Chapter 32 - New Elite Unit

When midnight arrived, just as Theo had predicted, it started to rain, and it wasn't just any rain, but acid rain. Which meant that many of the things that were not protected began to deteriorate quickly, especially the plantation areas that he had created. Seeing this from his front door, he ordered one of his skeletons to quickly dig up the seeds of the fruit trees he had planted for Copper, and put them in the bucket, and then bring them to him.

As soon as the skeleton got close and handed the bucket to Theo, he saw that the skeleton had some holes in its bones from the rain. This made him realize that the rain could perhaps destroy the roofs of the houses, he waited a few hours awake, making sure the roof would hold up, and half the night passed, and that's when it happened.

The roof could no longer resist being destroyed, so Theo ran and entered the basement he had made, his subordinates were already there in case there was a flood due to the walls damming rainwater. When he created the basement, he had the option of sealing it so that nothing but air could get in, and that's exactly what he did, so if water rose too high, it wouldn't enter the basement.

Opening the regional chat, he could see many people complaining that their homes were being destroyed and invaded by acid rain. Most people at this stage only had wooden houses, and without any improvements to avoid the rain, probably those who appeared in places with a lot of stone. Or places where there were caves nearby, managed to escape the rain by having a better house or by taking shelter in the caves.

Anyone who didn't have a permanent home by this point was already seriously injured or even dead due to the rain that fell nonstop. After dawn, Theo considered running to the mausoleum to do his daily recruitment, but Amethyst stopped him, saying that he would only hurt himself and that it wasn't worth it at this point. Even if Alika could use basic healing magic. She also said that he could try to leave after it stopped raining, the rainwater was not being held back by the walls, but he would have to wait.

As soon as the rain stopped, it was almost ten at night, Theo waited another hour before leaving and going to the mausoleum to recruit. That day, he obtained his first elite ghost unit.

[Horde]

[Level 1]

[Skills: Separation, Command]

From the name and ability, Theo assumed that there were several ghosts together forming a 'body' just like Amethyst's, and after asking her, he was sure. Her answer was that a horde is composed of 100 ghosts, 1 of a high level that commands, and another 99 low level. They come together in a single ghostly body to have strength and resistance and to be able to remain longer without needing to recharge their energy.

This was only the elite form of ghosts, Amethyst also said that the advanced form was called, legion, consisting of a high-level ghost commanding 10 elites. She was sure about the other forms of skeletons and zombies, but they should be: Skeleton — Skeleton Knight — Lich. Zombies, on the other hand, did not have evolved forms, but different and more powerful corporeal forms, being: Zombie — Ghoul — Vampires.

After discovering this information, Theo asked her if she could become a horde or even a legion in the future, and to his surprise, the answer was yes. But all the ghosts under his command should have the same profession. This horde, which was summoned, was a simple horde of ghosts without any profession and which could be used for any activity, but it would not be as powerful as a horde of assassins or mages. After he finished his conversation with Amethyst, Theo began repairs to the houses, so everyone could get out of the basement and return to their respective homes.

He made new roofs for each of them and also looked for new improvements, but the only improvement to the roof was the metal roof. Which required iron for construction, an item still in short supply in the camp and also in the trading area. No one had found iron or even iron ore for sale, there was a project for a furnace to melt the ores, but without the material itself, there was no reason to build it.

So the night was almost over, when everyone was able to return home, Theo waited for dawn to recruit again before going home to sleep. He ordered Amethyst to find new villages or lord camps for them to attack, he needed to level up and raise the levels of all his units to have a greater chance of survival in this insane game.

He also ordered her to send one of the skeletons to capture more of the birds he intended to raise, as they died in the rain. Theo didn't want to take them into the basement, and so they were exposed to the rain, and now they would only serve as food for the zombies. When dawn came, new units were recruited, and what appeared were a skeleton warrior and a normal zombie. Theo thought that the horde summoned the night before took away all his luck for the week, and he would only summon basic units in the next few days.

When Theo lay down with Copper who had been sleeping for some time, his body quickly relaxed and he fell asleep, this time making sure that Amethyst wouldn't allow him to miss a day of recruitment. Although this disaster was less exhausting than the previous one, Theo still slept for 10 hours straight, and woke up after half the morning had passed.

With that, his sword training was reduced today, while the class with Alika continued as usual, he was eager to improve his level and learn new, more powerful spells.

Opening the chat again overnight after class with Alika, thousands of lives were lost in yesterday's disaster and many were still complaining that they lost their homes despite still being alive, albeit injured. Millions of people died across the planet, making Theo realize he needed greater protections for weather disasters like the one the day before.

He then began creating cloth to make warmer clothes for a possible blizzard, as well as storing water from the well and making a cover for it. Despite the acid rain, the water in the well was not affected, meaning it could still be used without worry.

'All this will be done tomorrow.' Theo thought.
