Chapter 24 - Sorrowful Cry

The group scurried outward in a sorry state.

This was not the spooky old mansion they had imagined, there was no element of mystery or adventure here, there was just blood, pure horror, and a putrid slaughterhouse.

What they saw and heard along the way, those uncountable rotting corpses, crushed their expectations and illusions mercilessly.

It is said that human guts are actually a consumable, and once used up, they become extremely blind and stupid.

Running outside into the courtyard, they panicked and turned halfway around, but they couldn't find the exit that was buried in the weeds.

The more impatient you get, the more you panic.

Instead of finding a place to go out, they turned up three more rotting and stinking corpses.

By the time Eleazar, who was carrying a man on his shoulder, came out in no hurry, he found them all on the verge of a fight.

The female medical student in the yellow hiking suit stood with her hands clasped in front of her, the two boys were accusing and cursing at each other, the trench coat man and the girl with the long orange-red hair were pulling one of them down, looking anxious to persuade each other.

Just then, the dimly lit heaven and earth suddenly lit up.

Immediately afterward, a landslide-like thunderclap exploded above the heads of the crowd, directly blasting everyone's heads blank and their eardrums in severe pain as if they were about to be pierced.

"Rumble--"

What Eleazar was trying to say was completely drowned out in the rolling thunder, and the man on his shoulder was woken up alive.

"Well, is dinner ready?"

Suzume looked around blankly and suddenly felt a slight tingling in her ears, while a warm current slowly gushed out, she subconsciously reached out and touched it.

"Blood..."

Her face was stunned, and the horror in the pupils of her eyes slowly surfaced.

But at that moment, there was a blurring of vision, and the scene around him changed rapidly.

When Lingyin came back to her senses, she realized she had reached a dimly lit roof.

In the stables, Eleazar gently lowered the stunned pair on top of him.

He looked out in silence.

A silver curtain to the sky drops down.

"Wow..."

Bean-sized raindrops poured down from the sky like a dense net.

The estate was flooded by a sudden downpour.

In just a dozen steps, the five people running back from outside were soaked to the skin.

They were no longer in the mood to argue, and each of them organized their wet clothes in silence and without words.

The 4 members of the expedition team were fine, they were all wearing hiking suits with waterproofing, and when they took their jackets off, the clothes underneath didn't get too badly wet.

Instead, the man in the trenchcoat had become a soupy mess, drops of water dripping down his pants legs like a stream.

The female medical student gave him a silent look and found a few logs in the stables before rummaging for flint and alcohol and building a fire.

"Thanks!"

He pulled his jacket off, unobtrusively revealing the gun pouch at his waist.

The faces of the crowd were stunned, their feet unconsciously stepped back, and fear appeared in their expressions.

The man in the trench coat froze and hurriedly faced everyone and introduced himself:

"Don't be afraid everyone, my name is Vesey, I'm an investigator with the city's Major Crimes Investigations Division, here are my credentials."

The credentials, emblazoned with a silver police badge, stood out very brightly in the dimly lit stable.

Having established that it was an official person, everyone settled down a little.

"So... Mr. Investigator, what is it that you are here for?" Vessey glanced at the man asking the question and said in a calm voice, "Didn't you guys already see it just now."

Everyone's faces twitched and they covered their heads in fear, as if they were only now feeling the aftermath.

Looking back now, that scene lingers in my mind like a nightmare.

Vesey smiled helplessly and relieved them:

"Don't be afraid, just go back to sleep when the rain stops."

Eleazar leaned back against the end wall with his head tilted back in silence.

Even without checking the time, he could vaguely sense that the sun was setting.

Occult, and in every sense of the word, Darkness Falls...

The eerie aura of the mansion slowly thickened, while at the same time, the distant forest faintly resounded with the cawing of crows and bursts of low hissing that came from an unknown cave.

Sensing the three dark creatures!

The color in Eleazar's eyes slowly fades.

The blood was like frozen, the body fell into coldness little by little, the heart beat sluggishly, and immediately after that, pain like burning flowed through the whole body, and uncontrollable killing intent burned the whole body like flames.

"Ah..."

He suddenly covered his head slammed it hard against the wall, and let out a scream that he didn't know whether it was in pain or pleasure.

The air trembled, and the fire in the shed went out instantly, and everyone was startled.

"You... What happened to you?"

Lingyin, who was standing beside him, extended his hand somewhat hesitantly.

Fina stopped it in a hurry and tugged her into a corner, sounding a little scared:

"Don't go over there, he's angry."

"Raw... Angry...?"

Lingyin looked hesitantly at Eleazar over there, who kept banging his head against the wall, and then twisted his head to look at his best friend, who was cowering behind himself as if hiding from something.

For some reason, a sudden sadness welled up in her heart.

On the other side, the crowd that realized Eleazar was hurting himself rushed over.

"Hey, stop, what are you doing!?"

A few people fought to stop him, but they found that he was incredibly strong and uncontrollable like a psychopath with a sudden attack, while the female medical student over there started the fire up again, and everyone then saw that the wall had been knocked out of a dent, and there wasn't even a mark on his forehead.

The crowd was appalled.

"You... Are you Ironhead!"

Eleazar, who was in the shape of a madman, suddenly stopped moving.

"They're coming..."

"What?"

The crowd looked at each other in disbelief.

The investigator turned toward the two girls in the corner and asked, "Hey, is your boyfriend the problem here?"

He pointed to his head.

Lingyin blushed and hurriedly explained, "I'm not..."

At this juncture, however, Fina tilts her head slightly, as if listening to something.

At the same time, Eleazar jerked his head around to look inside the manor.

"Ah ----"

A mournful scream cut through the rainy night.

I've heard that a mournful cry from a kindred spirit is the sound that resonates the most.

In the stables, everyone's hearts trembled and a chill rose involuntarily.

"Again... What happened again?"

These fools didn't realize for a second that the horror they were most looking forward to had already appeared.

Eleazar suddenly parted the crowd and sprinted off with incredible speed.

"Hey, stop, wait, where are you going!"

Vesey chased him to the stable door, and looking at the pouring rain in front of him, he clenched his teeth, returned and copied his jacket over his head, and rushed into the rain as well.

The female medical student watched this in disbelief, and with a sudden lowering of her body, she slipped her hood back on and ran out after her.

"Eve! Where are you going!"

The man who secretly admired her stood under the awning and shouted anxiously, and after realizing how he couldn't shout back, he hurriedly turned his head to his companion and said anxiously, "Han Qi..."

Behind him, two of his companions, with empty expressions, slowly planted their bodies.

"Hankey... Shannon..."

He stared blankly at the woman as pure as snow, expressionless, holding a red blood-stained brick.

"Nana... Why..."

In the corner of the shed, Lingyin, who had a tear hanging from the corner of her eye, had her body lying limply on the ground, and as her consciousness was about to fall into unconsciousness, she saw that the man kneeling in the doorway was hit crookedly on the head by a brick plate, and his body flew directly across the room.

"The hell... What happened..."
