I pulled away from Liam's embrace, he looked down at me and I blushed, I thought I had begun to get over him but I guess not. I still feel my heart skip a beat whenever he stares at me.
He looked behind me and I followed his gaze, I saw Alex staring at us, mainly at his brother.
"I--I'll get going now," I said with a stutter and then left the two brothers to settle whatever issues they had.
I walked out of the school's building and luckily I saw my two friends, Ed and Bea, bickering like always.
"What's up?" I asked with a sigh.
"Hey...girl!" Bea said in a somewhat weird manner.
"Who do you like better, Liam or Alex," Edward asked, causing me to blink twice in surprise.
"Uh, what do you mean?" I asked.
"Ok, who do you think is hotter, or more handsome, Liam or Alex?" Edward asked.
"Why are you asking me this?" I asked.
"We notice the Rogers twins spending time with you lately, and Bea and I are having a heated argument about who you'll choose," Edward said.
"Although she said You'll choose Liam and not Alex, but I prefer if you go with Alex," Edward said.
"Uh, I told you, Liam would be better," Bea said.
"Why are you acting weird, it's like you are in love with Alex and you want him all to yourself and trying to shove Liam on Ranel," Ed said and Bea freaked out.
"That's a lie, I--I don't like Alex, why would I like him, I have feelings--I mean no feelings for Alex, so stop saying that!!" Bea said, scolding Ed at the top of her voice.
"Ok, it was just a joke anyway, why are you taking it too personally?" Ed said with a grunt and then he walked ahead, heading to the male hostel.
"Are you okay? you seemed kind of weird," I said, noticing her red cheeks.
"Was I? I'm sorry, I'm just stressed," She replied with a smile holding my hands in hers.
"About what?" I asked.
"The...the defense class, it was pretty stressful," She replied.
"But you were awesome, I never had a doubt," I replied giving her a thumbs up.
"Let's get going," She said and then rested her head on my shoulder while holding my hand as we walked towards the chauffeur.
Beatrice's POV
We arrived at the Whitlock's mansion, and Mr. Stephen was not around, We were greeted by nanny Esther, she had prepared a meal for us and her generosity never seized to surprise me.
Anyway, I couldn't stop thinking about what happened back there with Edward, I almost outed myself. Any time Alex Rogers was brought into a conversation I seem to lose it.
This was getting unbearable, I thought I had completely lost interest in him, but seeing him always close to Ranella brought back that feeling, I felt like since he was so close to Ranella and I was prettier than her, there was a chance he might notice me too. I slapped myself for thinking about such a thing, Ranella was my friend, we've been friends since we were kids, and I shouldn't think about her that way.
I was confused and shocked, confused about what was going on in my head, and shocked that I was slightly turning into a bad friend to Ranella.
I should be happy for her that as someone who had been depressed at her appearance, she was finally getting some attention from the cool kids and hot guys.
"Ah, you're so lucky, how come I'm the only girl in school who doesn't have powers?" Ranella said, taking a seat next to me as she dished out some food for both of us.
"Don't worry, I've heard about cases like this before," I said with a smile.
"Really where?" She asked.
"Nowhere, I was just saying that to make you feel better," I said and we both chuckled.
"You're a good friend," She said.
Was I? I started having impure thoughts about my best friend all because of a guy, am I still a good friend?
"Ranella, I--I need to tell you something," I said, I wanted to let her know about the crush I had on Alex that I thought was no longer there but was somehow coming out from whatever gole it hid itself in.
"What is it?" She asked.
"I..."
"...Hey girls," Mr. Whitlock said, barging into the mansion and interrupting Bea before she could complete her words.
"Father, you're home early!" Ranella said.
"Oh Angel, not quite, I forgot my documents for the presentation we were having today at work," Stephen said and Ranella nodded, he ran upstairs to his room and she turned to me.
"He's always too busy, it's almost like he's never here," She said.
"I know how it feels, my dad is always at the church and sometimes spends the night there," Bea said.

After the meal, I went back to the girl's hostel before curfew. I walked through the hostel halls and as usual there were a lot of students making out right in the hall, some were kissing and some were doing the deeds, in broad daylight with the risk of getting caught by a teacher.
The boys would be in trouble if they were caught in the girl's hostel and likewise the girls. They had rooms so why were they making out here in the halls, it was much better now, if you want to see something that will twitch out your eyes you should probably come at night, past curfews.
The students in Hidden High College were either brave or stupid. Did they want to get into trouble or were they just dumb?
I walked hastily through the halls, hoping to get to my room sooner and clear my head.
"Bea," Alex said and I wanted to curse at the universe for proving itself at the wrong time.
"Hey Alex," I said with a nervous smile while trying to think of a different thing so he wouldn't peek into my mind.
"Just the girl I was looking for," He said.
"Me, why? Do you think I have a confession to make or something?" I blabbered, then inwardly facepalmed myself after realizing how weird I acted right now.
Alex: "..."
"I'm sorry, I'm just stressed, you shouldn't be here, hurry and tell me what's up before you get caught along with these sex goons," She said.
"Oo..kay," He said.
"I wanted to ask what are Ranella's favorite things, I want to do something special for her as a friend," Alex said and I felt my heart sink.
"I mean does she love movies and what's her favorite snack, where's her favorite place to go..."
"...Are you in love with Ranella?" I couldn't help but ask, cutting him off.
"What, I am not, I just see her as a good friend," Alex said, rubbing his nape.
I stared at him for a while and he seemed unsure, I could see it in his eyes, the excitement when he talked about Ranella. I felt my eyes sting and I guessed he saw tears glimmering in my eyes because he asked.
"Are you okay?" He asked and I nodded swiftly, faking a smile.
"I--I'm gonna email it to you," I said with a nervous smile and hurriedly ran to my room.
I got to the room and I shut the door behind me while panting heavily like I was part of World War II.
"What's wrong?" Mia, the necromancer asked. Yes, she was my roommate along with a girl called Victoria.
"I just have a lot on my mind, don't worry about me," I said, packing my hair in a ponytail and undressing myself. I just felt like taking a cold shower right now.
I went into the bathroom and turned on the shower, letting the chill water drip down my skin, carrying away my tears.
