Roaring with primal fury, Morningstar's three claws blurred as they slashed at the remaining zombie which was close to him. The beast's abdomen was sliced open, but instead of intestines and blood spilling out, dark energy condensed and swirled, filling the empty space. In the blink of an eye, the zombie's body healed, the gash in its abdomen closing up like it had never been there. In a berserk state, its healing ability increases to a top-notch point.

Morningstar didn't notice as he already made a dash for one of the shadow cats with the intention of taking it down before it could merge with the shadows again. But just as he neared it, a massive crocodile came barreling towards him, blocking his path.

The crocodile opened its mouth, ready to unleash another storm roar, but at that moment, Kofi, who had been observing the fight, suddenly released an arrow from his bow, aiming straight for the crocodile's open maw.

"Explode!"

He yelled, and the arrow burst into a shower of light and energy, striking the crocodile right in the mouth. The beast let out a piercing cry followed by an explosion.

The explosion made the crocodile's head shattered, blood and gore splattering across the ground. The shockwaves from the blast also buffeted Morningstar, slowing him down and making him stumble.

Just as he was regaining his balance, a sharp bone from the exploded crocodile whizzed past him, close enough to graze his cheek and leave a drop of blood. Morningstar instinctively paused for a moment, with his heart pounding in his chest. He looked around, taking stock of the situation.

The shadow cats were still circling him, waiting for an opening. Meanwhile, Kofi, the mastermind, knew that crocodiles have strong hard skins, especially mutated ones. Kofi knew even bullets would be hard to penetrate its skin not to talk of a bow he could barely unleash its potential.

Plus it's in a berserk state which doubles its strength, he doubts his penetration skills which he hasn't fully mastered will be helpful in such circumstances. The easiest way to kill it was through its mouth and eyes which was why he didn't hesitate to use that opportunity and use the strongest arrow he could create at that moment, plus his half learned penetration skills to cause it to detonate.

Kofi, who was thinking suddenly felt a chill run down his spine, as if death itself were staring him down. Without hesitation, he rolled left, narrowly dodging a shadowy claw that tore the edge of his shirt. His quick reaction saved him from a potentially fatal strike. The shadow cat snarled, seemingly frustrated that its attack had missed.

But it was far from finished. It let out a hissing growl and speedily lunged at Kofi again, its claws poised to strike. Kofi barely had time to react, raising his bow to block the attack.

The force of the strike sent Kofi skidding backwards, almost losing his footing. Just then, another shadowy cat which seems to be hiding in the shadows jumps out with the intention to kill Kofi. Kofi instinctively transformed his bow into a sword, slicing it through the air in the other cat's direction.

But the cat had already melted into the shadows, and Kofi's sword struck empty space.Just as he was about to pivot and scan for the cat's reappearance, he heard a low growl right behind him.

The cat had materialized mere inches from his back, its sharp claws managed to strike, drawing a fresh bloody claw right on his back. Kofi let out a roar of pain as he threw himself forward, barely avoiding the second cat's deadly swipe.

The cat let out a frustrated snarl again as it lunged at Kofi. Kofi felt like a pawn on a chessboard, constantly in danger of being eliminated by a more powerful opponent.

But just like a pawn, he still had a chance to win the game. All he needed was to eliminate the king. And in this game, the king was the shadow cat.If he could just outwit them, just outmaneuver them, he could come out on top. The cat's power was immense, plus their tricky abilities made matters worse.

The best he could hope for was to hold on long enough for Morningstar to come help him. With his sixth sense on high alert, Kofi focused on not showing any sign of fear. He knew he couldn't easily defeat the shadow cat, and he would have to bide his time and wait for the right opportunity. But it seemed that luck was not on his side, as a wind beast suddenly raced towards him, followed by a crocodile and a bird swooping down from the sky at once. Kofi's heart pounded in his chest, and his breath quickened, he knew he had no chance of survival.

_Is this how it all ends?_ Kofi thought, a bitter chuckle escaping his lips.

He thought back to his home, where he had been such a bright and promising student. He had received a scholarship that took him abroad, and he could still remember the loving eyes of his parents and siblings as he left them behind. He had come so far, overcome so many obstacles, and now it all seemed to be coming to an end.

As the creatures closed in on him, he wondered if this was truly how his story would end. _I guess I won't see you all again._

As the thought ran through Kofi's mind, tears began to fall from his eyes. The world seemed to slow down around him as if time itself was giving him one last moment to reflect on his life.He could see the wind cat's claws inching closer, ready to rip him apart.

He could see the shadowy cats emerging from the shadows, their eyes gleaming with malicious intent. And he could see the birds swooping down from the sky, their sharp beaks ready to impale him. With a deep breath, Kofi closed his eyes, ready to accept his fate.

He knew that even if Morningstar could escape from those beasts fighting him, there would be no way for him to reach Kofi in time. All hope seems lost. In a split second, a spatial rift opened up beside Kofi, and a fair arm reached out and grasped his collar. Before he knew what was happening, he was yanked into the rift, and it closed behind him with a snap.

The beasts were too slow to react, and in their attempts to reach him, they collided with each other, some of them falling to the ground, dead from having claws, storm roars and bird talons stab at them.
