Zane was going from tree to tree towards the city with the road parallel to him. That's when he heard the sound of a carriage and naturally he threw a sight grenade at it.
At first he thought the carriage looked familiar, however when he saw the body shape of the driver, he was convinced this was his friend 'Wyatt'.
To be absolutely sure, Zane threw a small stone and hit the driver right on the head.
"Owww what the fuck!?"
That was all the evidence Zane needed to be absolutely sure.
Without wasting any time, he picked up a medium sized rock and hurled it towards Wyatt, but he didn't use his full strength because he didn't want to kill Wyatt, well not yet anyway.
The stone hit it's mark and Wyatt passed out. Zane then went over to the carriage after making sure he wasn't being watched, then he drove it into the forest.
Driving the carriage around brought Zane some good memories from back when he was at home, and he smiled in melancholy.
After driving a few minutes, Zane left the carriage exactly where they where 'robbed' the last time. Then he picked up Wyatt like a sack of potatoes and hung him over his shoulder.
"I wonder if I'm too strong or he's just weightless" Zane wondered as he walked deeper into the forest.
Zane found the exact tree they had tied him to and proceeded to make Wyatt comfortable, with some vines.
Even though Zane was theoretically blind, after living in the forest for three years, he knew his way around. A few more years and he would be able to move around without mana dust.
It didn't look like Wyatt would wake up anytime soon so Zane made a path from the road to the tree big enough for the carriage to pass through. With his strength it wasn't hard for him to uproot a few trees and after an hour or so he was done.
He then replanted all the trees he had removed by actually digging a hole and stuffing the tree inside. The trees would obviously die since they where no longer attached to the ground but they should hide the tracks for the time being.
Zane went back to the carriage, which was now right beside the tree Wyatt was confined to, and found that his good friend was waking up.
Wyatt groaned as he opened his eyes to try and get his bearings.
"Hey Wyatt buddy how are you feeling are you okay?" Zane asked in an amused mocking voice.
"What happened..... who are you?" Wyatt asked as he looked up at Zane. It seemed he still hadn't grasped his situation fully.
"You don't remember me?" Zane furrowed his brows.
"No I don't, should I?, Hey! why am i tied up" He shouted.
"Really Wyatt? you don't remember your good friend Zane?" Zane said.
A look of realization appeared on Wyatt's face after Zane said that, however that look soon transformed into fear.
Zane didn't miss the change of emotion on Wyatt's face. "So you finally remembered me huh?" he said.
"I'm so sorry for whatever it is I did to you okay just please let me go!. I can even pay you!!" Wyatt cried.
Zane raised an eyebrow "Whatever it is that you did?. Have you forgotten what you and your friends did to me?!?" Zane shouted.
"I only use that name when i do something wrong, so whatever i did I'm sorry." Wyatt revealed.
BANG!
A fist sized hole appeared next to Wyatt's head on the tree, a few more centimeters and Wyatt wouldn't have a head anymore. Thankfully Zane managed to control his anger.
Zane didn't say anything and stood up to go to the carriage. "I hate doors" he said as he ripped off one side of the carriage. The carriage was now missing an entire wall.
Wyatt's eyes widened when he saw that "That strength! only a high mage is that strong"he whispered to himself in absolute terror. He was wondering what he did to piss off someone that powerful.
Wyatt might have whispered his line, however Zane heard him perfectly.
'So i have physical strength equal to a high mage huh?, I wonder how strong a high mage is. I guess pretty strong since their title has the word 'high' in it' he thought.
Zane then started to look through Wyatt's stuff. He knew that Wyatt was not his real name, however he didn't even care enough to know his real name.
'Let's see here food, scrolls, books, wait aren't scrolls and books the same thing oh well whatever'
'Here we go! clothes, just what i need' Zane thought as he immediately removed the 'clothes' he currently had on.
"How do i look?" Zane asked as he had changed to a blue robe which looked like that of a priest.
Wyatt was very surprised to see his captor ask such a thing, but he answered either way
"You look very good it suits you well" he replied
Zane nodded as he tried to move around, and then after noticing how hard it was to do so he ripped the robe into shreds and threw it away.
"That robe had a value of 10 gold coins" Wyatt cried.
"Oh really? okay i will try not to destroy the next one." Zane sarcastically said. "Don't you have anything suitable for combat?" he asked like he was a customer at a shop.
"Bottom shelf at the back" Wyatt grumbled. He had already given in to his fate as he stood no chance against a high mage. He only wondered who he offended so much that they would send someone this powerful for him.
"Now that's what I'm talking about yeah!" Zane smiled as he took out a leather armor.
"What color is this ?" he asked while still looking at the armor.
"Wait you are blind!?" That's when Wyatt finally remembered who this person is. In his entire life he had only robbed one blind person.
"Zane!?" He asked in surprise. He surely remembered them killing him three years back.
"That's my name alright. I thought I asked you a question" Zane said as he pointed to the armor.
"But how did you become this strong this fast !?" Wyatt asked in curiosity. He seemed to have forgotten his situation. So like the gentleman Zane was, he reminded him...
BANG!
This time he didn't miss as his fist buried itself into Wyatt's stomach. Zane hadn't used a lot of force, causing Wyatt to just cough out a couple litres of blood.
"Wyatt you are trying my patience." Zane said in a cold voice as Wyatt continued to cough.
"It's blue leather from a water snake" Wyatt answered after he caught his breath. Zane nodded and proceeded to put on the armor. It was a full body suit with metal parts on the chest.
"Zane I'm sorry, I was just trying to provide for my family" Wyatt cried. Zane looked at him with furrowed brows.
It was really worrying him that he felt nothing from this whole situation. Wyatt deserved everything for what he did. But Zane was still human so where were his emotions?.
'Why am I not going to feel anything when I cut off his head?' he asked himself.
