Chapter 36
Edited by _Banana for the Monkey King_
There have been tales of a being which echo throughout the universe, leaving those who hear them trembling in fear.
A celestial angel, once the left hand of a primordial god, is now tainted by darkness and forever banished from heaven. According to legend, this being fell from grace after giving in to the darkness within. What this darkness is, no one knows, but its power is evident in the destruction left in its wake.
The very mention of this being's name sends shivers down the spines of even the most fearless new-generation war god. It was said that the primordial god expected the angel to repent and beg for forgiveness, but instead, the angel descended into hell, where he took up the mantle of a demon and began a campaign of mass slaughter. He amassed legions of fanatical followers, who worshipped him as a dark god and spread his name throughout the realms.
As his power grew, he seemed to become more than just a mere demon - he was something else entirely, a force to be reckoned with. Rumours began to circulate that the primordial god was afraid of the angel's newfound power and sent half of his angels to fight against the growing legions of demon followers.
Despite the angels' victory, the fallen angel named Lucifer managed to escape, biding his time in the shadows. Thousands of years later, when the world had almost forgotten about him, he reappeared, his power stronger than ever.
With a well-timed sneak attack, he struck down the god of death, bringing him to his knees. With that one stroke, he was on the cusp of becoming a god himself. The battle that ensued between Lucifer and the god of death was of a scale never seen before. Stars collapsed, worlds were torn asunder, and the very laws of the universe were shattered. For twelve hours, the conflict raged on, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. Finally, with a single, devastating blow, Lucifer brought down the god of death, absorbing his soul and leaving the world reeling from the aftershocks of the battle.
He then fled to a secret realm, where he could absorb the god's power and become a being unlike anything the universe had ever seen. What he didn't know, though, was that in the thousands of years since his disappearance, two new gods had risen to power the Sage and the Seer.
With their incredible divination abilities, they were able to track him down and discover that he was in a weakened state after absorbing such massive power of death.Knowing this, the Sage and Seer gathered a host of ten gods and countless demigods to fight against Lucifer.
Even in his weakened state, he fought ferociously, tanking blasts from multiversal weapons and slaying three of the new gods. But it was not enough. Alas, he was still killed by his comrade known as Micheal after being struck by an arrow from someone. But during his last breath, he said something which made everyone feel fear.
"You... failed," Lucifer gasped, as the light faded from his eyes. "Wait... for my... return." With those words, he took his last breath and was no more.
But those words of warning lingered in the minds of those who had fought him. They knew that, someday, Lucifer might return. For a million years, they waited, watching and guarding against any sign of his return. But that day never came. Or did it? To this day, some still wonder if the darkness that fell upon the world was truly the last of Lucifer, or if he might yet return.

A young man, no more than 25 years old, sat upon a throne made of liquefied blood. His red eyes shone with wisdom and cruelty, surveying the empty chamber that surrounded him.
The silence was deafening, broken only by the gentle trickle of blood that flowed from the throne to the floor, creating a pool around his feet. The man, who had been lost in thought, suddenly spoke, his words echoing in the empty room.
"Those myths are only a fraction of the truth," he said. "I know much more than they could ever imagine." He remembered back then, the truth was.
No one knew about Lucifer's location rather it was one of the generals, the vampire ancestor who betrayed him and told the Sage the location which led to his downfall.
_We must kill him or... Else. My race will be wiped out and our souls turn into puppets. We will be tormented for millions of years._ He thought.
Suddenly, a door burst open, and a beautiful woman rushed into the room. Her long, white hair was unkempt, and her face was flushed with panic. She tried to speak, but the words caught in her throat. "Ancestor," she finally managed to say, her voice trembling.
"There's... there's big news. Just minutes ago, the sage said... he said... he..." She trailed off, unable to finish her sentence. The man's tone was icy and commanding.
"Calm down and say it in one go!" he snapped, he was the type who hated having his time being wasted.
A wave of oppressive energy washed over the girl, making her feel as if a mountain was pressing down on her. If he had not withdrawn the force a second later, she would have collapsed. She took a deep breath and bowed her head.
"The Sage... he said... that Lucifer... will return... in a few years' time." The words were barely more than a whisper, but they reverberated in the silent room. The man was silent for a long moment, and then a slow, dangerous smile.
"Guess I wasn't wrong."

Ghostly howls echoed throughout the decayed mountain of corpses, sending shivers down Morningstar and Kofi's spines. Their hair stood on end, and they could sense the ghosts' twisted expressions, full of rage, madness, and hatred.
Kofi was able to see the ghosts thanks to the bow granting him such ability while Morningstar was able to see it all thanks to his newfound power.
It was as if something terrible had happened to these spirits before they died, something so terrible that they could not pass on to the afterlife.
"What is this place?" Kofi whispered, his voice barely audible.
"I don't know," Morningstar replied, his eyes scanning the surroundings warily.
"But whatever it is, we need to be careful."
He had seen enough in just a few days that he was already numb to ghosts, he wouldn't be surprised if Vampires existed.
