Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Humiliation

In the taxi, the girl clung to Tyler, giggling and slurring her words. "You're so cute, h-ey, tell me your name. I wanna be with you forever."

Tyler shifted uncomfortably, "unfortunately, I've lost joy in having a lady by my side."

"Oh m-my gosh. Y-you're so funny––I mean, you're so cuuuute!" She slurred her words, her breath tinged with the scent of alcohol.

Tyler felt his face heat up in embarrassment. "Um, thanks. You're drunk, you know that right? So just relax."

She shook her head, making her hair swish in all directions. "Nooo, I'm not drunk. I'm just t-tipsy. It's your fault for buying so many shots."

The driver glanced at them through the rearview mirror and chuckled. "Looks like you two had a fun night."

The girl turned to him, pointing a finger. "Hey, Mr. Driver, we had the best night ever. We danced, we drank, we kissed."

"None of that happened, I just saved you and if you continue I'd throw you out of the taxi." Tyler rolled his eyes. "Let's just focus on getting to a hotel."

After seeing the girl pout at him he said. "Sir please take us to The Ritz Carlton."

The driver chuckled. "And how much money do you have, kid?"

"I can pay, don't look down on me." Tyler replied, afterall he was now a million dollars owner.

"Are you sure about that?" the driver asked, a sneer on his lips. "There isn't no motel on the street."

Tyler felt angry but didn't respond. After a few moments of silence, they finally arrived at the hotel. Tyler helped the girl into the luxurious lobby, which was decorated with glittering chandeliers and plush furniture. He walked up to the reception desk and said, "I want to check in."

The receptionist looked him up and down in a dismissive way. "I'm sorry, sir." she said, her voice dripping with annoyance, "but we're full right now."

"What do you mean?" Tyler asked, bewildered. "I need a room."

"I mean what you think I mean sir." She eyed him.

Tyler's shoulders slumped. "Really? Ok, Is there any other hotel nearby we could try?"

"I don't know sir." The receptionist said.

Just as he was turning to leave, another woman walked up to the desk. "Excuse me, I would like a room for the night."

The receptionist's demeanor changed immediately, and she smiled warmly. "Of course, ma'am. Let me help you with that."

The receptionist's attitude changed completely. "Of course, ma'am. What's your name?"

Tyler felt a burst of anger and said, "Hey, why did you just lie to her? You said the hotel was full!" He raised his eyebrow at the realization that he had been lied to, "Wait a minute, why did you say the hotel was full when she just got a room?"

Tyler was furious. He had worked hard to earn enough money to stay in this hotel, and he wasn't going to let her disrespect him. "I need an answer right now!" he snapped.

The receptionist rolled her eyes. "Sure," she said, "and you're the king of England huh?"

The receptionist shrugged. "Well, the hotel is full. But we make exceptions for people who can afford it."

Tyler felt humiliated, "What do you mean? I can afford it!"

Tyler frowned, as the receptionist sneered at him. "Please, sir. This is a 7-star hotel, not some cheap motel on the street. How could a delivery boy like you afford to stay here?"

Tyler looked down and realized he was still wearing his food delivery uniform. But he was rich now, thanks to the stock tip he got from his mysterious family. "I can afford it, trust me. I want a room right now."

"Really? In that case, why are you wearing a delivery uniform? Good luck finding a room somewhere else." The receptionist laughed.

Tyler gritted his teeth, feeling a surge of anger inside him. "Listen here, lady..."

But before he could finish the receptionist shook her head and said. "I'm sorry, sir, but you're causing a disturbance. I'm going to have to call the guards to escort you out."

The receptionist picked up the phone and said, "Security? Yes, we have a guest causing trouble at the front desk. Can you please escort him out?"

Suddenly, Tyler found himself surrounded by two burly security guards grabbing his arms.

"What's going on here?" A voice came from behind, making Tyler turn around to see who.

It was the hotel manager. The receptionist told him about Tyler and his request for a room. The manager looked Tyler up and down, and his expression turned serious. "I'm afraid that won't be possible. You need to come with me."

Tyler was frantically trying to explain himself to the receptionist, but she seemed to have lost her temper. She was indeed hot under the collar. "I swear to God, ma'am, I can pay. I have money, please!"

The receptionist rolled her eyes and turned to the hotel manager, "Mr. Banes, this guy has been telling me the same story since he walked in an hour ago. He's a delivery guy and he wants a room here. Throw him out of here."

"Oh no, you wait, you can't go anywhere because the police are already on their way here." The manager took his phone off his ears and stopped Tyler.

"What the heck is happening here? So just because I'm putting on a delivery guy uniform, you think I am a scammer? Are you even okay?!" Tyler eyed the man and turned around to leave when he felt a force push him to the floor.

"You think you can act all big, that's why you came here, isn't it? Well, newsflash, your plan failed."

"I..!" He was about to react when he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. He stood up, shaking his head and grinning nervously. "What the hell?" he muttered to himself. "Is this for real?" He just received another alert of 10 million dollars. At this point, he had no time for the manager or whatever was happening.

Just then, his phone rang again. This time it was an unknown number. Tyler hesitated for a moment before answering.

"Hello?" he said cautiously.

"Hi, Tyler," a woman's voice said. "This is Sophia from the Texas Regional Bank. I wanted to confirm that you received the transfer of 10 million dollars in your account just now."

Tyler blinked, surprised. "Uh, yeah, that's right. Is everything okay?"
