Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Clothes and scent blockers were prepared for Ezra and they were placed on his bed. There was also a suppressant tablet beside it as well as a bottle of water on the table. Ezra guessed that he should use it even though his heat going to be arriving in about two weeks.

"Just in case," he said to himself.

He hears another knock on his door again in ten minutes. Ezra checked the time on his phone to see that there were still about fifteen minutes left.

He quickly takes the suppressant pill and takes some water before rushing to the door and opening it.

He saw it was the butler. "Sorry to disturb you," the butler said. "But the Master Arthur wants to see you."

'Who is Master Arthur? ' Ezra thought. 'It must be the real son of the family.'

"Where does he want to meet me?" Ezra asked.

"In the study room," the butler replies in a monotonous voice.

Ezra walks to the study room silently praying that the real son is a nice person and not a rude brute, who thinks that he is nothing but a birthing machine whose only purpose is to serve Alphas and birth their children like Mr. Dumas.

He knocks on the study room's mahogany wooden door.

"Come in," Ezra hears a majestic, velvety voice coming from the other end of the door.

He opens the door and sees a black-haired Alpha male with dark purple eyes and a very handsome face.

He looks like a male version of Mrs. Dumas, but he has Mr. Dumas's hair and eyes.

Extra couldn't help but think that this boy in front of him looked a bit familiar.

It doesn't matter now, he just wants to know what this guy wants from him and leave. "Is there something wrong?" he asked timidly.

"Yes," Arthur said.

Ezra took a deep breath. "What is it?"

Arthur stood up and walked towards him, standing at about 5'8ft, about an inch taller than Ezra. "Don't you remember me?" Arthur asked.

Ezra frowns and shakes his head slowly. "Sorry, no, I don't," he replies honestly. "I'm I supposed to?"

Arthur fakes being sad. "I can't believe my prince forgot his knight in shiny armor, " he said clutching his heart.

Ezra was stunned. There's only one person who he calls his knight in shiny armor.

When he was still in elementary school, the other children used to bully him and there was this boy, who was the son of Mr. Dumas's friend, who used to protect him all the time.

"Arthur," Ezra called his name, his voice was shaking a bit as he smiled slowly.

"You miss me, little prince?" Arthur said opening his arms for a hug, which Ezra jumped into.

He silently cried into his chest. "I missed you," Ezra said, but his voice was a bit muffled into his chest.

Arthur brushed his hair with his fingers while patting his back. "Me too," he said.

Ezra had a lot of questions for Arthur, but dinner would soon be served and they would get in trouble if they were late.

"I have a lot of questions but let's go and have dinner first, I don't want us to get in trouble," he said tugging Arthur's sleeves for them to go.

"Alright," Arthur replies allowing himself to be dragged by Ezra.

On their way to the dining hall, they came across Mr. Dumas.

Ezra stood stiffly and his breathing quickened in fear when he stood before him.

The middle-aged man looks at Ezra with disgusted eyes when he sees him pulling Arthur.

Ezra could read Mr. Dumas' mind from his eyes. "How dare a lowly Omega touch my son?"

Ezra could hear Mr. Dumas say this, and he released Arthur's sleeves immediately. "Good evening sir, " Ezra says quietly.

He could tell that he wasn't wanted here by the way he was being looked at and he wanted to find a hole to bury himself.

Arthur notices this and he has a cold look in his eyes. "The both of you are late," he said harshly. "You know the rules, Ezra, don't let it happen again."

Extra pursed his lips while looking down. "It won't happen again, sir," he said quietly in a low voice.

Ezra leaves Arthur's side and walks to the dining room, where the other family members are waiting.

The people present were Mr. Dumas' parents, Mrs. Dumas, and Candice, Mr. Dumas' illegitimate daughter. An Alpha female that was brought back two years ago.

She is very nice to him and smiles at him when he arrives.

No one said anything when he arrived and he went to sit next to Candice.

In about ten minutes Arthur and Mr. Dumas come into the dining room.

Mr. Dumas was in a bad mood, his pheromones were everywhere causing him to shake.

Arthur, however, was looking rather calm, but Ezra could tell he too was in a bad mood, although he could not smell his pheromone, there was this feeling of danger around him.

That scared him a lot more the Mr. Dumas.

Dinner was eaten in silence, It is a rule in the Dumas family to eat dinner in silence, one that Ezra appreciates, because the atmosphere between Arthur and Mr. Dumas is so strong that you could cut it with a knife.

'I wish I could return to my apartment,' he thought pitifully.

Once dinner was done, Arthur got up and walked to Ezra, grabbed his hand pulled him up. "Huh?" Ezra said in surprise as he was dragged out of the dining room. He was even more surprised when Mr. Dumas didn't say anything as he was dragged away.

He doesn't look happy with Arthur, but he doesn't say anything.

Arthur was holding him a bit too tight, and it was hurting Ezra but he didn't say a thing.

They returned to the study room and Arthur closed the door.

Arthur released him and Ezra rubbed his wrist, it was very red.

When Arthur saw this, he was distressed. "Why didn't you tell me I was hurting you?"

"I'm sorry," Ezra replies holding both his hands and bowing his head submissively.

"Why are you apologizing?" Arthur asked cupping his face. "I'm the one who hurt you, I'm sorry," he apologizes.

Ezra was surprised by this apology. "Alphas don't apologize," he remembers Mr. Dumas' lesson to him when he was younger when it was believed that he was going to be an Alpha, Mr. Dumas always told him that sentence whenever he did something wrong and he was getting punished.

He would apologize and his punishment would worsen every time he did.

"It's fine," Ezra replies with a smile. He is happy that Arthur didn't turn out to be a brute or like Mr. Dumas.
