When she got to the building, the parking spots were almost all taken. Luckily, she had a personal parking spot since she had a special rank in the agency.
Thinking about the agency and her rank, Freya remembered something. In the past she used to be normal. She didn't have any powers, until one day, she found a weird stone. Even though that weird stone could have been just a piece of a glass bottle, Freya still wanted to take it.
When she picked up the stone, she felt a weird energy go through her body. Freya didn't mind the energy and got back into her house. Many mysterious things started happening after picking thr stone up, but she wore it as a necklace.
One day, the wind around her started breaking anything around it. People were harmed and some had to go to the hospital. That was the reason the ASA had to get involved.
When the ASA found out about her extraordinary powers, they took her in and gave her a job. Because Freya had powers, the one who took her in, wanted to give her a more special position in the ASA, but she didn't mind. The ASA was really welcoming, so even if at first it was hard, it wasn't anymore.
It was very hard making friends with researchers. Most of them were really bad or arrogant, that's another good reason for leaving.
After parking her car, she went inside the ASA building. Inside were a lot of people, so it was really hard to get around. Most of them seemed new, so Freya thought that most of them were quite young.
There was surely an event just for newcomers to train their intelligence. She went the way to the Overseer's office, since she wanted to get away as fast as possible from the work.
She knocked three times and the familiar voice spoke. "Please enter. I don't have anything holding me back from a little talk for now." Mr. Evans voice didn't show any emotion and Freya didn't like it.
She opened the door and hot inside. The room was just as she remembered. Mr. Evans was working on endless papers that were on his desk. He had so much work to focus on that he didn't even bat an eye in the direction of the door to see who it wasn't.
"Mr. Evans, I see you have a lot of.work. Why did you say you are free if you're still working and have more waiting anyway?" Freya made a happy voice because, she wanted to cheer up the Overseer at least a little bit. He was always happy to see her, the voice was more for a good first impression after the little vacation she had.
When the Overseer heard the voice, he looked as fast as possible to thr door and smiled warmly. "Eclipse! How was your vacation? And why are you here so early? I am pretty sure you had two more days." After seeing her, Mr. Evans voice changed. It was showing emotion this time, and it was a happy one."
"Well, it was pretty good I guess. There were definitely some new experiences, but they were something I wasn't expecting. I came here to talk with you about the mission you mentioned." When she talked about the mission, she became serious. The smile and the happy voice that she had both faded.
The Overseer seemed surprised by her sudden change. Freya expected it, since she doesn't usually like being serious. "I see. You sure thought about then. What do you think after deciding for long? Do you want to do it, or should I find someone else?" The Overseer was serious too. No emotion was heard in his voice once again."
"I want do it! I know it's going to be a hard mission, but I want to see the world. There are many places I've never visited. It's for me to change my life style a little." Freya was confident in everything she said. All she wanted now, was to leave and breathe the air of different places. She wants to have as much fun as possible.
"Alright then. Thank you, Freya! You helped me a lot! I will be preparing for your leave. My secretary will help you with packing your stuff and then you will be leaving." The Overseer got up. He called for the secretary and told her how things were. He told Freya to leave the room after that.
"Wait! Before I leave, I need to tell you something." She almost forgot to tell him about all the events that took place at the party. It was a must gor Mr. Evans to know.
After telling him everything Mr. Evans was surprised. "I never thought this would happen so quick. Freya, you need to be careful! What you encountered wasn't something to see everyday. Someone must have a shard as well. The bad thing about that, is fact they know how to use it, and they're not using it for anything good. You're going to encounter many problems that may be somewhat close to that. I trust you will know what to do at the time. You can leave now, but I have one last thing to say. Be careful who you put your trust in. You only have yourself when it comes to trust." When he finished talking about it, Mr. Evans went back to his desk to work and didn't say anything else.
Freya got out of his office. All she could think about was the conversation she had qith the Overseer. She already knew about the dangers she may encounter, but she didn't have that much experience yet. It was hard to comprehend what happened at the party. She promised that assistant to get sir Hibiki back too. The assistant would be even sadder if he knew she was going to leave. Was she really unable to fulfill that promise she made to him?
