Chereads / Ruin of the Elites / Chapter 16 - SIXTEEN

Chapter 16 - SIXTEEN

Ronnie stood outside the room guarding Mom in case she needed us. While I and Grandpa got settled in the living room. Grandpa didn't like the idea of leaving Mom with Dante but he agreed because of me. I don't care if any of them are upset, I am the one who is most upset here. I never knew about my father who is Elite. I am a daughter of an Elite family. Never thought about it before. I don't know what should I feel about it.

"Tell me did you never think I have the right to know about my own Father?" I asked him. Grandpa flinched.

"That man's brother Dimitri killed my only son and he didn't give the head of the killer to me," confessed Grandpa. I didn't know about my uncle. Hell, I didn't know about my dad.

"So you didn't think I needed to know my father."

"No Jade. Your mom ran away because his men were trying to kill her."

This is going to be more complicated. I nod at Grandpa but Dante looks sad, so the whole story is something else. Maybe they don't know the whole truth. Silence spread us. Dante, Mom, and Ronnie got in after a while. I leaned back on the sofa and glanced at Dante and Mom's black face. Grandpa tensed up again seeing Dante. Ronnie sat beside me with his arm rating behind me. His face is blank as usual.

"Jade," Mom whispered.

"I am upset," I said.

"I am so sorry Jade but I didn't want you to go to the place where you will die." Said Mom.

"Dimitri killed my uncle and mom ran away while she was pregnant to save me. What are other things I should know?"I question.

"I didn't know about any of it. All I knew was Enzo was trying to kill us and Dimitri protected us." Dante said.

"It was a lie. My brother died while protecting me from your brother. Then you tried to kill me too." Mom protested.

"Enzo will never hurt his sister's family unless she is at the harm," Grandpa said firmly.

"Are you guys kids? You should know how to handle situations rather than running away." I scolded them and added looking at Dad. "You think your wife will lie."

Dante looked away with an audible sigh. He nods after a while.

"I will look into it and if Dimitri is at fault then I will drag him to you," Dante promised Mom.

"Too late to say such things." Grandpa snapped.

"Please. Calm down and solve the problem." I told them in a cold voice. No one said anything.

"Jade, can I come to see you?" Dante questions. I roll my eyes.

"Solve this mess up then I will think about it," I replied. Dante's face falls but he nods anyway. "Then I am taking my leave, and next time I will come after solving this mess up."

Dante said his eyes still on me. Grandpa nods at him. Mom turned away leaving us alone. Ronnie followed Mom to check on her. Dante walked out and I followed him after a while. Hopefully I can see him.

"I will be staying at Janet until you guys are done with these things," I informed a guard who nodded politely.

Getting out I found Dad leaning on his car. He straightened up when he found me, and a smile formed on his lips. The guards noticed me and bowed while keeping their eyes on Dante. I approach him still not knowing what to do.

"Should we kick them out, Capo?" The guard asked.

"I will deal with him. You guys can leave." I said with a smile. They complied with my orders.

"I am so sorry Jade but trust me I never knew about your birth." He said.

"I understand. I hope you find out the truth or I will be stepping up," I told him.

"Do you are the Capo of Slaughter." He said with a fear evident in his tone.

"Don't worry about it. It was my decision and I won't give up on it."

"Then you won't be coming with me."

"I am not giving up my position. I am Grandpa's only heir and since your brother killed him I will make it up to Grandpa as your daughter."

"I understand. But can we hang out together?"

"Of course once I feel better."

Dante nods but I notice a sadness in him. I was in no mood to assure him but I gave him a small smile. Dante looked determined as he left the house. And for me, I walked out towards a random destination with my thoughts in a mess. My dad never abandoned me not he was dead. It was a misunderstanding. I chuckle. I am not going back until my head is clear and they will find me at Janet easily so the last option is Deo. And I know he will never let me down.

The rain started pouring making me wet from head to toe before I could reach Deo's apartment. Deo opened the door before I could call him. His eyes narrow finding me in very bad shape. He let me in placed a towel on my head and left me. I rubbed my head trying to get rid of water. My body started shivering. Deo came back after a while with a few more towels. I thanked him.

"I prepared hot water. Go on take the bath." He said softly.

I walked into the bathroom and peeled my clothes up one by one. Checking the temperature of the water I sat in the bathtub soaking myself in hot water. I felt good and warm. Once I was done I wrapped a towel and walked out not having anything to wear.

I found Deo rummaging into his cupboard while two hoodies were left on the bed. A deo glances at me feeling my presence. I became conscious of the state am in. Almost naked in front of him. Deo rubbed the back of his head.

"I don't have anything for you to wear but you can wear my hoodies. Seraphina is asleep her door is locked." Deo explains.

"I am fine with your clothes Deo," I said softly.

Deo turned away once more while checking his clothes. I put off his hoodie which thankfully reached up to my things. I wonder what Mom will think after finding out about me in such a situation. She won't be happy.

"Did you eat?" Deo asked.

I shook my head. He walked into the kitchen while I followed him starting at his wide back. Deo pulled a chair out for me but I shook my head once again wanting to help him. Deo didn't stop me and started preparing food for me. He didn't let me do anything so I sat on the table waiting for him to finish.

I ate food with him in silence. When I was done he asked me.

"You look sad. What happened?" He asked softly.

"You read me like an open book." I pointed out.

"Maybe I know you well."

"You do. I wanted to drag Elites down but I just found out my father is a part of it."

Deo didn't say anything or listen to me.

"It's not that bad but I don't know what I will do with him now," I confessed.

"Don't stress just let it go and focus on yourself." Deo offered.

"You are right. Let's see how it turns out rather than trying to control the situation."

Deo smiled and gently pulled me into a hug. I wrapped my arms around him squeezing him to me. His arms tightened in response. He smells the same as last time. I liked the feeling of him in my arms. He pressed a kiss on my head. I pulled out and gazed at his face while his arms were still around my waist. I leaned up and kissed his cheek surprising him.

My gaze lands on his lips. How he will taste? If only I could kiss him. Deo stared down at me lost in his thoughts. He raised my chin and leaned towards me. My breath hitched. Is he going to kiss me? His lips pressed to my cheek and then he pulled away from me. I let my hopes get high for nothing. Wait why I am even thinking of kissing him?

"You can sleep in my bedroom." Said Deo with a smirk visible on his lips teasing me.

"Depends on if you sleep with me?" I smirk back.

"If you ask me."

Is the cold bad boy flirting with me?

God damn it.
