I stood on my own in the middle of these everlasting plains and had my hand on my waist as I looked around. There was no way for me to know where I was at this moment, or worse yet, how to get back the way I came, seeing as I did not drop any clues on the way here. I was frustrated, but there was nothing I could do except move on a d try to find my way out. After all, I couldn't just sit around and silently wait for death - I wouldn't.
A system message popped up at that moment, making me recall that it even existed.
New quest received.
User has gotten himself lost in the Caliagri dungeons somewhere. Find your way back home.
Pending quest: Forfeited by User. Quest deleted.
I looked at all the system had in store for me. The message just further explained my predicament, except I get a reward after completing this challenge. The deletion of the other quest, I did not understand, but did not put too much thought into it either way.
I opened the shop to see if there was anything that could help me out in my current predicament.
'System, open the shop.'
Opening Shop.
Shop.
Weapons. Armour. Amulets and Accessories. Clothes. Food. Miscellaneous.
'Go to tab Food.'
Opening Food.
Food.
There were quite a lot of foods I had never thought of existing found here. With this, I would never need to be exhausted no matter the journey. It was like me having my very own town just a click away. Unfortunately, the things I could find here needed to be purchased and right now, I had no system coins at all.
Recalling what the system had told me earlier on, I asked the system to open the storage space to see if I could find something to sell there.
'Open Storage.'
Opening Storage.
As soon as these words were projected into my sight, I saw my vision blur as though everything around me was moving at Hyperspeed, before finally stopping in an extremely vast dark black space. If it weren't for the lack of tiny shiny lights, I would've thought I was currently with the stars. The system screen once again explained to me what all this was, since I was just experiencing it for the first time.
This is the Storage space. Here is where everything you store goes. The size of this space is as about 10000 colz. You can request for whatever you store by willing it to come to you with your mind. This space can only be entered directly from the system.
TL: A single colz (colz being the standard measurement here) was about 10 cm in comparison to what we have in our world.
After seeing this lengthy explanation did I finally understand. Without wasting much time, I went through everything I had kept in here since I got the Storage skill. There were quite a few things in here but the most of them I could not sell. I finally settled on selling my old dagger and some other miscellaneous things I considered not useful anymore. For all this, I got 17 system coppers.
The system conveniently used the same currency system as the normal world, which got me thinking that the creator must have originally been an inhabitant of Earth. Said person, if still existed would either be that strong soul that had also inhabited my body or some other powerful being still in existence on another plane.
I went back to the shop and sought to order something to quench my thirst. The water I got was immediately transferred to the Storage space. Truth be told, I was still a bit skeptical at the vastness of the Shop. Having so many things at the ready felt too surreal. It was way too hard to believe.
First, I removed the system so all I could see after that was the green plains I had become overly familiar with - which, truthfully still bothered me. Next, I let my hand move through space as I thought of holding something. As my hand came out of this empty space it had entered, it did so with a gourd.
I held my breath as I slowly drew my hand out of the space. After seeing the gourd, some disbelief seemed to fade from my eyes, but it was still evident that it existed nonetheless. I opened the gourd and took a look inside, and voila. It was as I suspected.
Inside the gourd was a light blue liquid, just like the colour of the sky. I didn't let myself rest just yet. I turned the gourd upside down as the open part was placed inside my mouth and the bottom tilted above my head.
A rush of coolness filled my insides as I felt the water flow. I drank to my heart's content and till the gourd was almost empty before finally stopping. I disconnected the gourd from my lips and let out a dep breath as I painted for air. All the disbelief in my eyes had suddenly turned into adoration. As far as I could know, this was the best water I had ever tasted in my entire life.
TL: Forgot to say, water in this world is blue.
I used the back of my right hand to clean my lips amd then replaced the cover of the gourd. I felt refreshed. The kind of feeling you get from not having water for days and then suddenly getting a whole gulp in. Don't try that, you'll hate yourself.
After this, I sat for a bit and bought some food from the Shop which I ate to my heart's content. It had been quite some time since I had been here, probably already a day. The weather here, however, never changed. The sun never came out and the day never got dark, it seemed. I was already feeling tired as though I had stayed up all night and I just had a hefty meal, too. So, I decided to rest my head a little in the grass.
