"Who could have set that trap?"
The Familiar's eyes rounded as he figured out the puzzle.
Jayden clenched his fists. It angered him to think that someone wanted to hurt his mate!
"I'll find that out! But for now, my first concern is how will she recover from this?" Jayden said.
The Familiar shrugged, " Normally, a witch's recovery depends on her power and body stamina, there's no cure or spell she could drink to combat the moonlight arrow."
Jayden sighed. He turned to Ember who was now sleeping.
"Okay, I'll take care of her until she regains her strength," he said.

Three days are over, and the reneges after effect is no longer working, yet Jayden decides to stay with Ember so he can take care of her, not because he was ordered to do so, but because he just wanted to. He learned from the Familiar that Ember's favorite dish is shrimp toast.
Damn! Why that? I didn't even know how to cook! Jayden thinks.
