Chapter 11 - Him again: part 1

Leslie opened her eyes slowly, her head throbbed in pain. Letting her gaze adjust she looked around where she was, the room was dark with no source of light.

Leslie wondered what happened after she fainted, recalling the demon's feature she shivered in fright and disgust, but what confused her was why exactly was she still alive, her brows creased and where was she.

Getting up from the bed, 'wait a sec, they put her on a bed' she thought, maybe the demons weren't as bad as they looked, Making her comfortable while she was unconscious. She tried to get up but the throbbing in her head became worse

'You should stay put' Uriel suggested coldly, 'ohhh right you're still here' Leslie thought, it seems her hopes were still high when she assumed he would have been gone by now "I need to find a source of light I can't see a thing" she said attempting to get up one more time only to land back on the bed 'more reason to stay put'

Leslie's eyes narrowed she began to wonder what was going on with her body, she was having a headache not paralysed and why did she feel like Uriel was behind her inability to move. 'your body is just too weak' Leslie raised her eyebrows, she didn't ask for an explanation "I've been unconscious for hours, how is my body still weak, Uriel if you're in control of my body stop it" Leslie demanded she needed to know what the place she was looked like if she wanted to escape.

'I cant do that without your consent' Uriel replied, Leslie was skeptic because he had every reason to if he wanted her to stay put, "look we need to find a way to escape before whoever kept us here returns" Leslie said attempting to get up again 'no need, he's already coming'

Alarmed Leslie laid back on the bed and closed her eyes pretending to be unconscious.

The door clicked open, Leslie's ear perked up. it wasn't locked, meaning the person who took her didn't plan to keep her in captivity. Slow footsteps that sounded oddly familiar, and the silence made it even more sophisticated. "I know you're awake intern, you do know how to act I should ask them change your position as a graphic designer" hearing the deep voice her heart sank.

Slowly opening her eyes she let her gaze fall on her boss she was meeting for the second time, right after waking up. she was beginning to think this was too much of a coincidence.

"By the way if you keep fainting in my presence, I'll begin to think you just want my attention" Adrian added pouring in a cup of water through a jug, Leslie wanted to laugh, all her life she was running away from the attention but shouldn't she be asking him how he was there when she fainted

"How?" Leslie asked, using her hand to support her body so she could sit up properly, "how what?" Adrian replied walking towards the chair at the bed side, "how did you find me?" It didn't just make sense to her, she wasn't completely sure but something told her where she got lost into wasn't real. Adrian paused handing her the cup of water in his hand, Leslie took it without hesitation this time, sipping the content slowly "I followed you" Adrian deadpanned making Leslie choke in shock, coughing hard Adrian patted her back "you should drink water slowly, at this rate water itself could kill you" he added still patting her back, Leslie couldn't believe he could say such a thing with a straight face, are all angels like this she was beginning to think so, her eyes where teary from coughing alot.

Finally calming down from the onslaught she sat up straight, she had soo many questions yet she didn't know where to start and she didn't know if he was willing to answer "you can ask me anything you want to know later, I'll send a maid to attend to you" saying this Adrian got up leaving the room as dark as it was, she was about to tell him she needed light but he had already disappeared behind the door.

Laying her back on the soft mattress she exhaled relieved and happy the demons didn't get her.
