Chereads / Ruin of the Elites / Chapter 12 - Twelve

Chapter 12 - Twelve

Today's top headlines, Elite families are exposed. All thanks to me and my people. I wonder if any Elite can figure out it's me with Viper still trapped in here. Probably not. Even if they find out it will be too late.

I grin gazing at the phone. The only thing that disappointed me was the Drakos family. There isn't any news of them although they have the darkest history. People on the top have more power than I imagined. I should be careful. I missed something very important and Drakos sure is something. That damm Valentine Drakos is going to be a hell of a challenge. Nevertheless, I will come up with something. Either I will drag him down or I will kill him.

Texting Deo I waited for him to open up. Instead of him, Seraphina opened the door. She is wearing a pretty pink dress and her hair is in braids. Looks like she was getting along with Deo. Good thing that at least she is not traumatized by being scared of men or maybe Deo formed a good bond with her. I smiled at her and her eyes brightened up finding me.

"He is working." Said Seraphina letting me in.

"Oh, alright. How are you doing?" I ask softly.

"I am good."

"Really? Is there something bothering you?"

Seraphina paused thinking about something and I thought she wouldn't tell me but she admitted her concern softly"What if they find me again?"

"Don't worry princess no one will touch you until you are with us," I assured her. She nods giving me a quick hug.

Once we got into the living room, Deo greeted me. I spread my arms for him, he smirked wrapped his arms around me, and squeezed me. Pulling away I pat his tattooed arm.

Should I get a tattoo too?

"You look happy?"He asked.

"I did something that Elites never thought would be possible," I said.

He raised his eyebrow, and Seraphina looked at me with curiosity. She won't like it if I tell her since she is Elite. After a while a realization hit Deo. Looks like he heard about the news.

"It was you. You did pretty bad damage on Elites. It will cause war too." Said Deo. He doesn't look much bothered by the fact. But I didn't miss the pride evident in his tone. It made me feel more confident about my decision. Seraphina looks at me with her big eyes filled with curiosity. I pat her head.

"I don't care, at least it will take their attention away for some time until then I can form a different plan," I said.

"You are doing a good job for your territory."

He chuckles. I pause and stare at him in administration. He laughs pretty too. Realizing what he did his face turned emotionless again. I wrapped my arms around him, giving him a gentle squeeze.

"Don't be like that, you look gorgeous with a smile." I compliment.

"Thanks, Goddess." He said with a sigh.

"Usually people like you have a bad past, I won't ask or assume anything but I am here for you."

His body tense up a bit so I let him go and raised my arms in surrender. He shook his head and placed his palm on my cheek. An emotion passed through his eyes, hope or care I all not sure about it.

"I appreciate." He whispered.

"No more sad talking. Since I pulled off a big stunt let's celebrate and Seraphina will have a break too." I offered.

"Good idea. How do you want to celebrate it?"

"Let's go to my favorite restaurant. We will have a small party and I will pay." I said and gazed at Seraphina. "If you don't want to go out then you can refuse, we will change the plans. Besides we need to buy you some clothes."

She shook her head and gave us a small smile. "I am fine."

With a nod, I ordered the cab. Once we reached the restaurant we ordered the food while having a casual chat.

Until my best friend entered the restaurant and set her glared at me. I gulp. Storming towards me she grabbed me by the collar gaining the attention of Deo and Seraphina. Deo was quick to stand up glaring at her. I pressed my palm on his shoulder gently pressing him down. He didn't move. Seraphina stood up alert. The owner just shook her head in disbelief done with our usual drama. At least she is used to me and Janet's constant fight.

"You traitor. How dare you?" She demands.

"Calm down, you moron." I rolled my eyes. And slapped her hands off me.

"I thought you loved me but this is betrayal bitch." She glared at me.

"You have a fiance in case you forgot." I pointed out.

"He is trash that will be disposed of soon. Now give me a good answer or you are dead."

"Let me explain."

"No, you never said anything about a boyfriend and now I see you with a kid," she said pointing at Seraphina. She dramatically placed her palm on her chest. "I didn't know you had a family."

"He is not by boyfriend and she is not my kid. Just sit. I will explain."

She paused narrowing her eyes. I told there of them to sit down but they didn't listen to me at all. I grabbed Janet by her shoulder and made her sit on the chair. Deo and Seraphina sat down after me. Deo is still glaring at her.

"Your boyfriend has the same look on his face when Dad is ready to kill someone." She said. Seraphina looked down nervously. When Janet's gaze fell on Seraphina a recognition flickered her her eyes.

"Hold up. It's Flint." She gasped.

"And this guy is Deo and he is my friend, the one who is helping me," I said introducing him. "And Deo, she is Janet unfortunately my best friend," I said to Deo receiving a slap on my shoulder from Janet. Deo looks confused. I smiled at him.

"Don't mind us, it's our task to fight for no reason," I explained. He nods.

"You are a liar. You guys are something." Janet said leaning towards us. I flicked her forehead.

"Don't do that, idiot."

"Don't start to fight again, moron."

"Fine, but Flint isn't going back yet?" Janet asked seriously.

"It will take a few days to arrange everything," replied Deo.

"Right, it's not easy. By the way Jade, Elites are going crazy." Janet said with a grin. She showed the news on her phone.

"We did a good job. But need to figure out something else soon."

"Don't worry, we will figure something out. By the way, we have a meeting."

"Alright, they must not be happy. Are they?"

"No, few of them have good responses while others can betray us."

"Then get the list of people who can betray us. Get rid of them."I offered.

"Smart girl. I will keep them at bay. Anyway, let's chill."

Once we got our orders we finished our food. On the way, we ended up eating ice cream. Janet soon left us alone. It was already nighttime when we got back to Deo's apartment. Tucking Seraphina on the bed we end up on the sofa sitting lazily. I rested my head on his shoulder. Aren't we getting much more comfortable than needed? He doesn't mind at least.

"Stay here for tonight, it's late anyway. No and intentions." He said.

"Grandpa and mom will be worried. They are overprotective so I will be hunted down and you will be in danger."

"Tch, I am not someone people can touch. You don't need to worry about it."

"Don't say it. Even if you are strong I wouldn't put you in danger, and it includes my family too."

I glance up at him meeting his eyes, his gaze has softened, and a comfortable silence falls over us. With a smile, I look away resting my gaze outside the window. The stars are twinkling.

I feel comfortable around him and safe too.

"It feels like I have known you forever."

I felt a kiss pressed on the top of my head. I closed my eyes.

"Me too, My goddess."
