Theo was impressed by the strength of his undead warriors, who managed to overpower all the war wolves in the enemy camp. He wondered if this was a special ability of his death knight, or if it was something he could do with any unit. He decided to test this later, but for now he was happy to have a new mount as well as more features.
Then he got on his new mount, Loki, and headed to the player's camp to see who this competitor was and how he would deal with the offer of being a subordinate, servant, or being killed and becoming a unit. During the journey, some animals were unlucky enough to cross his path, and he ordered Loki to use lunges and sharp fangs to kill everything that saw him.
Soon they were getting close to the camp, so Theo could already smell burning things, probably due to the attack from his units earlier. After arriving, he saw that the fire in the fireplace had managed to burn part of the grass next to it, which was what caused the burning smell he smelled. Not far from where the bonfire was previously, her ghost hunter unit was supervising the player.
Yes, this time he found a player, a 20-year-old girl who seemed a little scared, but still looked in awe at Theo's unit. She was wearing casual clothes of the style she would wear at home to be comfortable, her long black hair looked dirty, and her white skin was a little reddened from being in the sun in the forest. She must have been at least 5'6 (1.70 m) feet tall, and was thin, whether due to a lack of food or because she was already like that when she came into this world. Her black eyes were beautiful and stood out against her white skin.
"Hello! I'm Theo, and you now only have two options, work for me as a slave or subordinate, or die. I suggest you choose the first one, as it will give you a good life." Theo said, being as sincere as he could.
"And why do you think I would want to be your slave?" She responded to Theo with a question.
"Because the other option is to die, and you don't have to be a slave, you can be a subordinate if you make a pact with me. Then you will have a job and a safe place to live. If you have the desire or ability, you can become part of my future army and fight against animals, monsters, and possibly the players." He responded with the voice of someone who would no longer negotiate.
After thinking for a while, she decided that she would be a subordinate, so Theo wrote on the floor with his rapier the words she should say. Then he took out a knife from his inventory, made a small hole in his finger to remove some blood, and sent it to her to do the same. She repeated the gesture, and then they placed the blood in their palms, held each other's hands, mixed the blood, and reading aloud the words she should say.
As soon as she finished the last word, her hands glowed with a reddish light that then disappeared. Now that Theo had another subordinate on his team, he took advantage of the fact that his units had not yet destroyed her shelter to go to his military building. Which was a rock formation with a cave from which the wolves probably came out.
When Theo focused his gaze on the building, he received a message from his system.
[You have made the owner of this building your subordinate, would you like to take possession of the building or destroy it and gain energy stones?]
Theo quickly chose to destroy the building, he didn't know if, being his subordinate and former owner of the building, she couldn't recruit in her place, making the wolves obey her. To avoid possible betrayals in the future, it was better to destroy it and get more stones to improve your own building.
As soon as he made his choice, the rock formation shattered and turned into some energy stones that he placed in his inventory. After that, he ordered the shelter to be destroyed so that she would no longer have the chance to be a player.
Theo helped her get on Loki, and then they returned to their camp, once they got there, the girl was completely shocked by the amount of things he had done in a month here. The first thing he did was assign her to Alika's house, where he would keep an eye on her until he was completely sure that she wouldn't betray him, only then would she get her own house.
When they arrived, night was already approaching, so Theo decided to take a shower and lie down at her house. Copper appeared at that moment and was already a little bigger than yesterday. The two got together in the bath and then went to bed, Copper seemed to be tired and slept right away, unlike Theo, who stayed up late reading the book that talked about the forest temple.
The next morning, Theo got up without waking Copper and after washing, he did his morning ritual, this time he summoned a ghost and a zombie.
[Ghost]
[Level: 1 0/100]
[Skills: Possession, Haunt.]
[Zombie]
[Level: 1 0/100]
[Skills: Infect, Bite.]
Theo was confused as to why these units had different abilities than normal ones, but he soon received a message from the system that answered his questions.
[Congratulations Player! You were the first player to discover more about the world, and also the first to use methods from that world to gain support from another player.]
[Your reward is an improvement on your future units.]
That was all the system said, and although he was disappointed that his existing units didn't undergo this upgrade. He knew that his future army would be much larger and more powerful, and a few units without stronger and more appropriate abilities wouldn't be a bother.
Amethyst then approached her ghost companion, and after learning of the improvements, she told Theo that some elite units could learn the abilities of the new improved units. She also informed him that some of the birds he had brought to the camp were laying eggs, and his human pair of subordinates had already started collecting them, so he could try them for breakfast today.
After this good news, Theo went to the community bonfire, where his subordinates were already waiting for him, he saw that his new subordinate was cleaner and more presentable.
'She must have used the bathtub to take a shower.' Theo thought.
"Good morning, everyone, how are things at camp? Any complaints or requests you have to make?" He questioned.
"Good morning!" Everyone responded.
No one said they needed anything, but they gave some tips on possible improvements, and Theo listened to them all and considered them. Those that were viable at that moment would be carried out by the zombie units with Kornel's supervision, the others would be on hold. Then he remembered to ask his new subordinate's name, even though she said yesterday during the oath that he wasn't paying attention to her words but to her movements for fear that she might try something.
"My name is Nore Vink, but my friends called me Pink because I hate the color pink that everyone associates with girls and women." She said.
"Very well, here you will be called Nore nothing more, what you were before you came no longer matters, only what you can become." Theo said.
"Alika, see if she has an affinity with any element, and if she has good potential, add her to our classes, give her a goblin staff to increase its effectiveness, and ensure that she quickly learns to use magic." Theo said this without even asking if Nore wanted to be a mage.
For him, having more units that could cast spells was essential, as it would give him many advantages in battles against less advanced players and beings. Theo learned from Alika that some elves specialized in creating objects, formations, and equipment with magical damage reduction or even immunity to magical attacks from certain elements. He was also very interested in these types of equipment, especially in the formations that could be used on the walls of the wall to make them stronger. Reduce the damage it receives from attacks in general. But it wasn't time for him to go to the elf village yet, he wanted to be strong enough to protect himself during the trip. As they would pass through territories of tribes of different races, monsters, and predators.
