Chapter 20 - Chp. 20 Nice slide...

[Two months later]

Since Marc had successfully helped Lady Janice in going back to Mogard, where a platoon of Private Imperial Guards that were specially assigned for her has arrived, he returned back into the Wildlands.

They were there originally for her at first, but since the succession competition of the princes was not considered as a threat to her safety, they were not deployed.

Only during crisis like a war with another nation would the imperial guards be deployed to protect high profile personage within the empire.

And since her disappearance the guards had been sent to help her but the Baroness had received word that they were delayed in Blandge.

Somehow the head of the Warsinger clan had decided to delay the imperial guards into marching into his territory since his land is under the Jurisdiction of the Naval Kingdom of Portwest.

He has said that the Solesinese Empire cannot just send their elite troops into foreign land without warning and notice so he stopped them for the safety of his people.

The Baroness knew that the old clan head was just quibbling about but she does not know why.

So impatient she rode out to the Fog Mountains herself and even resolved her will to wander and search for her friend in the Wildlands. But who would have thought that Marc had already saved her friend and was even escorting her out.

This made her and the adventurers that came after being hired by the princes to become slack jawed seeing that the man that wore golden armor was a Saint level Expert.

Marc was even invited by Lady Janice to come to the Solesinese Empire to become an Imperial Guardian again with very high authority that even the Emperor would not over rule.

But Marc declined and went back to his small monster town. He had hoped to have human interaction since he arrived but it seems the first people he met had a ton of imperial level family drama that followed with them.

So he brought Bacon, Tyrone and the other chickens back into their small home. But Marc did get a lot from this, especially when he learned the language which made him able to write and read the tomes he has.

This had made Marc become an experimental Madman as he tinkered about how to make the most of the few pages of simple rune inscribing knowledge within the tome as well as the Alchemy knowledge within.

But the most notable thing he had achieved was he was able to create a trade road from the edge of the Wildlands where the Fog Mountains starts. Since he had found that the beast inside could navigate the fog if they have the help of humans but the travel would be very slow.

His enhanced senses are the ones that made it possible for the route to be quite fast. He had seen when he just let Bacon travel on its own in the fog and found the poor large pork walked in a squiggly walk.

But they could follow him since they remembered his scent which made navigation inside the fog possible for them. Yet they could not rely on it very long since the fog seems to dissipate the smell after a few minutes.

But the things Marc could trade were quite limited since all he only has food and animal parts to exchange like Fur, claws, teeth as well as some unused Beats cores.

Yet oddly enough for him that was enough to earn him a lot of things since the quality of the monster leather and other parts he does not use was quite in high demand.

Unbeknownst to him that the Baroness gained a lot of money from this trades through taxes and tariffs. This earned the jealousy of her neighbors but she was not worried and was even openly opposing the Warsinger Clan of Blandge since they seem to be intent on hindering her.

So with the new wave of funds the small Barony of Mogard was gaining more prosperity as the weeks go by.

Even then Marc could only trade once every two weeks, since he needs to pass peacefully in some borders of other Beast Lords.

But the B-Class beast parts were enough for Marc to amass large amounts of metals and some books that he had requested.

.

He did not ask for important tomes or anything but rather story books and simple basic books of knowledge.

It was mostly just books that the nobles and privileged people would receive as basic education in schools or something similar to that, all Marc cared is that he could use it for something or learn from it.

This earned some confused stares from the Baroness and Lady Janice but they obliged and provided him with books from different parts of the continent.

At least Marc was satisfied in learning that there was a rather advanced civilization within this world he is in. But his past tendency in preferring a rather peaceful life won as he just liked being in the monster town he made.

Just knowing that he was not the only person was enough for him and the two month socializing with the servants of Lady Janice was enough for him to satiate his need for human interaction for now.

But in the two months there was also waves that happened all over the world as the news of a Saint level individual living in the wildlands reverberated all over the East Continent.

Any speculated who this Saint was but from what they heard from the three adventurer groups is that he rides an S-Class beast as a mount and has hundreds of A-class monsters within his control.

This started rumors until the facts has become convoluted, saying he has legendary beast as simple pets and have thousands of S-calls beast and millions of A-class within his reach and that he found the world boring so he just stays within the Wildlands to fight and sate his bloodthirst brawling with the elusive Beast Lords in there.

In two months he became a new Saint into a blood crazed Tyrant of monsters in the image of the public. It spread from the large Naval Kingdom of Portwest, to the south nation of Maltongia and to the West Country of the Altford Theocracy.

And with rumors come those people that doubt and want to go and venture within the infamous danger zone.

Thus a wave of adventurers wanted to go and find fame in the new wave of people that also was venturing wanting to see if this rumor is true or not.

And one of those that wanted to know the truth is the higher ups of the Ortonese church. They had known that Rosche had been assigned to clean up the mess one of their believers has made and the rumor just so happens to coincide on where and when Rosche has been before the tragic incident of the deaths of thousands of their young talents.

A new Saint, many thought that maybe it was a newly risen one and traveled to become a student or apprentice under the said person.

But they knew better that the strength they had felt when blocking that spear was that the person behind it was much dangerous than a veteran Saint.

"Huh? Intruders?" Marc looked skeptically at the old wrinkly coc-(A/N: ahem, no homo)… old elder rooster reporting to him about some group of adventurers that arrived at the large wooden watch tower he built to be the trading point.

"Bwarck!" the old rooster nodded its head as he opened his wing to point behind him where a group of humans were in tattered armors and clothing looking around weakly.

"Then why did you bring them here?" Marc looked at the group and saw their eyes seem to shine when he appeared.

"Cawcrack." The old rooster bobbed his head seemingly trying to explain to Marc about something as he cawed.

"So they keep coming back even after you all pushed then back into the fog?" Marc raised his brow as he found it weird but before he could ask more from the old rooster one of the adventurers suddenly rushed towards him.

The Cockatrice moved in unison as they were about to slash the woman apart for her actions but her next move made them all stop as she slid down and immediately bowed kneeling towards Marc.

"Oh great Saint please take me as your disciple!!: the young teen said as she banged her head into the ground in front of Marc as he looked in awe how the slide was so smooth.

"Uhmm…. No, but great slide though." Marc declined as he gestured for the chickens to disarm the group.

"Wh-why?" the girl asked but she did not resist the roosters that took away her sword.

"Elder go and send these kids back towards Mogard, maybe their parents are getting restless that they are here." Marc said to the old rooster as he did not feel inclined to take care of a bunch of teenagers.

"Lord Saint please don't! Let us stay please, we can work and do menial labor for you and besides we have nowhere to go as we are all orphans." The girl's words made Marc pause and then turn back to get a good look towards the kids.

"…"

"…"

"Hmm, nope you're totally lying."
