His intense stares lasted for more than a few intended seconds before he was able to get a grip over his own emotions. Realizing how awkward it might have seemed and that this woman, whose name he had unfortunately, not kept in his memory, just might have noticed, made him immediately scold himself. He wouldn't want to come off as that guy who was interested in having her, neither was he willing to massage her ego by letting her feel she was that beautiful.
Either ways, he reached for her outstretched hand, taking it in a firm formal handshake.
"Sorry, I didn't quite get your name." He smiled.
"Miss Emma Johnson." She smiled back.
"She's unmarried!" A voice whispered in his ears as he searched her fingers with his eyes for the presence of a ring, but there was none.
"Nice to meet you. I am Marcus Miller."
