounds and her words were with much authority. Just thinking of the fact that he was plainly threatened and spared by her, Ryan's pride and self-esteem suffered a heavy blow.

'Damn it! Next time I won't loose to her, I'll get her no matter what and I'll end her myself even if it's the last thing I do!' he was determined and made a promise to himself, because as an hunter his pride was challenged.

"Ryan what are you standing dazed thinking about, hurry up and get a partner immediately" The dance teacher said bringing him back from his thoughts.

"Be quick and pick a partner" The teacher urged arranging the students in their line.

Ryan had a headache due to her words, if not because he was undercover and it was a must for him to participate in everything regarding of his dislikes, he wouldn't want to be here for even s second! Looking around for a partner he spotted the queen bee looking at him with so much interest, which gave him goosebumps. He felt very uncomfortable from her gaze to the point it felt like bugs crawling on his skin.

As he sifted his gaze, he saw that figure sitting on the bench with no interest of taking part in the dance class, unknown to him there was a faint smile in his eyes as he walked towards her.

Kira was busy thinking about some actions of hers which was unlike her, like the fact that she was in contact with hunters from Ryan's teams many times but she never once thought about taking their lives. That was just unlike her because all hunters in the world must be gotten rid off in order to cure the world of their evil deeds, that was what she had always thought but why did it seem to be a different thing when it came to that Ryan. Lost in such annoying thoughts she suddenly had an urge to look up when she noticed someone was standing in front of her. She lifted her head only to be greeted with a smiling Ryan.

"What?" she frowned uncomfortably.

"Nothing, ma'am I have found my partner" He announced.

"That's good, you two come and stand in your position" The dance teacher said still giving instructions to other students.

"What the hell are you talking about, did you ask me for my opinion?" Kira asked angrily after hearing the conversation between Ryan and the dance class instructor.

"Hmm, what's the need for asking you when you will surely dance, Let's go" He said stretching out his hand to her.

Kira looked at his hand confused. She didn't know what to do with it. Actually even if she liked to tease him, she would never want to have a dance with him. Regarding Ryan she just didn't know her attitude towards him. All hunters she had met so far had this strong smell of blood on their body due to years of hunting and killing her kinds and alike even if they washed that strong smell of blood would still be on their body. But with Ryan she couldn't smell that, there wasn't any bloody smell on him as if he is very clean and never had taken the blood of someone. But that just is impossible right, so what was the difference?

Ryan noticed her expression and held her hand. He noticed she was tensed, he looked at her tensed figure closely. He noticed she was taking in deep breath to calm herself.

Kira was busy calming herself that she didn't know Ryan was observing her. Kira noticed a gaze on her. She turned and she saw the queen bee's furious gaze.

Kira immediately looked at Ryan. He had a grin on his Lips. She felt like scraping off the flesh from that stupid face.

They both stood in their position. The dance they where learning was a ballroom dance. The instructor showed them the position they were meant to start with.

When the teacher told them to start dancing with the given information she had given, Ryan and Kira were both standing looking at each other.

"What are you two doing?" The teacher asked with a shout and they both didn't answer him.

"Now get in your dance position" she commanded and they both did as were told but there was a big gap between them.

"Come closer" the teacher said and they got closer but there was still gap between them. The teacher pinched the middle of her brows in frustration.

She walked towards them. When she got there she pushed the both of them closer to the extent that Kira was touching Ryan on his chest.

"Perfect, now continue dancing" The teacher said with satisfaction.

Kira was confused on what to do, she had never danced a ballroom dance before and even Ryan was confused too. The both of them were more knowledgeable in the arts of battles than dancing.

They both looked around trying to copy the way others were dancing.

The teacher noticed the nonsense they were doing. But she didn't say a word.

When the dance class was almost over, she gathered them together.

"Please take note that the person you danced with, will be your partner till you leave and you all should try and put more effort in your dancing skills because it will also be recorded in your report" The teacher announced.

Immediately he said that Kira and Ryan both looked at each other.

Ryan sat in his desk and a group of boys gathered around him. Ryan looked at them with a plain expression. He could actually recognize them but he just never had this tendency of caring about anything else apart from his missions.

"Hey Ryan, what's with you dancing with that girl when the most beautiful girl will die to have a dance with you?" The leader of the boys asked.

"Why should I explain myself to you?" Ryan said with a dangerous aura.

"Woah, calm down. No need to be heated up. It was just a question, it's okay if you don't want to answer"

"But, you haven't explained why you are avoiding Layla " the leader asked again.

"Do I need a reason to avoid her?" He replied with disdain and the boys nodded their heads in understanding.

The teacher walked into the class and the boys went back to their seats. Ryan had this frustrated look on his face.

He had never been the school type so when the teacher entered the class he was so angry knowing this was going to be a long class.

As teaching went on Ryan listened to the teacher with a bored face. He couldn't help as his thoughts trained back to the Desert Wolf and what she said last night.

He was sure that she could have killed his team mates but she didn't. He couldn't understand what her deal was.

From the information given to him the Desert Wolf was quick in getting rid of obstacles and quick in solving her problems, why did she not kill them before coming to him?

Ryan had never doubted his actions and ways of doing things nor had he ever doubted whether there was a need to kill in his missions, like he sounds now. He looked at the teacher who was busy teaching and came to a conclusion.

Ryan warned himself that she's a deadly killer, he shouldn't let his guard down.

After school Ryan went to the cafe with his hunter teammates.

"You guys should better be prepared , we are heading out tonight. I must catch her tonight" He said with so much determination.

He couldn't let her continue ruining his fame. He was glad that no one knew what had been happening in the forest actually apart from his family.

In the dark night Ryan and his teammates entered the forest, they were very attentive and ready to catch the La Loba.

They walked deeper into the forest, watching each other's back. Making sure that what happened the previous day won't happen again.

Ryan kept his hand close to his shot gun, so when he hear any sound he will be ready to take action.

All this while they didn't know that Kira was on the tree watching all their moves , she never thought of taking any action.

She just found out that, if she didn't show up , he will pissed to the core.

Ryan and his partners checked the area and they didn't see any signs of the La Loba. Ryan's expression wasn't that good, he pulled out his shot gun and fired in the sky.

The birds flew away due to the loud sound. After some time, the forest was calm again. Ryan was so pissed off, He angrily left the forest leaving his teammates behind.
