Chapter 26 - Memory Erasure (Physical)

Death was the norm when encountering an active demonic spirit, and it was abnormal for him as an ordinary person to survive.

Eleazar glanced at the case he was holding.

"Turn it on."

"No!"

The eight-bearded man hurriedly wrapped the tiny heathered box in his arms in a death grip.

"This is my baby!"

Eleazar's gaze drops and he raises his hand in a direct motion.

"Wait!" Realizing what he was trying to do, Vesey hastily raised her voice to stop him.

"Pfft!" The headless body planted itself directly backward, the cuts smooth and flat, solidified by a layer of heat.

The eight-bearded man froze the expression on his face and his head rolled a few times on the floor.

"You..."

Vesey's scalp tingled as he watched, an uncontrollable chill rising from his heart.

"What's the difference between you killing randomly like this and these monsters."

Eleazar glanced at him blandly, not even bothering to explain anything.

He stepped forward and ripped the case out, fiddled with it a few times, and eased it open.

It was like opening a treasure chest, with seven-colored light emanating out.

The chest was filled with all kinds of precious stones, all of which emitted a faint glow and looked to be of extraordinary value.

All of them are transcendent materials, and these gems contain spirituality.

Eleazar backhanded a stream of gems from the chest onto the floor.

He fiddled with his expression indifferently for a moment before suddenly picking up a gem that emitted a greenish-green glow and quickly tossing it up, then half-crouching his body, he swung the invisible blade heavily in a sword-drawing stance.

"Dang!"

A crisp clash sounded.

The jewel was strangely stagnant in mid-air.

The air was suddenly heavy, like the calm before a storm, finally realizing that something was very wrong, Vessey took two steps back and was about to run away when he was viciously lifted out by a sudden shockwave.

"Ah ----"

A wail resounded through the manor, the green light spread in the sky, and uncountable souls erupted from the gems, like grievous souls that had broken free from their cages, rampaging everywhere with heartbreaking wails, the scene was shocking and suffocating.

The thing of obsession was destroyed, the demonic spirit this was considered to be truly dead, otherwise it wouldn't be long before it was able to regather its form again and continue to wreak havoc.

Amidst the dissipation of the roiling spirits, Eleazar tilted his head back, silently feeling the magic potion digest.

This one ghostly creature had allowed the magic potion to digest a tenth of it!

His frost magic potion could finally be of some use, instead of the monotonous ice resistance.

And outside the manor, there were two more of the same level... No, higher-level dark creatures.

Eleazar's eyes snapped open.

Now that the demon spirits had been dealt with, it was time to deal with the two witnesses.

Eleazar turned around coldly, but before even making a move, the female med student suddenly dropped to her knees with a 'plop'.

Eve begged tearfully, "Please, don't erase my memory, I have something very important to pursue."

Vesey was instantly full of caution and pressed the gun pouch, "What do you... What do you want!"

Eleazar picked up a crowbar at his feet and swept his gaze coldly toward him.

The investigator immediately pulled out his pistol without hesitation and was about to utter a warning when a sharp pain had already come to his wrist.

That black-haired youth appeared in front of him in the blink of an eye, covered in lingering robes, knocked his pistol away with a single stick, bent his knees with another, and when his body had dropped to the right height, the last stick came knocking hard at his head.

The force was as if it was ready to blow his brains out.

"Wait!" Vesey was suddenly out of his mind.

"Bang!"

The investigator stiffened, and then his body fell straight back.

Eleazar gave him a faint look.

The human brain is a very complex organ, and unfiltered messages are stored in this part of the hippocampus for anywhere from a few seconds to a few weeks before they enter the cortex for storage, called short-term memory.

As long as one masters the position, timing, and force generation techniques, external forces can easily empty all of this part of the short-term memory.

This technique is called memory erasure (physical)!

The female medical student, as if she had expected any resistance to be futile, knelt motionless on the ground, her head bowed and muttering.

"Can't forget, can't forget, can't forget..."

Eleazar interrupted her coldly, "Been memory wiped a few times."

She hung her head numbly, "Don't remember..."

What kind of obsession was it that made her follow her instincts to piece back together a part of those memories after she was emptied of them?

"Why pursue mystery?"

Eve looked up tearfully, "Don't remember..."

It seems that whoever handled her the first time went too hard, destroying part of it along with the deep memory.

Eleazar said with unmistakable iciness, "Your brain can't withstand the ravages anymore, and I'm not sure I can succeed all at once, or turn you into an idiot, so..."

"If you want me to help you behave yourself from now on."

Eve's pupils shrank, her mouth opened slightly, and the look on her face slowly blossomed into an unrivaled surprise that went pear-shaped.

"I'll do as I'm told, I'll do anything!"

"Pack him up and drag him back."

Eleazar gestures at the upright investigator and steps through the door.

Eve got up quickly, gritting her teeth and fighting back the pain in her feet as she walked over to the man, first retrieving the pistol, wiping off her fingerprints, and stuffing it back into the gun pouch before clasping her hands under his armpits and struggling to drag him out of the room.

By the time she was panting and dragging someone to the door, she realized that the heavy rain in the sky had ceased, only to be reflected in a shocking crimson.

In the distance, the mountains were burning, the whole forest was on fire, and the fire was shocking.

Eleazar stood expressionless in the courtyard.

In his evil perception, the breath of the Deer Head Spirit that could mobilize crows and wolves in the forest had disappeared without a trace, he didn't know whether he had been burned to death or escaped, as another kind of obsessive residue, the Deer Head Spirit never left the totem too far away, so there was a high chance that it would be burned alive by the mountain fire.

On the other hand, the cave giant's earth chirping stopped, and he didn't know where to hide. In this short while that he had resolved the Demon Spirit, the two dark creatures outside died and fled.

Turning back to the female medical student, who was also filled with surprise, he asked lightly, "What's your name?"

She immediately looked back and quickly replied, "Eve."

"Eve is it..." Eleazar glanced at her swollen-up ankle.

"Go back to the shed and tend to your wounds and don't give me any more trouble."

"Oh..."

She answered with a lowered head, then limped over to the stables at a trot.

Eleazar takes one look at the investigator on the ground, steps forward, grabs him by the pants leg and drags him straight away.

Outside the stables, Eve cowered outside the door in great alarm.

Eleazar, who was coming up behind him, stared at the ground and saw it covered with people lying on it.
