Chereads / A DEAL BETWEEN ALPHAS / Chapter 3 - CHAPTER THREE

Chapter 3 - CHAPTER THREE

Emily ran for almost four hours before she could calm down. She was so angry, not at her father but at herself. She has been at this for the past four years since she started doing all of this and still no result. She couldn't just figure it out. What does she have to do to make him realize that she is fit for the role? she has run out of ideas.

By the time Emily got back it was already late. She saw Amelia sitting on the steps, waiting for her. Emily remembered how she shouted at her and suddenly felt guilty. She didn't mean to yell but she was just so frustrated.

Amelia stood up immediately she saw her and walked to her. "Are you okay? Feeling better?"

"I am so sorry for the way I shouted at you. I shouldn't have done that" Emily apologizes.

"It's fine. I am used to you temper anyway" Amelia says and brushes it off. "Let's go to your room. You need a shower."

Amelia waited for Emily in her room as she took a shower. Emily got out of the shower cleaning her hair. Emily knew what Amelia wanted to ask her and she hated that she had to give the same answer every time.

Amelia and Emily have been friend ever since high school. Emily was home schooled since she was born so it was a big surprise when her father told her that she will be going to a regular high school. Even though she has tried to bring up the topic with her father, she never though he will take her seriously. So, when her father allowed her to go to regular high school; just for senior year though, she was so happy.

When father told her that it will be a human school, she was hesitant but was better that being locked in that house in the name of home school.

On the first day of school day, during gym, she saw a few girls crowded in one area and wasn't really sure what they were doing. She wanted to ignore it till she heard someone scream from within the crowd. She got curious and went over there to check. To her greatest surprised she saw them beating a girl. She immediately pushed over the crowd and went to save the girl. When she raised the girl up, she could see that the girl was beaten up really bad and from the looks of thing it was something consonant.

"What is wrong with you people? Why are you hitting her like this?" Emily yelled at them.

"That is none of your business young lady so just move along. We run this school and I think you should do yourself a favor and step back." One of the girls, who seemed to be the leader said

"What did she do?" Emily asked

"That is none of your busin…"

"I am asking you politely so answer. What did she do?" Emily asked again. This time, with a firm voice. She could see fear in the girl's eyes but it got waved off immediately.

"If you must know, I gave her my homework and I got a C on the homework. I asked her to make sure I get an A."

Emily looked at her in surprise. It was the first time Emily was seeing something like this; being beaten for something that is not even her fault. She looked at the girl. She could see the fear in the girl's eyes and just knew that the girl wanted to be saved but didn't know how to ask. She looked at all the marks on the girl's body, so many scars and couldn't just help but wonder how long this has been going on. She could help but feel pity for the girl.

"What's your name?" Emily asked

"Amelia" the girl answered

Emily sighed and tried to carry the girl to the school clinic. As she was about to leave, one of the girls tried to drag her back.

"Hey"

Emily dropped the girl by the corner and allowed them drag her.

"How dare you?" the girl asked.

Emily stayed calm because didn't want to fight, especially on her first day of school but if the need calls for it, she will surely do it.

"Get your hands off me." Emily said

The girls laughed and said, "No honey, we are not letting you go with her. We run the school; we called the shots here. You can't just take her like that." One of the girls said dragging her back.

"I said let me go." Emily said again, this time she stared at the leader of the group. Emily knew that the girl was afraid, she was just acting tough but has seen this kind of people before. She knows their type and she will teach all these girls a lesson today.

"We are not letting you go till you bring…" before that girl could finish her words, Emily slapped her hands off and gave a heavy slap that pushed her to the ground. Other girls tried to attack seeing that she hit on of their own. Emily dodged all their punches and made sure to give all of them a befitting beating. She then dragged their leader by the hair and made her apologize to Amelia in front of the gym class.

"Now this will be the last time I will see you hit or bully anyone especially Amelia. If anything happens to her, I will not only drag your hair but I will cut all your hair and use it and make a blanket, do you understand?"

"Yes, I understand." The girl responded in fear. Emily let her go and took Amelia to the clinic. By the time they go there, all her wounds had healed. Emily was surprised and saw the mark on her neck. She realized that she was a wolf just like her, not only that, they were from the same pack.

When the nurse left, there was utter silence in the room.

"You are a werewolf." Emily said

"You too." Amelia replied. There was silence again. It was getting so awkward.

"Why do you allow them bully you? And I am sure these marks," Emily holds her hand "is just makeup. So why?"

"Do you think I want to through those girls up the roof and risk getting exposed. Being a wolf here is not really something that you say all the time. This is a human school. They brought us here to be able to blend in with the humans not kill them."

Emily finally understood why her father brought her here. She didn't know if she be happy or angry anymore.

"Are there others like us in this school?"

"Yes, of course, in fact every Friday we have a party and the betas and omegas challenge the alpha to duels. It is so fun to watch. You should come."

"Sure." Emily simply replied.

Ever since then, they have been best of friends.
