The federation was made to protect the existence of beings that needed a safe haven, or wanted to feel secure from other monsters that lived in the human realm, anyone, any kind was welcome.
It didn't mean that there weren't disagreements, it was just that they weren't escalated, they were immediately resolved.
It has been 4 days since they were brought into the federation realm. Jakobus was taking the opportunity to learn everything he could and gather all the Information he could about the beings on the federation side.
On the other hand, Alana has been closed in her room, she hasn't been able to sleep for the most of the time, she kept having dreams about people she didn't know who kept telling her she had to run and live, and of a war where she could see Rahul, Malaica, Yanos, little Thomas, little Edah, Tâmiah and all of the people she knew and cared being attacked and sometimes overpowered.
Everytime she went to their aid she would fail to help them, but whenever she took Ashur's hand she was successful.
She couldn't understand why taking his hand would it make everyone safe instead of going to save them, also why she was having dreams with people she didn't know but at same time seemed familiar.
Someone knocked the door of Alana's bedroom, startled Alana looked up from her thoughts and called out, "Who is it?"
"It's Jakobus," came the reply from outside the door.
Alana hesitated for a moment before getting up to answer. She opened the door to find Jakobus standing there, with a concerned expression on his face.
" Lady Alana," he said gently. "I noticed you've been keeping yourself in the room, is everything okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," she replied, avoiding Jakobus' gaze.
Jakobus didn't seem convinced. "You know, it's okay to talk about what's bothering you. Right now, you are the Lady, remember?"
Alana sighed and finally looked directly at Jakobus. "I've been having these dreams," she admitted, her cold voice wavering slightly. "Dreams about strangers who tell me to live, and about a war where everyone I care about is in danger. And the strange thing about the dream is, the only way to save everyone I care about, is if I take Ashur's hand."
Jakobus furrowed his brow, trying to grasp the meaning about those dreams. "So, first it seems like you having two different dreams, one who is telling that is important for you to live, and the other where you feel like you can't protect anyone unless you're with Ashur, right?" he asked gently.
Alana seemed like she was pondering about what Jakobus had just said."Yes, exactly. But I don't understand why. It doesn't make sense."
Jakobus sat down in front of Alana, making himself more comfortable,"Sometimes, dreams can be cryptic and confusing. They might symbolize our fears and insecurities rather than literal events. Maybe this dream is trying to tell you that you don't have to face everything alone, that sometimes relying on others can lead to success. That's why one part is telling you that you have to live, the other is probably showing you how."
Alana looked amazed at Jakobus, even her cold fassade could not hide it "But what if he doesn't want to help me? It's not like we can trust eachother just like that and because of a dream." She wondered.
Jakobus smiled reassuringly. "Well I have known Ashur my entire life, he is kind and he cares about his people, if he sees that you share the same feelings, I am sure he will not hesitate to help you.
He cares about his people more than he cares about himself, maybe in away you are what he needs also, he carries a burden that in a long run it will be to heavy for him to carry alone. If he has someone by his side supporting him, it will be easier."
Alana took a deep breath, she had the feeling that she needed to be stronger.
" I need to become stronger." She said seriously.
Jakobus raised his brows his confusion was evident but decided not question her. "I see"
"Do you want to spar with me?"
Alana's question caught Jakobus off guard. He hadn't expected her to ask him that, especially considering his initial distrust ofof her. But he was always up for a good spar.
"I would be happy to spar with you," Jakobus replied, a small smile forming on his face. "But let's set some ground rules first. Only swords and let's agree to go at a controlled pace. We don't want to injure each other, after all."
Alana nodded in agreement. "Agreed. Let's start."
They found an open area nearby and began their spar. Jakobus noticed that Alana had great endurance but lacked strength and technique. He decided to focus on training her physical capabilities first before delving into more advanced combat techniques.
For the next hour, they exchanged blows, practiced dodging and blocking, and worked on their footwork. Despite of his initial reservations towards her, they found themselves developing a sort of rhythm and trust, even if only in their training.
As they took a break, Alana wiped the sweat from her brow, with a determined look in her eyes. "Thank you, Jakobus. I really needed that, my weapon of choice is never a sword, but I feel like it would help Te... me alot ,if I learn the technique.
Jakobus nodded in acknowledgement. He noticed Alana slip of the tongue, "Yes, Tera will find it useful." He grinned mischievously.
Alana couldn't hide her suprised face. She pondered if she should pretend not to understand him, however she also knew that she couldn't let fear and doubt hold her back any longer. "I.. " she sighted, " so you know?"
Jakobus nodded," I have seen you fight against a Hobgoblin, and defeat it, you fought Ashur and lived, I am pretty sure everyone knows." He says. " I am just not sure what and how."
Alana looked away her heart was racing, her mind was filled with memories of the town people, from her uncle side, calling her monster...
"But .. " Jakobus continued, "whatever it is I know you used it to protect everyone including by baby brother. For that I thank you."
"I... I didn't do much, she... Tera was the one who saved everyone, I am not that strong. She is a ..dragon, that I soulbounded." She was looking down when she was gathering courage to tell him, she looked up expecting to see a disgusted face, because he was silent.
To her surprise he looked thrilled. " You soulbounded with a dragon, how? When? How was it? Did it hurt? Wow. Can you control it, can it control you? Can you communicate? Is that why you could talk with the Allures, and the dragons? So, are you 100 %human? .." he suddenly cleared his throat thinking he had gone too far.
Alana that was flabbergasted by his excitement, couldn't help but to laugh.
She cleared her throat, " I am sorry, that was not the reaction I was expecting at all."
He laughed.
Alana calmly answered all his questions, Jakobus couldn't help to make even more and more questions, some Alana had no idea how to answer, the others were a little bit too strange. Nonetheless she made an effort to answer every question seriously.
Alana finally was relieved that she could tell someone about it.
"I would love to spar with Tera, she is amazing."
Tera was jumping happily she was indeed amazing and someone else besides Alana was aknowlegding that.
"Could I talk with her?" He asked
"I.." Alana was suddenly interrupted by an overly excited Tera. "Of course. Nice to meet you Human. You are quite interesting."
He was surprised, that's not the idea he had of dragon. He laughed, "Nice to meet you Tera. So there's no actual difference when you change."
"Same bodies different souls."she reply promptly. " I heard you wanted to spar", her eyes glowed red.
"That wouldn't be a very fair spar." A voice from behind spoke in a rude tone.
Alana and Jakobus turned to see a dragon in a humanoid figure just like Glacies, this one was blueish but had more green undertones.
"Aque." Tera said, Jakobus kept looking between them.
"So it's true, you really did soulbound with a human.
I will fight you instead." Aque said making himself ready.
