Chapter 22 - The Golden Manor

"Griefland?"

Standing in front of the playground, Eleazar glanced up at the sign.

A clown who seems to be crying, his body constantly shaking.

A roaring scream came from inside the amusement park.

In a sense, it's kinda a sad cry for humanity.

Eleazar bought his ticket, thought better of it, and brought an ice cream back from the next stand.

Fina's eyes did light up.

Teenage girls at this age are still actually quite understandable, Eleazar sighed, taking her hand back with ease.

Walking into the noisy amusement park, he covered his head slightly.

Colorful balloons, musicians playing violins in the distance, crowds of people in front of clowns, animal tamers, puppeteers, and acrobats performing, and a roller coaster full of screams passing overhead.

The witch in the mysterious robes greeted her and enthusiastically solicited, "Sir, do you need divination? My readings are very accurate!"

Eleazar thanked the other man politely.

Holding the beautiful woman beside him, he wandered slowly through the amusement park.

See fireworks displays, watch lions jump through fire rings, see blindfolded flying daggers thrown...

When Fina, who had finished licking her ice cream, looked up, she realized that they were sitting in a slow-moving train, surrounded by rowdy kids.

"Are you still a child?"

Fina gave him a blank look and jumped right off the little train.

Eleazar smiled helplessly and followed her to the program where the adults were supposed to play.

Roller coasters, sledgehammers, pirate ships, jumping machines... With a mortal body, challenging the limits of physics, in this kind of slight accident will be dead to the face of the facilities, and they experience the true meaning of death over and over again.

"Ah..."

Listening to the hefty screams coming from his side, and looking at the slightly drunken face with sweat-dampened hair, an inexplicably throbbing Eleazar reached out and grasped the hot, delicate hand.

She responded hard, squeezing his knuckles and making them 'hiccup hiccup hiccup'.

Eleazar grimaced in pain, awakened to the pain in his back by this familiar force.

...

At the end of the morning's excursion, they were eating steak in the Glen-inspired restaurant.

In the afternoon, taking a walk through the pale, lush woods at Heads Up, they snuggled up to each other, enjoying the quiet beauty of it all.

It would have been a very nice day without the trip that followed.

"Look, up ahead is that haunted house I was talking about," Fina said, pointing ahead.

Stepping out of this long and deadly wooded area, they were greeted by a ragged and barren landscape.

A deserted manor of unknown age, the surrounding farmland overgrown with weeds, a windmill with two broken fan blades, a cobweb-strewn mill collapsed, the manor gates closed with various warning signs written in blood-red, the fence spreading out on both sides cracked and crawling with moss, and the sky a little overcast.

Eleazar said a bit hesitantly, "The atmosphere of this facility is quite nice."

"Not oh."

Fina looked at him with a tilt of her head, "This isn't an amusement park ride oh, it's a real haunted house."

"Ha, Fina you've learned to scare people."

Eleazar looked back with a dry chuckle, only to realize that the playground was long gone behind him, and the noise coming from there had disappeared without a trace.

How long have they been walking in the woods?

Eleazar froze slightly and looked back again, only to find that Fina had already walked away and was standing in the barren field.

When he chased after them he realized again that the farmland had long since been turned into a graveyard, with a variety of mutilated headstones in a row under the cover of uncleared grave grass.

Eleazar sensed it without a trace, and instantly said with his scalp tingling, "Nana, it's not fun here, let's go back."

"No!"

Fina glanced at him, "You're such a big man and you're still afraid of ghosts?"

A young girl of this age is not only a glutton for punishment and a lover of beauty, but also a lover of thrilling adventures.

Eleazar's head exploded.

There was no way to persuade her to do anything but follow her through that graveyard to the front of the estate where the gate was closed.

There was someone else there, talking loudly and loudly.

A man wearing a white halter shirt, eyes shrewd, lips long two eight beard, in front of him surrounded by five dressed in plain but the body of the work of the male lead, it seems to be in the long years to carry out physical labor. Outside the crowd, a man wearing a brown trench coat is smoking silently, not far away there are two pairs of young men and women, counting the last to arrive at them, this place has gathered more than a dozen people.

That eight-bearded man compelled to the few people in front of him, "Do you know what this place used to be called, Golden Manor! A super rich big nobleman territory, because he loved gold very much in his lifetime, so the residence is also full of gold ornaments, since it was discovered, every year to come here to find treasures in an endless stream of people."

The five people in front of him stirred a bit, and a bearded man's eyes glowed.

"Is there gold in there?"

The man in the brown trench coat with deep eyes smiled calmly, "Indeed there is, the first treasure hunters who discovered this place brought out a whole 2 tons of gold and directly became a great tycoon, enjoying all the glory and wealth."

The bearded man's breath caught in his throat.

The man in the trench coat shrugged and continued, "Then a second group of people arrived, picked up what the previous group abandoned and didn't want, and became rich."

"The third group..."

"Wait!" The bearded man interrupted, asking in an anxious tone, "How many people have been here?"

The man in the trench coat laughed and said, "Too many to count, the valuable stuff has been emptied long ago."

The men in the work clothes were greatly disappointed.

The eight-bearded beard glared at the trench coat man and said in a hurry, "It is true that this place has been tumbled over, but there are still people who often find some undiscovered small things and make a small fortune, and I have reliable information that this great noble also has a batch of treasure hidden, which is only more than the gold that has been taken away, so you guys think about it carefully, as long as you can find this batch of treasure... Isn't that getting rich overnight!"

The men were suddenly breathless and once again filled with hope for life.

The trenchcoat man saw that those people did not listen to his advice, so he could only silently turn his head and swallow the clouds. The two pairs of young men and women standing not far away whispered, seemingly discussing the authenticity of that so-called reliable news.

Eleazar stared coldly for a moment, turning to an innocent-looking Fina, he asked, "I thought you said this was a haunted house?"

As soon as his voice fell, the scene was instantly silent, and everyone twisted their heads to look at him.

"Ghost... Haunted house?"

"This place is haunted!?"

The crowd instantly sucked in a breath of cold air.

"Ha." The eight-bearded man let out a snort.

"Gold, ghosts, there are rumors like that about almost every treasure, I'm getting tired of hearing about it, can't we have some novel stories?"
