Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Bow

Coating weapons qith magic was only something well experienced mages could do. It would enhance the strength of the blade, as well as give special effects for as long as the coating was there. It was basically like adding a temporary beast crystal on to your weapon. By doing this to the already powerful Sword of The Nether, I had significantly enhanced the stats. of the sword.

Just swinging it and I could feel the difference in the weight. It felt much lighter this time around. Plus, I could feel the deadly force coming off the sword was no longer as weak as it was before. It appeared to have become many times better and more advanced than it was before.

I rushed in, sword in hand, aiming to kill once again. The tempting allure of El's beauty still had a bit of an effect on me, hence slowing me down. But it appeared this little bit of time was all she needed. She dashed in and pointed her hands outward, unleashing ice from one and fire from the other. These opposing elements strangely mixed together before crashing on my chest forcefully.

Since I had no piece of armour, this little attack did quite a lot of damage ot me, causing me to fall backwards and hit the ground. I swiftly strode back up and wiped my mouth, cleaning the blood that had spurted out just now. I brandished my weapon and assumed a ready stance once again, preparing to defend this time around.

Here, let me get that. Stay awake this time and watch how it's done.

As soon as I heard this voice in my head, I saw my vision become as though I was on a fast moving object so I could not see what I was surpassing at such speeds. Everything around became blurred for a moment and then suddenly became normal again. I was currently where I had been a moment ago. I was still on that battle ground where me and El were fighting.

This was strange, see. Because tge last tine this had happened, I fell into the darkness for an unknown amount of time before waking to see I had the Light gift and the First Princess was wary of me, not in a good way, too.

Next thing I know, the system screen pops up. I know I didn't call it up, so it should have been a message. But it wasn't. Instead, what I saw gave me the shock of my life and showed me my terrible insignificance.

This was power; true power. What I thought to be powerful was just me being stupid. I had been a frog in the well all my life, only able to see a single part of the sky. But now, now I knew what power truly was, so I would strive to achieve it.

This Hekate person was a God. I literally had a god inhabiting my body. But, he was over a thousand years old. What if it was his body I was inhabiting? Wouldn't that make him eligible to throw me out? Either way, he was still a god. His power overwhelmed mine by more than enough. Whether or not it was my body, he could have thrown me out had he wanted to. Plus, he had said he wanted me to improve and grow stronger. It seems in the end, the person who owned that my5voice was him: Hekate.

I looked at all his stats. and gulped iwardly each time I read one.

'Over a thousand years old! A god! A god!' I had to read that one twice for it to sink in. 'Level 500! I am still just level 15, barely too. And look, he is over 400 levels higher than me, when am I ever going to get here?'

'Vitality is 10,000. Mine is just 100. And look, magic essence 20,000. What is that soul Essence anyway? Even his strength and other skills are way too good. I don't know I'm ever gonna get this far. Besides, he is a god, no? I can't really compare myself to him, now can I?'

Watch how I fight and learn from it. I will not help you every time. I just came out this time because there is no way you will be able to defeat her.

'Huh? No way? Am I still that weak?'

She is a creature of the Netherworld. No human can defeat such a creature, added to the fact that she is well equipped against male humans. She feeds on your blood and flesh after seducing your lot.

How she got to Earth, I have no idea.

'So, that's how it is. No wonder she was too strong for me.'

Ha! Don't overestimate yourself. That hooded clothing is a mysterious item. It suppresses her power by at least 75 percent, so anything you were fighting till she removed the cape would have been nothung more than 25 percent of her actual power.

No more time to talk, she is ready now. Let me show you how I play with such toys.

My body swiftly moved to intercept El before she could make any movements. It seemed my body was now under Hekate's command. He moved and stopped right in front of El in less than a second from such a distance. It even appeared as though he had teleported because of the frightening speed.

Next thing I can see, El has her left hand falling off her body. How it happened I had no idea. Hekate did not move from his new position at all, and also he never once raised his hand nor did he swing the sword. Him asking me to watch this when I couldn't see anything felt a little too much.

He swiftly appeared in front of El and grabbed her neck with his left hand, raising her into the air. She struggled for breath as he did so, hitting and pushing and kicking and fiddling, but to no avail.

"If you want to live, tell me who freed you from that place." Hekate spoke to her, except it sounded like I was speaking because he was speaking with my mouth. It all sounded and felt so strange; hearing myself speak without actually speaking.

"Jace! The match is over. Put hi-her down. Put El down!" Sherby shouted.

Suddenly, Hekate turned to face him with a terribky menacing gesture.

"Human, it seems you want to die here today. I am a god and you will bow before me!"

Suddenly, everyone on the field fell to their knees with their heads touching the ground. Everyone was bowing.
