Third person POV
Later, at noon, Lloyd and Gretchel returned to Lewole to eat lunch. There the decorations were still on, as if Lloyd and his subordinates planned to keep them on until the end of the day. And as they eat a hearty meal for lunch, Gretchel thinks about attending the first school in the country. While still having that thought, she verbalized it to her older half-brother.
"Are you sure, sis?" Lloyd replied back while raising an eyebrow for a couple seconds.
Gretchel then nodded. "Yes, so I could learn what I want to learn. Is that school good?"
"Yes, ma'am," Sati responded to this while eating, "it only had two mandatory subjects, and they will be math and reading and writing."
"Okay, but I already knew how to read and write," Gretchel replied nicely and meekly.
"Yes, but you might need to learn this country's writing system," Lloyd said to her while sipping on his glass of water.
"Writing system?"
"We have our own writing system," Zeke responded, "but master just make a standardized, hybrid for general use."
"Is that too hard to learn?"
To that Lloyd and his subordinates think for a while.
"Not that hard," Sati answered back. "You might recognize some letters in the new alphabet."
"Oh, okay then. I would like to give it a try."
"Okay, it is decided!" Lloyd stood up. "You will be attending the first school in the country."
Later, after lunch, Lloyd took Gretchel to the school so he could enroll her. There they went to Maria in her office. She was preparing some lessons for the afternoon classes at that time when they came. Then, Lloyd knocked on the door twice.
"Come in," Maria replied.
Lloyd opens the door, and he and Gretchel entered, before he would close the door.
Upon noticing them, Maria stopped what she was doing and looked at them with no stooped posture. "Oh, Lloyd-sama, hi. What brings you here for today?"
"Hi there, Maria-chan," Lloyd greeted back nicely and positively. "I'm here because my sister wants to study here."
Maria was surprised to hear that. "Is that so, Lloyd-sama?"
And then, Gretchel, who had been silent the whole time, finally spoke up, "I want to study here. I want to learn whatever I want."
"Are you sure about that?" Maria blinked her eyes once.
"Yes, can you please at least let me try studying here? I'm sure this is a decent school."
While Maria wasn't sure, Lloyd just persuaded. "Just do it. She wants a decent school to attend to."
Because Lloyd was the village chieftain, Maria had no choice but to give in and let Gretchel study in her school, much to Gretchel's excitement.
"I'll do my best to study!" Gretchel promised.
And so, Lloyd registered her into the school, and Maria tells Gretchel that she may start attending tomorrow morning.
Once again, Gretchel shows her enthusiasm for her new life as a student at the country's first school.
(At the same time, many schools started to pop up at different autonomous tribes, and they are often small enough to serve small communities.)
And so, a day later, at 7, Gretchel went on her first day in Lewole's main and first school, having eaten breakfast and dressed modestly since the school had good and fair dress codes. At the school, she introduced herself in her first class for the morning. Maria was happy and reminded her other students about Gretchel's social status as the younger half-sister of the village chieftain Lloyd Lewole. In response, the Undead animal students in her class respected her with friendliness, showing no impulsive human natures. As a result, Gretchel got along very well with her new classmates and is now happy studying in a school that uses a more fun, but holistic approach to studying and teaching.
But, things were different back at the Wole home, Lloyd's father and Hertzel had found that Gretchel had ran away. Suspicious, they and Lloyd's stepmother questioned their household staff about her whereabouts. While the rest of the staff pretend not to know where Gretchel went to, Jan lied to them that she went off somewhere. Because of this, Hertzel decided to go and search for her far and wide, and promised to his family that he will not come back until he finds Gretchel alive. So, he took two of his accompanying guards with him and went out to search for her far and wide.
