Chapter 22 - 22. Confrontation

"Then we still wait here?" The other person who came with them was a boy. He was Jake's best friend named John.

"What do you think we should do?" The last person was also Jake's friend named Andy.

"Force the door open?"

"Do you want to enter the headlines tomorrow?"

John had similar background with Jake and naturally didn't want to make headlines. He looked at the camera that was facing in his direction from the corridor and felt irritable.

The food was decreasing and at this time, there were not many people who had enough food to eat.

"We can try to buy from others," Andy suggested.

"Let's wait." Jake still felt a fire was burning in his chest. Being treated so rudely by Anna and now they couldn't even meet with the other party, he felt very annoyed. Yet at the same time, he didn't think that it was strange.

Jake felt even more irritable now.

The others looked at each other and decided to follow Jake's words.

Upstairs, Anna was satisfied when she saw that Jake was muted by the administrator. She didn't have the interest to chat with that annoying man anymore.

"Hahaha! You really put him in his place, Anna!" Lucy was laughing heartily, very happy with Anna's decision.

"Of course." Anna nodded. "If there's something that you can't solve on your own, asking for help is still necessary, especially the authority."

Since there were 'police' and law enforcement officers, why not asking for help when it was needed?

She didn't want to cause troubles.

But if other people were looking for troubles, she will naturally retaliate.

"Do you think they're still waiting for you downstairs?" Lucy thought about another matter. Jake mentioned in the group chat that he was looking for Anna and currently at the 16th floor.

It was not easy for him to climb up and he might not want to go down without seeing Anna.

Anna furrowed her eyebrows. "Why is he still looking for me?"

"Because you're useful," Lucy replied.

Useful?

Anna thought about the fact that she was living on the 16th floor alone. Even if Jake and his friends didn't know about the food she had saved, they would think that this floor was safer than their than their 5th floor.

When they first bough this apartment, they would have never thought about buying the higher floors in order to avoid flood.

But now that the flood is coming, it was inevitable that there would be more problems.

If they couldn't settle a place for them to live, their life condition would become worse and worse.

These young master and misses definitely didn't want that to happen, so they hit on Anna's idea.

"I don't really want to see them, but if I really have to see them, then I'll hit them." Anna's favorability towards these two had fallen even further inside her heart.

Seeing them asking for help when they knew very clearly that she didn't like them, do they think that she was so easy to bully?

"Well, let's settle them now then." Lucy stood up.

"Now?" Mark arched his eyebrows at his girlfriend's words. However, he didn't mind in the slightest bit. He had known about Lucy's explosive personality and if confronting those people will help them to settle Anna's problem faster, then he will go and help.

"Well, rather than letting Sister Anna met them alone, isn't it better to be four against um, how many people are there with him?" Dylan tilted his head.

He didn't really pay much attention to Jake's friend when he came up. As long as Jake didn't bother Anna, he didn't want to make trouble with him unnecessarily in this situation.

"Ok." Anna looked at her friends and smiled brightly.

"Good. I have long wanted to slap his face. Unfortunately, I can't be present during the time you confront him." Lucy snorted. If Jake is in front of her, she would not hesitate to throw a punch to that man's face to make sure that he will not end well.

When she heard that Anna had to face that damn cold family and indifferent Jake, she felt heartache,

Thankfully, Anna is fine now.

"Let's go."

With that, they walked out and came down to the 16th floor.

Jake, Betty, and the other three were still there, standing around the corridor. At this time, they heard the footsteps and looked up only to see Anna came with the other three.

The air stagnated for a moment.
