Aldana left.
Norris sat in the cafe, slowly exhaling.
Despite the constant temperature inside, she felt a cold surrounding her, as if ice shards were flowing through her veins.
It seemed like her brain would freeze as well.
Truthfully, she didn't know how much longer she could hold on.
She had never been this exhausted in her entire life.
It was hard to imagine her prideful nature allowing anyone to trample on her dignity like that.
If Lily were by her side, she'd definitely be shocked.
The once haughtily proud Norris Moore had become incredibly humble.
Norris sat on the couch, massaging her temples, trying to clear her thoughts.
She was reminiscing about the past again.
This wasn't good.
The past could not be brought back; no matter how splendid those days might have been, there was no need to remember them.
She feared that if she thought too much, she would be unable to handle the present reality and resort to suicide.
She absolutely couldn't die now.
She carried the lives of too many people on her back; her death would bury the whole family.
How could she just die after allowing the Moore family to fall to such a state?
The phone on the table suddenly rang.
Norris hesitated for a second, then quickly answered the call from the hospital: "Principal Chapman, what's the matter?"
"Miss Moore, remember to pay your father's nursing fees for this month today," Principal Chapman's voice was kindly.
Norris blinked, "Isn't there still three days left?"
She used to pay at the beginning of the month, and although there were only three days left this time, this was the first time she had been personally reminded.
"I heard that Miss Moore is having some difficulties recently," Principal Chapman's voice was still warm, "You should know that your father's daily nursing fee is five thousand, our hospital isn't a charity, and we can't afford even a day's loss."
She realized that he must have heard about Trenton's retaliation and was now worried she wouldn't be able to afford it.
Norris clenched her fingers, her voice strained, "Principal Chapman, when my father was still awake, you called each other brothers, and now that the Moore family is in trouble, are you unwilling to grant even a day?"
Principal Chapman's voice suddenly became cold, "Norris, if it weren't for my hospital, who in Tung City would take in your Moore family's patients? You should reflect on who you've offended!"
Norris closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and whispered softly, "I understand. Principal Chapman, at the latest by the beginning of the month, I will bring the money. I promise you won't lose a cent."
"Norris, these are your own words. If you don't transfer the money by the beginning of the month, I'll throw your father out of the hospital!"
Norris remained silent and hung up. She pressed one hand against her forehead, then bit her lip until it began to bleed. The intense emotion on her face slowly faded away as the pain calmed her near-collapse state.
When she looked up again, her face had regained its composure. She glanced at the time on her phone, her eyes darkened, then stood up from the cafe, walked out expressionlessly, and hailed a cab.
"To A&M International."

Once known as the "Moore Sun Group," the company had been revamped and Trenton took over the Moore clan, renaming it "A&M International." Over the past six months, they had expanded their business operations, far surpassing the glory of Luke Moore's era.
