WRITER'S POV
Things were looking pretty good for Annabelle as she still seemed to have Damien wrapped around her little finger. He had completely left Sophia unattended to, sparing not even the slightest of attention to her, and this for Annabelle was the perfect definition of having things under control.
The honeymoon was still planned to drag on for a couple of more weeks, across various countries.
Convincing Damien to cancel the trip, she knew, wouldn't be easy as he would come up with the excuse that his father had had everything booked ahead of time and his backing out of the plans would only show his lack of seriousness at making the marriage work. After all, he (Damien) had taken his valuable time to explain, in clear language, what the contract entailed; He has to put in the effort for a year else everything turns into one very big waste of time.
