It was a sunny day in north Carolina,
it should have been a normal day for Lola right.
Fate has different plans for her, as soon she would fall into a new world.
Lola walked down the halls of her apartment, she needed to go to the store.
she forgot to pick up bread on her way home from school.
she sighed shaking her head, not wanting to go and, just sit at home.
there was a new episode of kitchen nightmares.
she smiled and jumped a little in excitement.
"I can't wait. if I run I might make it in time." she thought.
she started at a fast walk then into a trot before full on sprinting out the apartment complex.
she looked around seeing warn down buildings.
"this place use to be so nice....
people would wave and greet you friendly.
these were once homes...and now they just sit empty."
she couldn't help but to feel a little sad.
seeing the decay of what people once called homes.
this was a warn down area...
it use to be a lively city but now.
it feels stranges.
Lola kept running wanting to get back home quickly.
she bolted past building until she reached the store.
"yes now I just need to get the bread."
she smiled before stopping hearing a soft sound.
she stopped looking around, "where is that sound."
meow...
a small white kitten stepped out from under a old jeep.
it fur was dirty and matted.
the kitten hungry eyes begged for food.
she blinked before melting.
bending down slowly reaching out, "come here little baby. it's okay."
she whispered gently.
the kitten stopped stepping back meowing gently.
Lola looked up at the store having an idea.
"oh wait here." she said before standing up going into the store.
a few minutes later she walked out with a can of cat food.
she bent down and cracked it open.
the sound made the kitten excited bouncing over moweing.
running straight for the food forgetting all about the scary human.
Lola sat the can down watching the white kitten eat.
poor thing must have been starving.
she reached out to pet it before the kitten jumped a little hissing at her.
she pulled her hand back knowing to leave the kitten be.
it needed to eat, she tilted her head a little before the thought crossed her mind.
"I came here for bread..I just used my last $2.."
she smiled
it was worth it tho.
she could all ways make noddles at home, life must be ruff for the little kitten.
she stood up slowly knowing she wanted to take the kitten home.
she looked down letting out a sigh, the apartment doesn't allow pets.
she turned away slowly walking away, the sun going to set soon.
as she started walking her way home she looked back not paying attention to where she was walking.
she saw the kitten look up from the can of cat food, giving it a soft smile.
all the sudden screeching of a cars wheels against the pavement screamed out before there was a loud bang.
Lola didn't even realize what had happened laying on the ground in pain to dazed to fully understand what happened.
it hurt so bad she felt tears rolling down her bloody cheek.
she opened her eyes everything was blurry, she tired to take a breath but it hurt it hurt so bad.
she moved a little trying to sit up but couldn't.
she let out a soft wheezes trying to stay awake.
she could hear someone screaming crying out " I didn't mean to I didn't mean for this to happen."
the person sounds hypocritical.
she blinked feeling tired she didn't think she could keep her eyes open anymore.
she saw something white...it was moving closer.
she reached out hand shaking before it was right up in her face...was... was it the kitten she fed?
the white kitten looked at her before closing its eyes licking her cheek.
she wasn't sure what the kitten was trying to do but....at least she wasn't alone.
she gently used what energy she had giving the kitten a soft pet before she couldn't hold her eyes open any longer.
as soon as she closes her eyes she felt like she was falling through space.
she didn't feel like she could control her body, falling limply into the darkness before she felt like she hit the ground.
she gasped sitting out crying grabbing her face, "no! no no no!"
she cried hysterical still confused from being hit by the car.
she felt her face then looked down, she...she was fine.
she gasped shaking still crying, how...how was she fine.
wait grass she was on concrete when she was hit.
she felt to scared to look up, shaking looking at her hands trying to calm down.
she eventually regain herself looking up, eyes filled with tears and shaking.
"where...where am I..." she said softly shaking.
