"Waves occur whenever water is disturbed by anything, and in the case of creatures like us, our voice can call on the force of the moon, its pull, its gravity to disturb the water," Ember explained to Asrai.
Asrai's brows furrowed, " Disturb the water?"
Ember nodded, "Yeah, that's the basis of our siren's power. We disturb. We provoke. We lure."
Asrai didn't say a word. Again gloom flickered across her face.
Ember knows why she had that kind of look on her face. Their power had been their strength and their downfall. Perhaps that's how it is when they're scared of your strength, when they're scared of what you could do, your enemies will just eliminate you like what they did to her mother.
"But you know you can't summon the moon and waves without your bangle," Asrai said after she noticed that Ember was not wearing any.
"Oh," Ember chuckled.
