Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: That's just more work!

Sir Hibiki's assistant was traumatized. He ran behind the box while sobbing and sat down. He had no idea what to do and was scared for his life. The man whispered desperately, almost glued to the metal box. "Sir Hibiki, please answer. You have to be fine, right? You're just playing a prank on me or something. This can't be your end. Please..."

There was still no response coming from inside. The poor assistant knew what it meant, but he couldn't take it. He fell on his knees and got closer to it, pleading hopelessly. Hibiki promised him they would meet up after the party for a drink and chat their night away. That couldn't be their friendship's end. It just couldn't.

On the other hand, the unknown man was charging at Freya with full speed and full anger. She jumped, stumbling slightly, just before he hit the chair she was standing on. The object flew into the table, knocking it down.

Freya took a second knife for her empty hand, then charged at him too, screaming with rage. But he dodged as well, by jumping to the side and then landing by rolling himself and stood again, ready for more. It was almost an endless loop of attacking and dodging. At times, they would get little cuts on their body, but for now it was never serious.

Then Freya was suddenly grabbed by the hair because she didn't pay attention one moment. She was thrown into the stage then fell on the ground. Her back was now hurting, throbbing painfully but she could still manage.

The man charged at her again. Luckily, Freya got up in time to block his attack and return it with her other knife. He was good, but she was better and they both knew it. She didn't throw him, instead she just pushed him, enough for the weird guy to fall. She then grabbed him by his short hair and turned him on his stomach, over her knee, pressing with her elbow in-between his shoulder blades. Freya then took some cuffs and put them on his hands tying them together.

An unexpected event truly, but it wasn't over. Freya got a foot in her face, pushing her to the ground as well. Her nose bleeding. The cuffs might be holding his hands together, but she should've definitely put some on his legs too. ''Damn it! She thought, what's wrong with me today?''

Strangely, the guy didn't attack her, instead he just stared at Freya. The he started talking. "You sure have some nice moves! This time you're really lucky, because my time is almost up and I can't do this anymore. If we ever meet again, I'll make sure your life is living h*ll."

After saying that he ran towards the darkened forest part of the park instead of the path everyone came through. Freya ran after him, but to no avail. The trees were to close together and he ran quickly. The guy jumped from tree to tree, just a fleeing shadow and left the scene like he was never there.

She was truly furious for losing the fight. It would've been fantastic to give that arrogant brat a good a*s beating. Then Freya went back to the stage.

All the chairs were either broken or thrown around. The table was totally destroyed and the stage had a hole in it. All the guests were hiding behind decorations or trees, the ones that hadn't ran away yet and Freya's back was hurting like crazy. There was still the mystery of the magician Hibiki as well.

When Freya remembered that Hibiki was still nowhere to be found, she rushed to the stage, taking care to avoid the huge hole. This time, she actually made it up and got to the metal box. Behind it was hiding Sir Hibiki's assistant. He seemed to be in a really bad mental state.

"Sir, please calm down. The attacker is gone for now. And don't worry about Mr. Hibiki, I'm going to find out what happened." Said Freya in a calm voice, so she could get the assistant to calm down as well. He wasn't the only one in panic, unfortunately.

Freya looked around for awhile, then she found someone that was calmer than the others. "Hey! You, right there. Get everyone out of here, I'll be taking care of the two on stage. Make sure everyone gets out, understood?" The person was a little confused and esitated at first, but then she nodded and started telling guests to leave, gaining more confidence by the second. Surprisingly, pretty much every person listened to her and got out.

After, everyone left, Freya had done a part of her mission as well. Calm down the assistant has been successfully done. When she was done with the assistant, she went over to the metal box. Nothing seemed abnormal with it at first sight. There was no blood coming out and nothing was stopping the doors from opening. The only things that might be the cause could be either the swords entering the box or a mechanism that went wrong inside the box.

After examining everything from the outside, Freya opened the doors. She couldn't believe what she saw inside. It was really horrifying. Through one of the swords was put a human head. That was the first thing she saw, but upon more examination, it seemed like one part of a body was put through each sword. Besides the head, all the other swords had different organs.

All that was seen by Freya inside the box was disgusting and shocking, but there was something that didn't fit this scene. For all these organs it was hard to identify the origin, but for the head it was way easier. The problem was that the head did not belong to Sir Hibiki, the one who should have been there.

"Hey mister! Could you tell me if there is any kind of secret compartment in this box? And explain the trick as well." Freya was now suspicious of the scene presented to her. She knew magic was to make people see something that wasn't there using lies, so she needed to know more about the box.

"Well, no? The box itself has enough space for the trick. To change his clothes, the magician wears a double outfit. Upon flipping it on the inside, the suit would transform in a normal T-shirt and for the pants, they change color with the help of a special powder that lightens the color of clothes. The magician changes clothes as fast as possible, mainly before the third sword comes in. After changing clothes, the executer of the trick has to push himself as far as he can in the back of the box. By doing that, the swords can't touch due to the blind spot. And to get out, the magician can easily push the swords outside a little and make way for his grandiose exit." The assistant was really impressive with explaining, it seemed to calm him down a little. Freya never expected to hear so much detail on a magic trick, but that was great.

"Alright then, thank you for the explanation. Please wait next to the stage, I'll be investigating this matter until I can find what really happened here." The assistant did as he was told. Freya then looked back at the box. 'There has to be a compartment, there is no way to leave this box otherwise'. She thought, beginning to show frustration.
