Once Jade left Deo stood and sat in his living room staring out of the window. His thoughts wandered around his family. He had lived far away from his family for days and now he felt like meeting them for once. His thoughts get interrupted by a call. Checking caller ID he sighed and picked it up.
"Boss, someone is trying to attack the territories we are trying to protect." His man informed him.
"Catch them. I am coming." Deo ordered.
"Okay, boss. I will send you the location."
Putting on his jacket and tucking his gun Deo rides toward the location sent by his man. Getting to the place he found his man surrounding a group of people wearing assassin clothes. The men who caught this person were working under Jade in the meantime. Once he reached them his man gave him a bow. The assassins felt a sense of fear after gazing at Deo's straight face. Their sense screamed danger.
"Sir, they were invading the territory. They refused to give any information." his man said.
"Ask them again and cut their part of the body if they refuse to speak. And if they won't speak then kill them." Deo orders.
"You can kill us but we won't give you any information." The Assassin said with a smirk.
Deo didn't give him any expression and tilted his head bored.
"I already know who you are and I can find the person who sent you easily," Deo replied.
The assassin around him chuckled thinking he was playing around. Deo's expression didn't falter.
"You are joking. Why would you order your man to torture us then?" The assassin kicked him.
"Seeing people getting tortured is fun. Let's see which one of you can withstand until the end, your price will be getting tortured for 24 hours then I will kill you." Deo replied with no emotions in his tone.
The Assassin's smiles wiped out their faces. A chill ran down the back of my spine. They had felt this aura from the leader of the Elites too but unlike him, Deo doesn't show any emotions. Coming here was their terrible mistake but there is no turning back now.
"You are a psychopath. You are crazy." The Assassin yelled.
"Be grateful I am not torturing you. I am giving you a peaceful death."
Deo didn't wait and walked back to his car. Leaning in his car he dialed a number of his close Aide.
"Looks like you remember your dad isn't dead yet." The rough voice spoke with humor.
"Assassins are attacking Slaughter territory. Why and who?" Deo demands ignoring his father's tone. His dad chuckles.
"Come on my son. You call me to ask about such pursuits. No hi or hello?"
"I know you are very well. Now give me my answer."
"Well the head of the Assassins guild wasn't happy getting threatened so he sent his people to check out the area of location where the person is."
Deo thought about Jade exposing Elites and the information she had. It was top secret and no one was supposed to know. Deo's smiled realizing the girl he was protecting did. He is impressed but yet it felt reckless move. Knowing Jade well he let it go because he knew that Jade might have thought about it. Besides she already kept the soldiers up to catch them.
"Deo. Do you know who did it?"His father's voice cut his thoughts off.
"I will talk to you later bye," Deo said cutting off the call. His dad will find out about it either way so he doesn't care. The thoughts of the people screaming behind him rise as time passes by. Deo smiled enjoying the death of the people who tried to harm Jade.
"Until I am alive, no one can touch My goddesses," Deo whispered.
...
The next day Deo woke up hearing the noise in the kitchen. Groaning he got up from the bed and washed himself up. When he entered the kitchen he found Seraphina baking cookies. He leaned on the wall and gazed at her silently until her gaze landed on him and she flinched. Deo noticed it but shook his head thinking she must be traumatized by recent incidents.
"Good morning. I thought I would back something for you and Jade to thank you both." Seraphina said with her voice cracking. She has been living with him for a while now but she can't read him making her scared. Honestly, she had never seen such a dangerous man before. She sure saw people hurting her but Deo's silence was something she couldn't get used to.
"You don't have to and don't go in the kitchen alone you might get hurt," Deo said blankly making Seraphina sad.
"I am sorry."
Deo approaches her and pats her head with his rough hands. Seraphina placed her palm on her head and blushed a little. Checking cookies Deo texted Jade to come to his apartment. Deo started preparing food meanwhile Seraphina tried to help him. Deo let her not wanting to make her sad. When they were done they heard a doorbell ring. Seraphina followed Deo to the door wanting to see Jade.
Jade got in with a bright smile while Janet followed her in. A smile made its way on Deo's face as Jade wrapped her slender arms around him. Deo hugged her back tightly.
"I guess you missed me. Doesn't matter I wanted to see you," said Jade. Janet glared at the back of Jade only wanting to bother Jade.
"You never hugged me like this. You are seriously cheating on me." Janet said making Jade roll her eyes. Pulling away from Deo Jade spread her arms for Seraphina making her giggle and throwing herself on Jade.
"Nice to see you, kid. You look happy now." Jade comments making a small conversation with her.
Meanwhile, Janet grinned at Deo mischievously. Her mission is to find out the truth about Jade and Deo. She nudged Deo making him look at her.
"So what do you say, bro? My friend is hot." Janet said proudly. Deo gaze lands back on Jade.
"She is a goddess." He replied making Janet smirk.
"I see where this is going and I like it."
"Let's eat I prepared food and Seraphina made cookies for us," Deo said clearing his throat. Unlike Jade, he isn't comfortable talking with other people. And he doesn't care until it comes to Jade. Jade picked up Seraphina leading them into the kitchen. Deo pulled out the chair for Jade after she placed Seraphina on her chair.
Janet observed them with a faint smile. She acknowledged that Deo was comfortable and talkative with Jade. Even Seraphina realized it after watching them together, a warm feeling rose in her chest thinking someday she would find a man like him. Maybe one day someone will protect her.
The thought made her heart feel warm.
