Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The person she loves is truly cold-blooded and heartless.

"No." Norris Moore faintly smiled, "I know when you look at me, you'll think of three years ago. Therefore, if I were to disappear, wouldn't it all end? I can't go back to the past, I can't undo meeting you, but I can disappear. Mr. Smith, if I were dead, could you spare the Moore family?" Her voice lowered slightly towards the end, trembling subtly.

This was the only solution she could think of.

This man had trampled her into the dirtiest muck, and still, she could do nothing to placify him.

Perhaps, only her life could be exchanged for the lives of the Moore family and solve this problem.

...And for her, this would also mean release.

If he agreed, then truly, this would be a method that served everyone's best interests.

Trenton Smith looked at her knife, his face a mix of smile and scorn, "Do you think by saying this, I would let the Moore family go?"

"Mr. Smith..."

"Norris, stop threatening me like this. I've seen enough." His tone bore a subtle mockery, "This is tiresome."

Norris Moore laughed softly. She raised her head to look at his face, her gaze sweeping inch by inch over his face, every sweep burning something in her eyes to ashes.

The man she loved was indeed cold-blooded and ruthless.

This suited her just fine.

She pressed her wrist forcefully, the sharp knife pierced her abdomen, "How about this? Is it sincere now?" The pain made her voice unsteady, "…I really can die, please, spare the Moore family. Please."

She needed to save them. If she could exchange her life for the lives of the three Moore family members, she would do it willingly.

She was living now, merely for their sake.

She owed them far too much, she had to ensure their survival.

Blood oozed out, flowing down the blade and onto her hand. Norris painfully lowered her head, "Mr. Smith, please..."

Unable to hear any response from Trenton, she thought her sincerity was still lacking. She pushed the blade further, intending to thrust the entire knife into herself.

As the blade slid halfway in, a hand suddenly squeezed hers, gripping her so hard it almost crushed her wrist.

"Norris Moore, you lunatic!"

She heard Trenton's teeth grinding in fury.
