BOOM!
The sound of a great explosion roused Lu Zheng from his stupor.
"What is that?" A guard asked.
"Invasion! There's an invasion!" Another guard's voice could be heard as sounds of fighting entered their hearing.
"Invasion?" Lu Zheng muttered as a smile crept up his face.
The many guards ran out to fight back against the invaders leaving Lu Zheng and the others alone.
"Brother Lu, what is going on?" A brown skinned man asked Lu Zheng.
"The mine is under attack. Perhaps this is our chance to escape" Lu Zheng replied. "Go get the others, we'll meet in the transport centre"
"Hmm" The brown skinned man nodded in the affirmative before quickly leaving.
Lu Zheng released his Sea of Consciousness fully, scanning everything in a 200 metre radius from him.
With his Sea of Consciousness, he could sense the life signatures and auras of other people and even tell their cultivation base if the gap between them wasn't too much.
He was soon able to tell who the invaders were.
~Pirates!~
Lu Zheng didn't brood over the matter. He quickly left for the cells where they were kept.
Walking towards a cell, Lu Zheng punched heavily on the door.
A force exceeding 20,000 jin was produced, smashing the door to smithereens. Inside the cell was a large beast, it was Themur.
"Lu Zheng" Themur's tone was glad.
"Hmm. Follow me" Lu Zheng smiled.
Lu Zheng led Themur to the transport centre where the brown skinned man whose name was Liu Hao had gathered the rest.
"What's going on?" Shu Jun asked.
"The guards are fending off some enemies. I think we should use that chance to escape"
Lu Zheng didn't beat around the bush.
"So what's your plan?" Hong Haoyu was intrigued.
"We use the chaos to slip out of the mine.
Themur will lead you all out and in the meantime, Hong Haoyu and Shu Mingling will follow me" Lu Zheng explained.
"Okay" Liu Hao nodded.
Splitting up, Lu Zheng used his Sea of Consciousness again to find his way to the Head Guard's quarters.
Repeating his methods, he broke down the door with a punch.
"Why are we here?" Shu Mingling was confused.
"We can't leave empty handed, can we?" Lu Zheng smiled faintly.
Lu Zheng kept on using his Sea of Consciousness to find where what he was looking for was kept. Soon, he and the others arrived in a large room.
"The ambient Qi here is extremely dense!" Hong Haoyu exclaimed.
The room was lined with multiple carriages in which many rings were kept. The rings were randomly sorted in the carriages and they all exuded dense Qi.
With a glance, Lu Zheng easily knew what those rings were.
"Spatial rings!" Lu Zheng exclaimed.
Spatial rings were storage artifacts that used the power of space to store almost anything inside them. As a result, they were very expensive and ordinary Clans and Sects could never get their hands on them.
A branch vital stone mine of Sun Palace had so many spatial rings, one could tell their strength from this alone.
Lu Zheng picked up a spatial ring and sent his psyche into it. What he saw blinded him immediately.
"Vital stones! There are millions of vital stones stored in the spatial rings" Lu Zheng said.
Shu Mingling and Hong Haoyu looked at each other and nodded. They knew what to do now.
…
Themur and the others ran through a thick forest at the shore of a huge sea. Although they were extremely close to the sea, the distance felt insurmountable.
SWISH! SWISH!! SWISH!!!
Multiple arrows flew and struck the trees surrounding them. The arrows turned a bright red and exploded, blasting many people to smithereens.
"These people are crazy! How badly do they want us dead?" Themur felt like cussing as more arrows were shot their way.
So far, many people had died from the exploding arrows and their numbers had shrivelled up to a mere twelve. These twelve were also on their last legs.
If this continued, they would all die out.
