"The Federation?"
'I remember my father telling me about it. It was an organisation that protected Monsters, Beasts, Nymphs, any magical being that would agree to their rules.' Jakobus thought about what his father told him when his was a young boy.
'My father used to tell me that they were together with humans in protecting the world and Dragons were the Rulers of all creatures. '
Earth, Water, Fire, Wind and Ice. Were the elements under the protection of each Dragon, and all the creatures belonging to it.
"I can't believe that you actually exist and are not just some stories of a dying old man. I beg you for help. No .... first let me tell you everything." Jakobus said.
'I don't want to hold back on any information, if my father said was correct they could help Ashur.' thought Jakobus
He told them about Loti and how she sacrificed herself for all the warriors of the Blessed. He told them how the king had killed and forbidden the mages born in his Kingdom.
"We know." Glacies said in a language he could understand "but that wasn't just this king either humans haven't treated us with respect for a long time. They are always so greedy. Always wanting more and more power.
They shouldn't be here, Mandrak you should realease them." Glacies reprimended Mandrak for her hasty decision.
"He just said my daughter sacrificed for them, how do you expect me to just let them go?!" Mandrak said desperately. "I want to know more about what happened."
"I am sorry, Mandrak, the Federation has rules, if we don't follow caos will insure. We will be no different from humans."
The Allure Mandrak took a fierce look Jakobus, and turned her face away waving her arms.
"I am sorry you have to leave. It was a mistake that you were brought here." Glacies turned to Jakobus and Alana.
"Tera my friend since you are bound to a Human you will have also to leave. But I am really happy to see you again."
Jakobus looked confused, to him the icy looking being, was addressing Alana as Tera.
" I am sorry but I really would like to request for a temporary stay, I am pretty sure something could be arranged, since you clearly have humans amongst yourselves, there must be a way to make this happen." Said Jakobus. "I don't want to let Lori sacrifice be in vain." He added.
Mandrak, that had a change of heart after hearing that her daughter sacrificed herself for a human, was determined to help Jakobus and bring justice for Loti's sacrifice, refused to accept the Glacies dismissal. She pleaded with Glacies, her eyes filled with desperation.
"I understand the rules," Mandrak implored, "but can't you see? Humans can change. We can learn to coexist with magic and respect the beings that inhabit this world. I think that my stubborn child in certain way knew that."
Glacies hesitated, her icy facade cracking slightly, still doubting a little of Mandrak motives. "Perhaps you are right," she murmured. "But it is not within my power to make such arrangements. You must understand, there are forces at play beyond my control."
Mandrak refused to be deterred. "Then take me to the Elders," she insisted. "Surely there must be someone within the Federation Elders who can see the value in uniting humans and magical beings."
Glacies considered for a moment before nodding reluctantly. "Very well," she conceded. "I will take you to the Council of Elders. They hold the power to make decisions regarding the fate of our world, even though I do know where they stand right now" she said glacing at Alana/Tera.
Excitement bubbled in Jakobus chest as they all followed the Glacies through a hidden passageway.
Mandrak in her own way, could only hope that her daughter sacrificed would be avenged.
Finally, they reached a vast chamber, where the Council of Elders Dragons convened.
The Elders dragons were an imposing sight, their long white beards cascading down their incredible huge bodies as they deliberated over pressing matters. They turned to look at Mandrak, Alana, the human mage, Jakobus and Glacies, their eyes filled with wisdom and curiosity.
"Why have you brought these humans before us?" one of the Elder Dragon spoke, his voice resonating with power.
Mandrak took a deep breath, summoning her courage. "I come with a plea for understanding," she began. "Humans have made mistakes, but we along them have the capacity for change. Allow us a chance to rectify our past and embrace the magic that dwells within both our worlds."
The Council fell into a hushed silence, contemplating Mandrak's impassioned words. Suddenly, an Elder rose from his place, his voice filled with authority.
"Why do I feel that's something here more than mere humans." He pointed at Alana and demanded. "Show yourself, hiding your presence is a disrespect in front of the council.
Glacies flinched. As Tera made her aura noticeable.
The council gasped as they felt the aura. All looking at one direction. One of the Elders dragon, he was quite until now, recollected, until he felt Tera's aura.
He raised himself from his place, standing forward. "You cameback." He said
"I didn't, I was brought back! " Tera answered.
"You still angry?" The elder dragon asked.
"Are you still against it?." She asked.
"Child is not that simple....I ..." He said clearly saddened. "This is something we have to discuss later in private." He said.
"Mandrak speaks truth," he declared. "We have witnessed the atrocities committed by our own kind and by humans, the longing for power that has marred our world. But, there's always room for change, we have long before worked closely with humans, forming bonds, but because of greed that uncontrollable power brings we had to severe that bond. Mandrak, we shall grant you your request."
Mandrak's heart soared with hope. "What must I do?" she asked eagerly.
The Elder smiled, his eyes sparkling with ancient wisdom. "You shall become our ambassador," he announced. "It will be your mission to bridge the gap between humans and magical beings.Tera and her ...host... we will be your correspondent in the human world."
Mandrak felt a surge of gratitude and determination. She would embrace her role as ambassador, supporting Ashur mission, as Jakobus described. With the support of the Elders and the Federation, she knew that there was nothing holding her back from avenging her daughter.
"Now we should resume to our tasks of the day, Glacies accommodated the humans to their rooms. And Tera..." He said with. Authority in his voice. "..Come to find me later, and that's not a request."
