Liam walked out of the college building, his mind was still in turmoil after what Charlotte had said to him. He couldn't believe she called him a murderer even when she knew what happened.
He watched the divine students parade around the school, some flying, some teleporting, and others either running at incredible speed or walking through walls. Charlotte had threatened to tell everyone what happened, they were all going to see him like a monster.
He had kept his distance from other divine students because he didn't want to be embarrassed or humiliated in the future, but others thought he was proud because of how powerful he was. Little did they know it was a curse he wielded.
Could he do this, make an innocent girl fall for him only to shred her heart to bits and pieces, all because for some reason, Charlotte feels threatened by her?
His train of thought was pulled to crash when someone grabbed his shoulders from behind, upon turning around he met Alex's gaze. His breath hitched, hoping that Alex had not peeked into his mind, or heard anything before he had a chance to cloak his thoughts.
"What's wrong, you look like you've seen a ghost?" Alex asked, causing Liam to exhale in relief, it seemed like Alex didn't hear anything.
"N--Nothing, I was just...just staring at the wonders of the academy," He said, causing Alex to raise a brow in suspicion.
"Okay," Alex said and turned his gaze to the side, he saw Teacher Wayne walking in the opposite direction and quickly ran to him.
"Teacher Wayne, good day to you," Alex greeted.
"Alexander, my star Telepath, how are you?" Teacher Wayne asked with a smile. While Liam stood and watched the two, curious about Alex's sudden interest in going after the teacher.
"I'm fine thanks. Uhm, speaking of telepathy, the headband, the one Ranel made when we were paired up, the one I told you I'd need when you were done with...you know, bragging,"
"Oh, yes. I am sorry, I forgot about that, there has been a lot going on in the school lately and we're trying to handle them."
"Anyway, the amplifying headband is in my office, right next to my bookshelf," Teacher Wayne said.
'Oh no, that headband if Alex gets his hand on it and manages to amplify his telepathic powers, he could look into my mind no matter how hard I try to hide my thoughts and might find out about the dare, no it wasn't a dare anymore, Charlotte had gone insane and blackmail me into it, it was more than a dare.'
'And if Alex finds out about it, because of his fondness for the girl he might cut ties with me. it was a heartless and cruel task, Alex would hate me for sure, even if it wasn't the chubby girl. And I couldn't let that happen, although we annoy each other sometimes, Alex was someone I never want to lose.' Liam thought inwardly as he stared at the two acting like friends instead of teacher and student.
"Thank you," Alex replied with a smile and when Teacher Wayne was about to leave, he called the man again.
"You said, some things were happening in the school?" Alex asked curiously.
"Yeah, it's a little weird, all the books that have to do with multi-dimensions are missing, every one of them," Teacher Wayne said.
"Really? But since it's just books I don't think we have to worry, it might be a student with multidimensional abilities who wants to know more of their powers. I am sure there is nothing to worry about sir." Alex said, trying to reassure Teacher Wayne.
"Oh, I hope so Alexander," Teacher Wayne said and then after giving Alex a pat on the shoulder, he walked away in haste.
"I need to get something quickly from Teacher Wayne's office, wait here for me so we can go back to the dome together," Alex said and walked off to the teacher's office as Liam stared at his departing back.
"I need to do something," Liam said, he couldn't let Alex get his hand on that headband Ranella created. Liam closed his eyes and then his dark powers came out of him like a cloud of black blood and then it swallowed him, leaving behind nothing but a puff of black smoke.
Liam appeared in Teacher Wayne's office, he had been practicing teleportation with his dark powers but this was the first time it worked, and he was proud of himself.
He hurriedly searched through the office, looking for where Teacher Wayne said the Headband was, he did not hear where the man said it was so he had to look for it. Liam checked through the drawers, and then through his stuff scattered on the table, the doorknob rattled but he still hadn't found the headband and just as the door opened slightly he saw the headband on the shelf at the corner of the messy office. He ran and hurriedly took it then Alex came into the office.
There was no one in the office, but Alex could feel someone had been there. He looked around the office and went to where Teacher Wayne said the headband was but he didn't see it there. He looked around the office but it was nowhere to be seen.
Feeling disappointed, Alex dragged his legs as he walked out of the office, closing the door behind him.
As soon as the doors closed behind Alex, Liam stepped forward, he had concealed his presence from his brother, blending into the shadows, but he had done it for prolonged use of his powers often weakened him and drained his energy.
He held the headbands in his hand, looking at them with a smirk, he had the thought to destroy them but kept them instead because he knew that there would be a use for them later on.
''Where have you been brother?" Liam pretended as if he didn't know.
"The headband I went to check for in Teacher Wayne's office wasn't there, he either lied to me or someone took it," Alex said.
"I don't think someone took it, he probably lied to you," Liam said, trying to divert Alex's mind from thinking someone took it before he figured out it was him.
"No, Teacher Wayne isn't like that, he is an honest teacher, Someone took it and I am suspecting..." Alex said and Liam's eyes widened a little in anticipation, hoping his brother didn't call his name.
"...the one who took the multidimensional books, we might have a professional thief in this school, or perhaps a spy," Alex said.
"Hm hm, definitely a spy and not your brother," Liam said in a whisper, exhaling in relief.
"What was that?"
"Hm? Nothing!" Liam said, dismissing the topic from continuing.
"No, you said something,"
"Let's just go back to the Dome," Liam said, hastily walking away from his brother.
