The boy just woke up and saw his adoptive mother still snoring and sleeping with her outfit messy. He rubbed his eyes and stood up, walking outside the tent he was sleeping in. The sun hasn't kissed the world yet, and he saw a knight silhouette sitting on a tree trunk. The boy was getting noticed by him.
"Hi, good morning, young lilac. You're early."
It was Kairos. His voice was a bit mellow. It showed something the boy had never seen in him before. The boy approached him, showing a concerned face.
"I'm okay," Kairos said.
"I'm just afraid of what was going to happen later. I thought I was only afraid of dying, but dying without finishing my responsibility might be way more terrifying than dying itself."
The boy stayed there, hearing him attentively, and his voice changed tone.
"Getting it out of my chest makes me easier. Thanks for hearing me out, young lilac."
The boy puffs out his chest and taps it with his right hand.
"You asked me to count on you? I guess I can count on Mey's disciple after all. You'll become a great wizard."
He nodded his head. But then he took a stick nearby and pointed his right hand at Kairos.
"You want me to train you?"
The boys nodded. The boy thought to himself that maybe training could help the old knight remove his anxiety.
"Ok, then, but wouldn't Mey be angry?"
The boy shook his head.
"Ok, then, I'll trust you on that."
They then proceed to train. Kairos first takes a look at what the boy is doing. The boy is doing his signature downward strike, which he was taught by his older brother at the orphanage. Kairos is quite impressed by the sound of the air getting cut by each strike.
Kairos said, "I guess you even had talent for swordsmanship. But I guess for you, it's still better to actually train your magic."
The boy shook his head. Then he gave a victory pose; it was not a victory pose in a sense, but he tried to convey the number two.
Kairos said, "You want to learn both of them? Quite greedy, aren't you? Okay, then first you need to correct your posture."
Kairos then helps him get a grasp on how to actually give power with each strike.
"Within each strike, you need to put your weight on it. The weight will be transferred to the sword by having your foot grip the ground."
The young boy nodded. He keeps on training the downward strike, but now the strike makes more sense and has even more cut into it. Kairos smiled. I guess the boy's plan succeeded after all.
"Hoaammm." Mey wakes up quite early and gets outside of her camp. Seeing both of them train hard until the sunrise Seeing both of them work wholeheartedly, Mey smiled.
"I'll make something for them to eat."
Mey walked to the ration they had. She flicks her hand, taking butter, mushrooms, onions, salt, pepper, flour, and milk flying near her. Then she flicked it once more, sending a frying pan and a pot flying near her and a bowl that she caught herself in.
"I think that's it."
Then she walked outside to the campfire and torched it on with fire magic. Then she steadily moved the flying frying pan to the fire and put the butter there. The fragrance was flying across the camp. wake up all of the knights that have been sleeping. She then cut the mushrooms and onions with wind magic and put them in the frying pan. The pan moves itself and makes the butter melt, and the mushrooms and onions are being fried. Meanwhile, she put the milk, salt, and flour in the bowl and mixed them. After about one minute, she switched the frying pan with the pot and shoved all the contents inside the frying pan and bowl into the pot.
Now even Kairos and Wedge, who were concentrating on training, could not resist. After all, mushroom soup is the favorite food of both Kairos and the young boy. Especially Meyeri's, since it's her best dish. Without even knowing it, all of them are now gathered in one place, with the witch's magical breakfast. All of them were drooling.
"Don't just drool; get the bread and bowls from the stash!" Mey said.
All of them then queue, and they eat until the bowl is empty. The young lilac and Kairos were really happy with the food. Meyeri then said,
"Let's continue the travel quickly after we finish breakfast."
They then continued to walk and arrived at the Elven Kingdom in the afternoon. In front of the gate, a man dressed like a noble with red hair and an elven woman with a familiar face greeted them.
Kairos said, "It's been a long time, Icarus."
Icarus said, "Hi, what happened to you? Old too fast!"
Cithrel said, "Darling, please watch your language."
Icarus replied, "Sorry."
Meyeri was confused beyond comprehension.
Kairos said, "You don't know? They got married."
Meyeri was then shocked and fainted comically. The boy looked at her mom and tried to wake her up.
Icarus said, "Anyway, welcome to the Elven Kingdom. The King and Queen of the Elven Kingdom greeted you with the utmost pleasure and invited you lots to the palace."
They then proceeded to walk into the Elven Kingdom. Meyeri takes a look around and finds something intriguing.
"Is this really the Elven Kingdom that I know?"
Icarus replied, "Yes, of course. After I became the King, I wanted the Elven Kingdom to have technologies installed just like the human kingdom."
The environment was truly different from before. The Elven Kingdom was known as a kingdom made from wood and trees. But now it had borders with concrete; it even had houses made from concrete instead of the hays they used to be.
Icarus said, "I'm implementing what I know and doing a revolutionary change for the sake of kingdom security. The concrete will give us safety from monsters and ensure all of the civilians wellbeing."
"I bet everyone was shocked by this."
"You bet, the elder was definitely against me. But after I insist on doing it for the safety of the elves, they yield."
"Was it really that effective?" Kairos asked.
"20 years. After I got elected as king, for 20 years, there was no single death of an elf."
"That's really good. There will always be hundreds of deaths when a city gets attacked. What is this 'concrete' you meant anyway?" Meyeri asked.
"Yes, I developed how to make concrete using sand, gravel, and a mixture of what I accidentally created while being a blacksmith. Then I mixed it with water and shaped it as a cube."
Meyeri nodded. She understood that a chemical process could be the key to creating a new, unknown compound. The New Elven Kingdom is in such good hands now. She thought to herself.
"And what about this blue-haired boy?" CIthrel said.
The boy shied away, getting behind Meyeri.
"Oh, he is my child."
Both Icarus and Cithrel shocked me beyond belief.
"Did you both finally do the deeds?" Icarus said.
"Who initiated first?", Cithrel continued.
The old man then got flushed and said, "It's not my child!"
Icarus and Cithrel then looked at Meyeri and gave him a disappointed face.
"What?! I'm adopting a boy. What's wrong with that?"
Then they arrived at the palace. Icarus and Cithrel then walked up to the throne and both of them sit there.
"Okay, now I officially welcome you, to the New Elven Kingdom!" Icarus said.
