Chapter 5 - 5. The commotion between two sisters

Luna was done with the last slice of melon. What she needed next was a thick mayonnaise sauce that was also slightly sweet. It was not a healthy food, but she needed something sweet to keep her heart from getting worse and her mind from getting tangled.

The girl had just taken out a bottle of mayonnaise sauce and milk from the food fridge when someone walked in, and it made Luna a little shocked to find out who it was. Her lips pressed tightly together, and her body stiffened.

Joshua, who was equally as rigid as Luna, greeted her "Hello."

Luna didn't answer. She pushed open the fridge door and turned around. toward the table where her fruit salad container was. Luna tried to ignore Joshua by busying herself with making the dressing for her salad.

Joshua stepped over to the shelf where the glasses and cups were. He took one of the mugs and began to brew coffee. Joshua couldn't help but talk because the situation was so awkward.

"How are you?" asked Joshua, who was staring at Luna's back.

Luna bit her lip firmly. She felt like she wanted to convey her anguish and rage. Pride kept her from doing anything over the edge. But Luna couldn't keep quiet.

"Fine," Luna replied shortly.

Joshua nodded and then confused himself to continue the conversation.

"Where's the cream for the coffee?" asked Joshua. He was busy checking the upper shelves.

Luna immediately turned around with a frown on her forehead.

"Since when is your coffee sweet?"

Joshua smiled faintly and slightly mischievously.

"Not for me. Leah asked for coffee with cream."

Previously, even though she was suffering from a bad cold, Joshua refused to make her ginger tea. Luna questioned in her heart if Joshua was truly in love with her sister and if the reason he had stayed as her boyfriend all this time was simply that he didn't want to leave her.

Luna looked down and unconsciously let out a sigh, having thought of the second possibility. If so, she was a loser from the beginning of the relationship, which was unfortunate.

"Are you okay?"

Luna's body jerked in shock at Joshua's hand touching her shoulder. Luna automatically turned around and moved a little to put some distance between herself and Joshua.

"Yeah? What's wrong?" asked a dazed Luna. "Oh, cream. Just a moment."

Luna walked over to one of the food shelves and picked up a jar of powdered cream that Leah used for her coffee. The girl stared at the bottle of cream powder with her mind drifting. She was hesitant to say the thing that was on her mind but also unable to help it because it made her heart ache.

"Are you okay?"

For the second time, Luna was startled. Joshua was already standing next to her.

"Since when did you love Leah?"

Luna forced herself to gaze up at Joshua, challenging the man's eyes, which now had thin sideburns. For this one, Luna was surprised, but she hid it. Joshua was a perfectionist, and the sideburns were his imperfections. It seemed like her sister's influence on her boyfriend was so big that it changed Joshua a lot.

"I don't have to answer that, do I? It's too private to answer," Joshua replied in a thoughtful manner.

"I should know. At least I can count how long I've been made a loser by you."

"Nobody made you a loser, darling."

When she heard the word "darling," Luna's stomach began to churn and shake as if a blender had just invaded her body. Although Luna really wanted to spit it out, she controlled herself.

"Just answer my questions honestly. That is, if you have any honesty left for me," Luna pleaded with sharp sarcasm.

Joshua took a deep breath with his head half-bowed. It was difficult to give an answer. It was because he understood that whatever the response, it would cease to be meaningful.

"You still don't want to answer?" Luna was getting annoyed. She folded her arms across her chest, a gesture Luna usually did when anger had crept up on her.

"It's not that; it's just that. This doesn't need to be discussed anymore, does it?"

"It needs to be for me."

"What's the point? It'll only hurt your feelings," Joshua said.

"And what do you think you're doing right now? Having fun with me? Or are you doing anything that could make me so pleased that I would fly to the seventh heaven? I know, I know. Tomorrow's wedding is your and my wedding. This is all just a prank. Isn't it?"

Luna's voice increased unconsciously, and her eyelids lifted. Her body also drew closer to Joshua, her demeanor defiant with her head firmly cocked. Even if it increased the tension, Luna didn't care.

Joshua was completely cornered. Luna's closeness made Joshua even more unable to speak. The girl's pain was so obvious from the look in her eyes. Joshua was truly being punished, and Luna was the prosecutor.

"You've hurt me too much, Josh! I don't know what I did wrong. I can't remember anymore which fuss made you antagonize me, which made you cheat on me. You know what's worse? It's that you married my sister!"

"What's wrong with marrying me?"

Unexpectedly, a question sprang up out of the blue. Joshua and Luna turned to look at the door right away. Leah was standing there with her hair bunned haphazardly and wrapped up in an upward ponytail so that it was flowing naughtily around her face.

Leah approached. Her gaze alternated between her sister and her intended husband. The expression was flat. It was quiet on the outside but chaotic on the inside. She stood deliberately next to Joshua. Her delicate fingers, moving slowly, infiltrated Joshua's arm. It was a purposeful gesture for her sister to see the intimacy she was creating.

"So, what's wrong, little sister, with your ex-boyfriend marrying me?" Leah leaned her head against Joshua's arm. Her brown eyes flashed mockery.

As if ignoring her sister, Luna said to Joshua, "Even until this moment, you didn't say the word break up over our relationship. Even on the day I received the invitation card, two nights before, you still said that you loved me very much."

Leah, who was still clinging to Joshua's arm, resented being able to sense the worry in her future husband's heart.

"So what do you want, Sis? The word break up A statement that my future husband has no love for you? Joshua is not that bad, Sis. That's why I accepted his proposal to become his wife."

Leah took up the role of Joshua's spokeswoman, but Joshua didn't appear to pay attention.

"I'm sorry." Joshua spoke without turning his gaze away from Luna.

"You don't need to apologize, Josh!" snapped Leah, who didn't like her future husband's weakness.

"You really don't need to apologize, Josh," Luna interjected. "Because it's not important. All I'm asking for is an explanation. But you seem to be too weak to talk. You're basically a coward. I'm lucky I didn't keep you, because to me right now, you're nothing more than a piece of trash."

Having had her fill of scathing words, Luna turned away. She was disgusted and sickened, and the sight of these two only made her even more hurt.

Leah, however, stopped Luna right away. She raised her right hand in readiness to slap Luna as she stood immediately in front of her.

Plak!

A very hard slap landed on Luna's white cheek. It created a fiery red color that felt both hot and stinging on Luna's cheek.

"Stop talking too much! This is just a little slap for you for being so insolent toward my future husband. If you're not sincere about your current situation, you have plenty of options to vent.

Visit a club, for instance. There will definitely be lots of men prepared to offer you the warmth you desire. Even the fulfillment you crave. That's simple, right? So there's no need for you to interfere with my and Joshua's happiness," said Leah.

"That's your only advice?" Luna's lips curled into a slant. A head turn to Joshua and a mocking query follow.

"How many times have you tasted my sister's body?" Luna asked with an increasingly sardonic smile.

"Fuck you, Luna!"

An enraged Leah grasped Luna's hair with both hands. This time, Luna didn't want to stay silent; she also grabbed her sister's hair with full force. They exchanged curses and insults.

Leah managed to punch her sister in the face, making Luna stagger. Not accepting that her face was hit twice, Luna screamed and was about to retaliate.

But Joshua immediately stood in the way of Luna's movement and protected Leah. That made Luna's anger even more intense. She punched and kicked Joshua recklessly with endless cursing.

"Luna, stop!!!"
