I stood up from where I had knelt and looked to the horizon from the top of that small hill. I could feel the blood that had stained my face. Today, I showed no mercy whatsoever to my enemies, even at my own senior's pleading. This was how it would be for anyone who dared to have any funny intentions towards me.

I sighed and turned to the direction where the others were waiting, except the triplets who were always silent - those three were stood around the dead adventurer doing something I knew naught of.
I made slow steps toward where Sherby and his lot stood. As soon as I got there, I stood in front of Sherby. I was just about to say something when he gave me a slap.
"When I give an order, you go through with it! This is how it goes in this party. This is what keeps the party alive, do you understand me?" He yelled. I could see the fury in his eyes as it silently seeped out, searching for prey to claim. I figured it would be best not to anger him too much right now, so I just stood there and smiled, taking in all the scolding he was giving.
I had already gotten what I wanted in the end, so his screams were useless. He could not bring back that Ham from being dead even if he wanted to. Meanwhile, I had gained even just a little bit more power this time around, and it was also thanks to that Ham person.
I waited for Sherby to vent completely before turning around and heading straight home. No guards had followed me this time around, because I had sneaked out of the mansion. Thus, there was no one escorting me home. Ie was just me and my thoughts.
I got home and stayed there for the remainder of the time we would spend at home, meanwhile preparing steadily for the First Princess' fifteenth birthday, or dare I say for the trouble that would befall us on the way there.
Everyday, I would train with a normal sword for at least six hours, spending time way into the night. Lucky for me, I had an army veteran as my teacher: Father. He had finally agreed to help teach me a little bit, seeing as I was an adventurer and all.
In the morrow of the day, after my nightly rest, I would run around the mansion for two hours without stop, without fail. This continued until the day when we were scheduled to leave for the Capital. The First Princess' fifteenth birthday was to be in a week, and according to Father; if we were fast enough we would arrive there just on time. Thus, he gave us as much time to prepare as we needed, letting us know that as soon as we got to the Capital, there would be no rest for us in performing our 'noble duties.'
Soon, it was the morrow when our journey was to begin. I stayed in bed till late in the morning when my sister came to fetch me. Some servants had made their way to my chambers earlier, but all had been turned away by Alphonso according to my request, whilst telling them that I was unwell.
My sister, however, he could not turn away. She barged into my room, flinging the doors wide open: as was characteristic of her, and came straight to my bedside.
"Jason, I have heard that you are not well. Is this true?"
"What do you care?" I asked, rather coldly.
"So it is false, then?" She retorted.
"I asked Alphonso to say so. I don't feel too good anyway." I turned my face away from her as I said this, conveying my unwillingness to speak anymore.
"Well, unlucky you. Because Father has sent me to personally fetch you, and make sure you get ready in time. We have delayed enough because of you. Father even had to push up the time of our departure." She said, she stood up from the bed and said a bit more before leaving. "We will leave at the sun's highest. Be ready by then."
After saying this, she promptly left me to my devices, causing my plan to be null. I made my way out of bed and walked into an adjacent room in my chambers. It was time to prepare for this frightening journey of mine.
We embarked on our travels at exactly the time specified. I made sure to force Alphonso to stay. He was extremely reluctant and unwilling, but being his senior, in terms of status, I abused my power this one time. So many things would be different now; I mean, I wasn't even sure if that Wyvern would show again.
The last time, it had shewed itself on the fifth day of our journey. We were near a large city called Jarie City, ruled by one famous Earl. This Earl was currently the one hosting the famous First Princess, whose birthday was in a few days.
She had said that The King wanted to avoid trouble, so he sent her away for some time, to come back just a few days to her birthday, see. That day was still as clear as crystal in my mind, especially now that it looked over my shoulders, ready to happen once again. This time, however, I would be prepared. If I couldn't fight the Wyvern, I'd just have to run; along with everyone who mattered. This was why I wanted Alphonso to remain behind. I didn't want to worry too much about him in the heat of the moment.
We journeyed the whole day and night, and the next day as well. We had taken with us the fastest horses to pull our carriage and carry the soldiers who were guarding us. There was also this large trunk in the back of our carriage. I asked Father what it was and all he replied with was 'a gift for the princess'.
We finally stopped for the first time on the third day since we began our journey. It was in a not-so-bad city a bit close to that Jarie City. I remember we also stopped here for a bit the last time. The next time we would stop, however, was in front of a Maroon Wyvern. I had to make good use of our stop here to get as much assistance I could find, whether with weapons or the like...
