Chereads / No Ex, Only You / Chapter 10 - 10. I'm Fine

Chapter 10 - 10. I'm Fine

"I don't know enough about that." Jared gave his safe answer and resumed applying Luna's makeup.

"You know, but you don't want to tell, is that it?"

"Because it's none of my business or anything to do with Galen, he should be the one to tell you. Now open your eyes. I'm going to turn the chair around," Jared said with a satisfied smile on Leah's face.

The chair was turned to face the vanity mirror, and Leah was stunned by her reflection in the mirror. It wasn't excessive make-up, nor was it thick, but it was a soft make-up that made Leah extremely beautiful.

"Now we're going to do your hair," said Jared, who began to wet Luna's hair with a vitamin spray.

Without ever having been colored, Luna's hair was incredibly silky and healthy. Jared didn't do much, other than tidy it up and put a pearl barrette in the girl's hair. Then Luna put on the dress of her choice, and Jared helped with tidying up.

Jared didn't do anything for Luna. The girl was naturally beautiful, with very little polish. With just a few touches to her face and hair, the girl instantly radiated an aura of natural beauty.

"Ahhh, right on time," Jared said after looking at the time on his smartphone while checking for incoming messages. "Galen's waiting downstairs. You ready?"

Luna nodded weakly, and Jared took her arm. She had an odd nervousness, appearing out of nowhere. Even though it was only a game, this dinner gave the impression that it would have a significant impact on her life in the future.

Luna was startled to see Galen standing outside the lift doors as they reached the first floor and opened. Their eyes locked with a hidden sense of awe.

Galen was wearing a dark silk shirt that seemed to cling tightly to his muscular body. The outside was a dark blue suit, matching the color of Luna's dress. There were no major changes to Galen other than that the man looked more handsome and dashing than the last time Luna had seen him.

On the other side, Galen saw a significant change in Luna. The Luna he saw last night was a young woman who appeared to be flawlessly gorgeous in her natural state. This time is very different. After makeup, Luna's beauty was much more vibrant and radiant.

"Are you ready?" Galen asked softly.

Luna couldn't say anything in response to the man's deep, heavy voice. The girl responded with a weak nod of her head. Galen extended his hand, forming an elbow. Luna understood that. Awkwardly, Luna's hand reached out and curled around Galen's arm.

People in the salon began to stare at the couple and mutter comments about how beautiful they were as a couple, expressing both adoration and envy. Jared continued to lead the adorable couple outside.

"Thank you for making me beautiful," Luna said sincerely.

Jared gave a big smile at Luna's gesture and gave Galen a quick glance to let him know he liked the new girl Galen had brought along as a mystery.

"You're already beautiful, darling. I hope to hear from you after dinner tonight."

Luna just smiled and got into the car. Jared approached Galen, his expression very serious.

"It looks like something has happened to the sisters."

"What do you mean?" asked Galen, not understanding.

"Right now, the marks won't be visible because I covered them up with make-up. But there was a dark blue mark near her jaw earlier. I'm sure it wasn't from the fall."

Galen stared at his car. From where he was, he couldn't see Luna, though there was guilt in his heart after hearing Jared.

"I'll go first," said Galen, and he followed Luna into the car.

Galen and Luna sat side by side in the back seat. The car was moving at a steady speed.

Luna was still busy texting with her mother, who was getting ready to leave. The girl reminded her mother not to say anything about dinner out. Luckily, Margo said that Leah and Joshua had gone to the hotel to make sure the decorations for the reception were set up the way they wanted them. So, Margo and Daniel didn't need to meet and didn't need to explain anything to Leah.

Luna put her mobile phone into the small bag Galen had also bought her as an extra complement. Luna felt immediately captured in Galen's dark eyes as soon as her head turned to look at him.

The man with the stern face looked at Luna without blinking. Even Galen wasn't surprised when his eyes and Luna's met. That's what made Luna go wrong. She felt like she was being controlled by Galen.

"Are you okay?" asked Galen, breaking the uneasy silence.

"Mmm, yes. I'm fine," Luna replied with a small, forced smile.

Galen sighed and unexpectedly shifted his seat, getting closer to Luna. Galen's right hand casually rested on the back of the car seat, behind Leah's head. He also leaned close to Luna's face with his body.

Galen's warm exhale, hitting Luna's face, made the girl nervous. She could make out Galen's face and lips with extreme clarity. Thick lips that felt chewy enough to bite into.

Luna hurriedly turned her head away as her fantasy grew strange and unreal. Galen, though, grabbed her face with his left hand before she could actually turn away. Luna's small face seemed to sink into Galen's palm.

His thumb brushed Luna's cheek from top to bottom, not far from her jaw and neck. Luna winced up to that point since the area Leah had punched caused her pain.

"Hurts?" asked Galen softly.

Like a child, Luna just nodded. Her lips struggled to make a sound because of Galen.

"Why? It's not because of the fall. Isn't it?"

Luna had to stop the melancholy scene. She was beginning to dislike the situation. Luna dismissed Galen's hand and took a breath.

"I'm fine, and it has nothing to do with you. Oh, yeah, before we go to the restaurant, we need to talk about something," Luna said firmly.

"Okay, what is it?" asked Galen, who then pulled away, keeping his distance from Luna.

Galen didn't know that it was a relief to Luna.

"Explanations and agreements," Luna replied.
