Chapter 28.
His mouth opened wider and I was expecting another sucking but someone interrupted us. My eyes flew open and I saw Roland standing a few steps away from us.
He looked down when Alistair stood up. "There is bad news, your highness."
The shame left me quickly. I got up from the bench.
"What happened, Roland?" the king asked.
"The lady Rosalind attempted suicide."
The king asked me if I would stay or come along. I chose to follow him and see for myself what Roland said.
It was shocking news which I find difficult to believe. Rosalind committed suicide? Why would she do that?
We got to grandmother's palace. There were many people going in and out like a swim of bees. As soon as we arrived, the king's presence was announced, so the people made way for us.
