Chapter 1 - Dark Hatred

Season 1: Hybrid Arc

1 - Dark Hatred

It's midnight and Teo is getting off from playing video games. He stretches his arms and yawns, realizing it's time to get ready for bed. But just as he's about to turn off the console, his phone starts ringing. It's Tori, his best friend. He immediately picks up the phone and responds, excited to catch up with her. They stay up all night chatting about their first day of school.

As the sun rises east, Ein tells Teo to get ready because he only has a few minutes before they have to leave. Everything is in pure chaos trying to get ready. Ein tells Teo he had already packed his stuff. He is relieved he does not need to pack. As they were walking out the door Saundra (Teo & Ein's mother) was waiting outside in the car. Teo and Ein hop into the car and drive off. As they are driving Ein talks to Mom about their first day at a university. Teo is staring at the window so tediously. The awkward silence soon fills the car as Saundra quickly asks Teo. Mom asked why Teo is so tired. "It's because he was talking to Tori late at night," Ein said. He is shocked, turning his head while facing directly towards Ein in the back of the car. While mom is looking through the rear mirror. "So, if I did, how would you know?" Teo responded. In a smart yet calm tone, Ein begins to explain.

"I am your brother."

Teo quickly tries to defend himself, but Ein cuts him off. "You also left your computer on so I immediately knew you were playing with someone. Not to mention, your phone was not on the charger." Ein said. "Me and Tori are just excited about our first day and could not stop thinking about what could happen," Teo says. Saundra looks back at the road and teases the younger son. "I see Teo has a girlfriend." Teo's face turns red thinking his mother is crazy. "Mom, we are just friends," Teo said. She gives off a smirk with a soft right coming from her mouth. As they continued driving they finally reached the airport. Teo and Ein are in the airport waiting for their friends. Teo begins thinking about Tori and Ein notices. Anyone in the space noticed him daydreaming about his friend.

"Hey, let's get some food," Ein said. Walking to the market, Ein tries to cheer up Teo. "They should be here soon." They start ordering food from the market and while ordering, some guy yells at them telling them to hurry up. Ein turns around and confronts him. Teo turns around and has a nervous look on his face. Ein can immediately tell he is an Elementalist.

Elementalists are those with the ability to control elemental powers. (Fire, Water, Wind, etc) Ein is the one getting cussed out because he is a werewolf. Even though we live in the modern world where "powers" exist, people would mostly despise werewolves. But for some reason, they have nothing against elementals. They would praise them, and show prejudice towards werewolves. We all have civil rights, but there are still people who treat others unfairly. Ein is crossed, he wanted to make a scene in the restaurant, but he won't. He tells Teo to grab their food and leaves the counter. The man went to go order his food but was denied service for being rude to customers.

He sees Ein upset and gives him some boneless buffalo wings to cheer him up. Ein reluctantly agreed. Their friends finally arrive at the airport. Ein welcomes them for making the trip. "It's good to see you, Maria & Tori." All four of them are happy to see each other. They begin to head onto the airplane. Barely anyone is on the plane, the inside interior is a peach color. Teo and Tori are seated in a row, while Ein and Maria are seated in another. As the plane takes off, they all feel a smooth sensation. Teo and Tori begin talking. "I just realized that everyone on this plane is either an Elementals or a Werewolves," Tori said. While talking Teo looks at her. "Hey, do you remember this?" Teo creates a small ball of fire and immediately she knows what to do. Tori then creates her small ball of water and says. "Of Course, I remember, I created it." The two hot and cold spheres of elements were the signs of friendship between the two and their strong connection with each other.

Ein sees this and begins talking to Maria about Teo and Tori. "Why won't those two just start dating?" Maria said. Ein is unsure why Maria would think that and yet completely understands. Ein mentions that it's been a while since they hung out, and asks her if they want to go to a restaurant once they landed on the island. Maria accepts the invitation, but before she says anything else she looks towards Teo and Tori's direction. There was absolutely zero noise coming from both of them. "They're asleep," Maria says.

Friday, 3 pm, and they made it to the island. A tropical island filled with palm trees, bright beaches, and tall buildings with digital artwork. The excitement fills the air the minute they step foot on the island. Ein leads the way to their apartment. The hotel they will be staying at is massive. The elevator takes them to this door and leads into a gigantic living room, with the kitchen on one side, and the dining room on the other side. And past the living room, there are four rooms. Each room is for the four of them. They later unpacked their belongings and got comfortable in their new home. "Thanks again for letting us stay with you guys," Tori says. Ein tells her that she should be thanking their mother. "If anyone deserves credit for this it's mom."

After finishing a conversation with Maria, he heads into his room and shuts the door. In the mirror, he reveals his black ears and tail. He all of a sudden feels a sense of discomfort. Querying what if Tori finds out he is a werewolf? No matter how powerful, anyone can feel pain, both physically and mentally. Maria all of a sudden pops out and scares Teo thinking it was someone else. However, he was still in shock that Maria somehow knows about his ears and tail. Teo asks her how she knows, but points towards Ein. "She knew since you were a baby."

Once everything cleared up between them, they decide to head out for dinner. When they sat down at the restaurant, they immediately began to order food. Burgers, Buffalo wings, pizza, salad, steak, shrimp... They were all hungry from the long plane ride. It was a lot of food. A man that was at the airport immediately recognizes Teo & Ein. (For the food he wasn't able to order for being rude to customers.) His friend Daniel attempts to convince him it is not worth it. "Just drop it, Micheal, why couldn't just grab food at another stand? Without thinking, he ignores Daniel and rushes over to their table. His voice was so loud that people outside the restaurant could hear him.

Tori tries to calm things down, but she gets pushed back. Micheal creates a large burst of wind from his hands and sends the food flying off the table. He continues pushing them even more saying that werewolves are a disgrace. "You are all a bunch of dogs," Micheal said. Fueling Teo's rage, even more, he gets up and does the unthinkable. Teo punches Micheal in the stomach, grabs his face, and slams it onto the ground. He then threw him outside the restaurant. Micheal flew out like one of One Shot Man's shockwaves. "Damn," Maria said in shock. At that moment, it was the most shocking yet scariest moment they have ever witnessed. Tori and Maria try to calm him down, but they couldn't do anything. It was like he was having a tantrum. Ein apologizes to the manager for making a scene and leaves.

They arrive at the apartment and put Teo in his room. He was filled with mixed-up emotions and couldn't keep himself under composure. All of a sudden, Teo's eyes turned from dark brown to crimson red. Revealing the burning eyes of an Ultima like the depths of hell. The Ultima, a "mythical beast" locked up in chains waiting to be released. Its powers are stronger than a Werewolf and Elementalist combined. Teo has the power to kill anyone in his sight without hesitation. But as a one out of a million chance to turn someone into a werewolf. And yet with so much power, is somewhat seen as a curse. Teo did not want to hurt Micheal. He felt like he had to because he had no choice. Because he disrespected his friends and so he felt like it was necessary.

Ein walks into Teo's room trying to make him understand what he did was wrong. He wants Teo to acknowledge that he could easily expose himself to a large crowd of people. To realize Tori could have been exposed and potentially killed. Before the conversation can end, Ein thanks, Teo, for standing up for him. Teo went to bed that night afraid of his power.

Meanwhile, Ein contacts their mother to let her know about the incident. Saundra is in an office building and wants Ein to make sure that Teo is kept in check. If Ein cannot control Teo then she will not help fund their education as punishment

The conversation ends as Saundra pauses for a moment. She decides to call their father. He picks up the phone on a boat in the middle of the ocean heading towards an island. Apparently, he was on a mission, some elementals went rogue on the island and must be detained. However, they have not been able to get in contact since. "Be Careful, Zach. Love you." Saundra said.

Zach steps foot on the island with his shoes on the sand and begins heading deeper into the island looking for civilians. The terrain went from a beach to a forest, then transitions into a field of debris. Zach stops only to find a chunk of a skull and a burnt world ear. He contacts Agent Miller to see if there are any survivors. "When my squadron got there the entire city was burned." Agent Miller said. The bodies met the same fate as the buildings. "Nothing but ashes and rubble," Zach said.

They began heading back to the boats. Then Zach senses someone approaching in the forest. He tried to tell Agent Miller to take cover, but he was knocked out immediately. Zach quickly draws his weapon, then sees a young kid with a white hoodie. Dark red eyes, dark gray ears, and a tail. Gripping the wooden sword he rushes towards Zach aiming for his neck. Zach immediately pulls a metallic bow staff and clashes. The boy, impending revenge, intimidates Zach with his dark red eyes turning into pure white stained eyes. The eyes of the Ultima.
