Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

The assistant professor was not who Mil or Wyne were expecting. Instead of a human, it was a fairy. The little lady was barely 6 inches tall but her wings were beautiful and caught the attention of the pair.

"Nice," Wyne complimented subconsciously while Mil nodded her head in agreement.

The fairy seemed to be used to people complimenting her wings so after giving a small thanks, she got them to focus on the task at hand.

"We are testing which school of magic you belong to as well as your talent. Give me your name then prick your finger and drop some blood on the ball. It will then tell us what your talents are."

Both Beastmen nodded with Wayne going first.

"Wyne Naliah," He didn't even pick up the needle in front of him but used one of his claws to cut the back of his other hand before letting the blood drop onto the crystal ball.

The crystal began to fill up with blackness until it reached the brim. The fairy looked closely at the crystal and saw that there were no other changes.

'This kid is going to have an interesting future. I guess I need to inform the higher-ups after I get done with these two.'

"School: Black Magic. Talent: Sage," the fairy inscribed Wayne's information on a bronze badge before passing it to him. Wayne moved out of the way so Milly could go next.

"Mil Aini," she said before doing the same as Wayne. Although she did not have as sharp or long of claws, they were still able to cut her skin. When the blood dropped onto the crystal, it also filled to the brim with blackness but there were several blue marbles in it."

"Schools: Black Magic and Blue Magic. Talent: Black Magic, High-Tier. Blue Magic, Mid-Tier," the fairy announced before doing the same with Milly's badge and passing it to her.

"The dormitories for the School of Black Magic are to the left. Just follow the trail until you reach the building with skulls decorating it and ghosts floating around it. Hard to miss," the fairy said indifferently before looking at the two puzzled. "Are your other attendants holding onto the rest of your belongings? They can't enter with you and you are unable to leave once you go in."

She asked this because each of the pair was only carrying a single medium-sized piece of luggage. Other nobles or royalty brought at least 10 large suitcases or bags with their belongings in them.

"The school provides uniforms, linen, and food, right?" Mil asked

The fairy nodded, not sure what she was getting at.

"Then this is all we need. A few personal items, two sets of casual clothes, some banknotes, armor, and our weapons. Why would we bring anything else?" Wyne asked, not sure of what the fairy was getting at.

The fairy looked both amazed and confused at the pair. This was indeed logical but most nobles didn't see it that way. They thought they needed to flex their wealth, even in this place of learning.

"My apologies. I was overthinking," she said while sending them off. The fairy then called for someone else to take over her line while she flew off to inform the head professors and headmaster of the two new students.

'I may need to visit the Naliah Kingdom on my next break. They seem like interesting people.'

She flew into the highest tower of the academy where she saw 8 people sitting around a table and arguing with one another.

"I need to main training field more often! My students need the space," a woman with black robes and a witch hat yelled while slamming her hand on the table. This was Selena Drake, a Sage of Black Magic and the Head Professor for the School of Black Magic.

"If you actually cleaned up the field after you were done, I may agree with you. I'm sick of having my students having to fight off a horde of the undead every time we head to the field. That takes up half my class time!" a man wearing all white with hold accessories complained. Gabriel Dane was the Head Professor for the School of White Magic.

"You could just help out and eliminate them in one go. No cares about your complaints," a woman in all blue ignored the man's complaints. "I need it more. It is the only place where we can use our water and wind magic without hearing complaints from the School of Green Magic."

"Same," said a man in all red. "If my students use their magic in the forest or one of the open fields, my professors hear nothing but complaints for a week."

"I'll tell them to yell at you guys even longer," a woman wearing all green smiled when she heard their complaints. "My students have worked hard to make our forest as bountiful as it is and our garden as beautiful as it is. If you dare to destroy any of their work, be lucky that they all don't wake up with a bad case of poison ivy rashes."

The arcane and martial head professors also joined in on the argument. Both wanted more time on the main field as well.

The headmaster held his head in frustration.

"Why didn't that dragon just kill me? Instead, that stupid thing had to die and now I became the headmaster of this damn place because of that dragonslayer title," he complained to himself before noticing the fairy floating in the window. The older man coughed to get the attention of the others before looking out the window. They followed his gaze and saw that there was someone else there.

As soon as they noticed the fairy, everyone sat properly and looked like the professors and archmages that many thought them to be.

'What's the point of doing that? All the senior students and staff know how you guys really act,' the fairy rolled her eyes before flying into the room.

"Greetings head professors and headmaster. I just came to inform you that the two representatives from the Naliah Kingdom have been registered by me and are on the way to their dorms."

This surprised everyone. They all knew that the prince of the Naliah Kingdom as well as a future duchess were coming. Everyone was curious about which school they would attend. All of the professors stared at the headmaster, making the older man want to fire a few spells at them.

'You could ask if you really wanted to know,' he regretted having hired all of these people.

"And what talents do they have?"

"Mil Aini has high-tier talent in Black Magic and mid-tier talent in Blue Magic while Wyne Naliah is a Sage of Black Magic," the fairy reported.

Selena jumped out of her seat when she heard the news. It wasn't surprising why. Few people had Black Magic as their primary attribute and few had anything higher than mid-tier talent. To hear that she had a Sage and high-tier in the same year was surprising.

"How did they react? Were they disappointed?" she asked, worried that she would have two students with a large amount of talent but hate it. And that was not unfounded. Black Magic was looked down upon and feared by most people. Even if some people had a talent for it, they would ignore it due to outside pressure.

"Neither seemed to really care. Either they had already known about it and accepted their fate or they were truly indifferent to their talent. And in my opinion, I believe it to be the latter," the fairy then explained about the luggage that the two brought and their reasoning behind it.

This made most of the professors agree with her opinion. Even if both had found out beforehand, they were still children. They shouldn't have been able to hide their true feelings from an 80-year-old fairy who had seen many such scenes before.

Selena was the most delighted to hear this news.

'Not only do I have two talented kids but they also don't care about using Black Magic! Haha! I am truly lucky! I need to inform my professors.'

Selena no longer cared about asking for more time on the main training field. She opened up a black portal next to her and walked through it to inform her staff.

And just after she left, another fairy appeared at the window.

"Greetings professors and headmaster. I came to inform you that we have a Sage of Blue Magic and White Magic."
