"At least have some manners." A girl with huge ponytails huge up by massive pink ribbons stood by the side of Martin's desk, and glared at him dangerously.
Martin had placed his feet in his desk, and a book was over his head. There were sounds of snoring coming out from under the book.
Pinky's face turned into a grimace as she watched him.
He was fast asleep.
"The day isn't even over, and he's already sleeping. Such laziness." One of Pinky's consort spoke with spite but she didn't do anything to the boy.
The rest of the class looked at the little commotion that was happening, and they quickly understood.
"That low-class demon is at it again."
"Why does he cause problems wherever he steps his little feet into?"
There were bickering, and murmuring among the students.
Lance looked over, and slapped his forehead. It was a good thing he had not sat with Axton. That boy would have dragged him into his massive pile of problems.
Pinky was never one to let something go, she would trouble you until you were on your knees apologizing to her.
Rider was the captain of the class. Normally he wouldn't involve himself in such trivial issues, and let his assistant deal with it but the person in question was one he had a grudge on.
He stood up, and walked over to the center of the disturbance with Henley following right behind him as usual.
"Get out." Rider growled at the students who had gathered around the commotion, and they quickly moved apart to give their captain a chance.
Rider let his eyes roam over Martin's body, and he furrowed his brow.
His sitting posture was an insult to the A-grade students. His whole being was also more than a disgrace to the A-grade students.
Just because of a stupid wind rune, the boy was allowed to join their class, and that made Rider question the school's integrity.
Did this good-for-nothing kid had someone pulling the strings for him?
Rider's hand moved to remove the book that was on Martin's face. He wanted to get a better look at the boy's mediocrity.
As soon as he reached an inch closer to the book, something held his hand, and the strong grip caused sparks of pain through his body.
Rider clenched his teeth to suppress the cry of pain that wanted to leak out of his mouth.
He pulled but he wasn't able to release himself. Rider felt the mocking gaze of the class increasing his hate for the weakling in front of him.
This boy Axton wasn't even using magic, what kind of monster was he?
Martin removed the book from his face, and stares at the people that had gathered around him.
He looked down at his hand, and realized he was holding someone, so that was what had been squirming in his grip.
Rider held his aching hand as soon as Martin released it. He watched at the boy stood up from his seat, and walked out of the door without casting a single glance at any of them.
Who did this new kid think he was?
Martin, on the other hand could only think about how hungry he was.
He had been sleeping for two weeks, and he had nothing in his tank.
Martin stepped out of his class, and he realized that he had not been focusing when Teacher Sheila had brought him to this place.
The only thing he knew was that they had gone to a completely different floor.
Someone slapped his shoulder, causing him to turn around.
"Theo…" Martin said with a smile, at least one of his friends still stood by him.
"Follow me." Theodore smiled at him, and led him to the A-grade cafeteria.
Martin's eyes widened. These students had their own cafeteria.
It was no wonder why he didn't recognize Pinky, and a lot others. They ate like royalty away from the peasants.
However, he nearly choked when he saw the food prices.
His pockets were empty.
"Don't worry." With that single statement, Martin was almost about to sing out Theodore's praises but he knew that he still had to get money somehow.
Maybe it was time he visited that co-operation of adventurers. He hadn't even gotten the opportunity to practice his third wind spell.
He sat together with Theodore, and they ate without a single word.
Theodore's phone suddenly flashed, "I have to leave." He muttered.
Martin gave him a nod, he didn't think Theo had to ask for his permission before he left but on the other hand, it wasn't really a question.
Martin enjoyed his meal while his eyes darted around. He noticed that each lunch table belonged to a certain group of people in the school. However, his table only had one person which was him, and it was just as he wanted.
Lance was sitting with Rider and his minions.
His eyes darted to Martin before immediately looking away. He didn't want to do what he had done but without Rider, he would be stuck in the F-grade.
A tray slid on to Martin's table causing him to look up.
"Hey Tana." Martin smiled in between his meal.
"Shut up." Tana barked at him before taking a sit opposite his desk.
This behavior did not go unnoticed especially in the eyes of a certain captain.
"Rude." Martin had a lofty smile on his face.
"You are in big trouble." Tana growled at Martin, she couldn't understand how anyone would be so carefree.
"With your dad? Tell me something I don't know." Martin sipped from his juice box while his eyes were still on the red princess in front of him.
"He knows I invited you to my birthday." Tana reduced her voice.
"And?"
"He plans to ridicule you in front of everyone to ruin your chances of going to the Mage Order Academy." Tana slightly raised her voice.
She was angered by how easy he was taking the news. Didn't he understand how this would ruin his life?
Martin furrowed his brows.
He had heard of this Mage Order Academy but he never actually thought he could go there.
He was drowning in poverty, and he had to cut his coat according to his size so he didn't envision himself in such magnificent environment.
"Oh." Martin said, and Tana was amazed.
"Oh?"
"I don't know what to say, Tana." Martin concluded, and pushed his tray away.
"Don't you want to go to the Mage Order?" Tana arched a brow.
Martin thought about the question for a while.
He had to go to the Mage order Academy if he wanted to get stronger, because he knew that the world was a bigger place with a lot stronger people that Old Sigrid.
He couldn't get better if he had no competition.
"I do. Why are you telling me all these though?" Martin shifted his body closer to her, staring directly into her eyes.
Tana was dumbstruck. He was right.
Why was she exposing her father's plan to someone she had only met thrice?
There was nothing special in the boy. He was an orphan, and even lower than the low-class humans.
However, he had a fire in his eyes, one that she wanted to see burning no matter what.
"I don't know." She finally answered him.
Martin smiled widely at her as if she had truthfully answered him.
"I see then. Don't worry too much. Your father wouldn't be able to do anything to me." Martin put his hands behind his head and leaned into his chair.
"But…"
"I'm serious, Tana." Martin looked at her, the signs of his previous smile had become non-existent.
_If he wanted to harm me, he would have to become scarier than death._
