Chapter 35 - Chapter 35 – A New School

Third person POV

But this presents another problem: There are barely any schools to educate everyone. The only schools are just small ones for children and some others for new recruits in the military. And another problem arose: who's going to be a teacher of basic subjects and head of the education sector to train new ones? Lloyd actually questioned these problems after he had made that decree, and now, wondering what he needed to do. Luckily for him, there's no extensive building yet so most of his country's construction workers are not building any new infrastructure at all.

So, finding out about that, he called his subordinates for a proposal of building a new school in the capital. So, finding out about that, he called his subordinates for a proposal of building a new school in the capital. Not long after, they began to drew out and plan out a layout and blueprint of the country's first comprehensive school in Lewole.

"How many classrooms to be exact?" Sati asked him.

"Humans typically study math, science, history, geography, literature, and language arts," Lloyd replied back, "but there are other extracurricular courses like cooking, hospitality, engineering, among others. But, let's make them 6, and all can be chosen according to their wishes and preferences."

 "Oh..." Zeke responded.

"But most of these extracurriculars were taught in guilds, which are more like schools, but also your workplaces as well, starting from the lowest rank."

"What lowest rank?" Xerxes asked back.

"Apprentice to be exact." Lloyd moved his hand to another corner of the paper with his pencil.

 "Okay, strange rank."

"Wow, you're not going to make them mandatory to learn?" Laura asked.

"Well, in my view," Lloyd responded with an explanation, "schools supposed to be a place of learning whatever they want, not a manufacturing hub for new workers."

He learns this from his experience back at Langton.

His subordinates get what he had said and agreed with him.

"Okay," Lloyd said to them as he finishes the last small details, "this is what it will looked like."

He then showed the finished plan to them.

The school only have one floor, but the floor space is big for all 6 subjects, and this also includes a cafeteria for meals, 2 restrooms, and a library.

But it was only 1 building, and Lloyd tells them that they will add more buildings in the future just in case anything comes up.

Eventually, under the human village chieftain's orders, a plot of land east of the capital's main plaza was selected and cleared out for the new school. Dozens of Undead animals as humans were involved in the construction, and the building will be made of bricks and the roofing will be made of roofing tiles. The plot land had some extra space for the possible future additional buildings, too.

As he watches in observing, Lloyd was optimistic that his plan will work. But then, Zeke asked him, "Who's gonna be the teacher here?" To that the young village chieftain thinks for a while, and he eventually said, "I'll be the temporary teacher until we get one. Let's make advertising flyers for a new teacher."

"Okay, where we will put them?" Hale asked.

 "Anywhere but Langton."

They remembered how Langton was not nice to the young boy so they agreed with him.

And so, while the new school was being constructed, they commissioned a bunch of paper flyers advertising for a new teacher for the new school using printing presses imported from Kalelis. The ad was in the human language so anyone who reads it would understand it. The ad promises free food and housing with no payment. (At the time, currency was in the form of trading goods, and money was not introduced yet.)

Once the flyers were made, they sent out 2 dozen Undead dragons and birds to spread the paper ad everywhere but Langton, which was excluded from their list. They nailed the papers on walls wherever they landed a potential area. The spreading only took 3 hours, and they went back to Wooda once the job was finished. But, who will be the first teacher then?
